Not sure whether encryption enabled

I have a WRT160N model router and when I go to Advanced Settings > Basic Wireless Settings, it says :
Wi-Fi Protected Setup Status: Configured
Security: WPA2 Personal
I get the same in the Wireless Security section of Advanced Settings.  But when I click on Device Details, it tells me:
Wireless Encryption:  None
Does this mean that I have encryption configured but not enabled?  I thought I set all that up already.  I'm not sure what to make of the Device Details information.

Not sure about the settings ... you can reset the router & see if it works ...

  • I changed my password and I entered it wrong! I can't access my iPod and I'm not sure whether to or not restore my iPod. Please help me!

I recently changed my password on my iPod and I entered it wrong. I can't acces my iPod as it disables and says to connect to iTunes. But I'm not sure whether to or not to restore my iPod Touch to it's original setings. What does this do? Will my iTunes library be effected? I would really appreciate it if you helped me!

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Follow the instructions for putting the device in recovery mode >  iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
That restores the iPod to factory settings.
Will my iTunes library be effected?
It will be deleted from the iPod touch.
If you are a resident of the U.S. have iTunes 10.3 or later, iOS 4.3.3, you re download iTunes purchases for free.

My Macbook air flash had gone for a month and I saw Apple's Macbook air flash storage drive replacement program. I'm not sure whether that program is still available for the broken device or not. Now, I'm booting from the external hard drive. Warranty has gone in October 2013..
I want to send back my macbook air back to apple store. The problem is that I bought it from US and now, I'm using it in Myanmar. If the program is free of charge for my device, it's worth trying to send back to US. Since mine is broken, I'm afraid Apple will take charges for reparing.
So, if anyone having the same problem as me, I would like to get suggestion....
    Thank you!!

I have no idea about how to handle the international aspect of your question.
But here is the Apple writeup about the problem and the remedy.  Maybe that will help you.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it up as new device, explained in this article:

  • HT4061 I have iphone3GS and its unable to connect to cellular network. I am not sure whether it can be resolved? If so how much it would cost me?

One of my friend purchased Apple Iphone 3GS an year back. But due to various reasons, he did not use the phone. But when he recently tried using it, Its unable to detect the cellular network.
I see that the  product warranty period is over and now not sure whether it can be resolved? If it can be, guess, it would cost me more. Is there any help someone can provide me in this issue to have it resolved?

Is the phone activated?  Tell your friend to contact the cell provider.

Remove it according to the developer's instructions and see whether there's an improvement. Back up all data before making any changes.

  • HT5462 Not sure whether I even have ARD -  Should I apply the patch?

This is a very novice question so apologies in advance. Apple software update has been advising me to apply an update for this for some time, but I am not sure what this is. I don't think I ever used Apple Remote Desktop to need applying an update, and I am concerned that by updating this, it will activate a functionality which I never consciously used.
Rather than to heed the "don't argue, just update everything Apple tells you to" approach, I thought to ask for an advice before proceeding. I am afraid I am a novice user of OS/X and therefore my usage is fairly primitive. I do not access my Mac remotely nor wish for anyone else to start accessing it remotely.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

The Client component is installed in all OS X istallations (Similar to screen sharing) - if you don't have ARD anywhere you can ignore, athough if you ever use screen sharing I would be tempted to install anyway.

  • Not sure whether to buy a Mac Pro or an iMac?

I need some help....I am a long time mac user, I have a MDD Dual 1.25 G4 I have been using for 5 years, works like a champ, but I am ready to upgrade. I am print/web designer who uses CS2 at the moment, but I plan on upgrading to CS3. Based on my budget of around $2500, I basically am not sure if I want to get a 2.33Ghz 20" iMac and put 3 gigs of ram in it....or get the dual 2.0Ghz Mac Pro with the standard 1 gig of ram.
I know either one will be faster than my G4, but what I am not sure of is how will each run in comparison using CS2, or if I upgrade, using CS3? I know CS2 is not geared for the intel processors, but it will run OK correct?
The Mac Pro can hold a ton of ram, and the iMac is maxed at 3 gigs....but do I need more than that? I don't do video, I do flash work but not anything huge. Any ideas, experience, insight might help me. Thanks.

Don't forget that CS3 series of applications likes lots of RAM, even though Flash needs the littlest of it. 3GB is a good starting point. CS2 will run under the Intel Macs but it will be in the emulation mode Rosetta so it may not run a lot faster. Yes it will work faster than the G4, that is for sure.
My opinion is - go with the Mac Pro that you can afford and save up a bit of cash to get more RAM later from a third party RAM company like Ramjet or Crucial. 1GB may be all you need at first, then if you need more later you can always upgrade as needed.
I went from a G5 iMac to a Mac Pro and the speed is just awesome. The 20" screen is nice but I compensated by using a 17" and a 15" screens which more than makes up for it.

  • I'm not sure whether to buy Flash CS 5.5 or CS 3. Help please?

    Hello everybody.
I've finally decided to buy Flash, but I'm hesitating on which version. I have the chance to purchase either CS5.5 or CS3 for about the same price from a local shop that still had CS3 in stock.
I've heard CS5.5 is bug-infested and very different from previous versions, which makes me think it will be harder for me to learn to use it (I'm just a hobbyist and rely mostly on online tutorials to learn to make simple little actionscript games). But it is the newest version, so I'm assuming I'd have the best support and maybe new features I might grow to like once the growing pains are over?
On the other hand, I've heard CS3 was pretty good and stable, but I'm worried that it being much older, it might violently disagree with running in an Windows 7 machine. (64bit?)
And it seems bad to buy older software when you can buy new one for the same price, even if the old one has a better rep, at least from what I've heard.
So now that I'm completely confused and unsure which I should get, I ask you all, if you are knowledgeable in both of those applications, could you please tell me whether my assumptions are correct or not, and which of the two you would recommend?
Particularly, if I get CS5.5, would it be easy to learn to use it? Would you say the UI is friendly? Is it truly as picky and crashy as I've heard it was?
And most importantly, if I get CS5.5, would I be able to use old actionscript in it? Like if I follow a tutorial for something that worked in Flash CS2, will it still work in CS5.5? (It was either actionscript 2 or 3, if I remember well.)
Or would any tutorials for anything older than CS5.5 be worthless?
I've been reading reviews and looking in various places, but none of those are as good as hearing first hand the experience of a real person who isn't trying to sell you something. So please, help me make my choice.
Thank you so much in advance. I really appreciate any help any of you can give me!

    @ Rob:
Thank you! That's very helpful. I'll get 5.5.
How bad would you say the UI is compared to CS2? I had managed to figure out how to more or less do what I needed with CS2, so I'm hoping it's not a lot worse. :-S
    @ Ned:
    Thank you.
I was under the impression Adobe's help was horrible no matter what...? Hopefully I'm wrong? The only time I needed to contact them about Photoshop, it was such a catastrophe that I never used Adobe help again. Hopefully they're better with flash.

  • Is anyone else having trouble sending mail?  I have a MobileMe subscription - not sure whether that is the problem.  The Port assigned to my mail account on my iMac has a different number for the one recommended by Apple, but I hesitate to change it.

Is anyone else having trouble sending mail on an iMac running 10.6.8.  I get a messsage that the server can't be accessed.  Apple help suggests using a different port from the one that was originally set.  I have a Mobile Me account.  Any suggestions?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • Not sure how to enable Contribute compatability in Dreamweaver

I'm creating a site in DW CS4 for a client to edit in Contribute. I've enabled Contribute in Dreamweaver, but it ads an ASP extension to the dwt file name. Is this normal? Do I have to have Contribute installed on the same computer as Dreamweaver in order for this to work? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, I'm having a very difficult time finding answers to these questions.

Contribute should not add any extension to the .dwt files. Rather when you create a connection to the site in Contribute, the templates will be downloaded and users can create the webpages using these templates.
Contribute is not required on the same machine.
Clients can install Contribute in there machines and connect to the site using any of the protocol supported like FTP/SFTP/Webdav and update the content.
    Hope it helps,
    Manoj

  • HT1430 Can anyone help me set up sending email from my o2 email account to my new iPhone 5?  I think I maybe shouldn't have clicked the 'merge' option for iCloud when I set up the first email account (though am not sure whether that's relevant).  Thanks,

Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/  When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin.  Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here.  In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D
