Not sure whether to post this under iMac display or iPhoto...
I don't know what's the problem, so I'll try here first.
I have a brand new (2 days old) 2.4GHz iMac with 1GB RAM.
First: A stuck pixel appeared yesterday - only the second day after I'd set the thing up. I fixed it today with JScreenFix, and I don't think it's come back yet... is this normal? Stuck pixels right out of the box?
Second: Today, I was editing a picture in iPhoto and at some point, I tried adjusting the contrast and the computer froze. So I pressed the power button to put it to sleep, waited for the computer to go to sleep, woke it back up and tried again. It worked for a minute and froze again, so I put it back to sleep and woke it back up. I tried one more time and the picture I was working - a photo that was captured in black and white - turned bright pink (screenshot). That scared me, and I put the computer back to sleep. A minute later I pressed the return key to wake it up, and a bunch of horizontal grey and black lines appeared on the screen (photo). When I looked at it closely, I saw there were a bunch of colored pixels in there as well (photo). I heard the sound of me signing on to iChat, which was weird, because I have it set to log me out when I put it to sleep and ask for a password when I wake it back up.
By this point, I was sort of freaked out. I put the computer back to sleep again and woke it back up. I logged in fine, but then I realized my Dock was missing the "shelf." (Screenshot, Photo 1, Photo 2)
I turned off the computer and tried to reset the PRAM. I got two startup chimes, but then it got stuck at the grey screen. After ten minutes I finally had to hold down the power button to turn it off, and then I turned it back on.
It's working okay now, but I'm wondering if this is a software issue (something's wrong with iPhoto?), or maybe a driver issue? My iMac is totally up to date... Has this happened to anyone else? Should I call tech support?

If the pic in iPhoto has a GreyScale colour profile, then convert it to RGB and you’ll have no problems with it. Iphoto supports only RGB pics - cameras, after all, shoot RGB. You can convert the pic to an RGB profile using the Tools menu in Preview. (Tip: use sRGB).
I’ve yet to hear of Sleeping a Mac as a solution for anything. I would have restarted.

External hard drive, sharing, itunes? Not sure where to post this?
sorry guys but i'm not sure where this belongs, but anyway. I just bought my macbook and purchased a Western Digital harddrive ( external ) anyway I have like 80gigs of pics and music and want to get it from my iPod back onto the computer. Not a problem............My problem is that I can't put it directly onto the external drive I first need to put it on the macbook then transfer it to the externak hardrive. When I do this is winds up on my mac HD and also on my external hardrive. I only want it in one place. Ok, my ultimate goal right now is to buy an iMac which I'm doing this weekend. Got rid of my PC's ( Go Apple !) LOL. I want to put all my music ,videos,pics, movies on the external hardrive and be able to share it with both my Macbook and my imac. I simply want to be able to access my everything from both pc's but get it all from the EHD. Right now it's all on my macbook and I want to free up the space, plus learn how to do it for the future. Sorry to ramble. So far I've posted a few times and someone always comes through. Everyone here is awesome, it's like another planet compared to the PC world.

macbook Mac OS X (10.4.9) HP DesktopPut your iTunes folder on the eternal hard drive, and make a alias to it from your home directory on the MacBook (Cmd-L). Do the same when you get the iMac.
I didn't quite get how the two computers are sharing the hard drive, or maybe you'll put the hard drive on the iMac and share the library. There's a lot of ways to make this work. You made a good decision. -
Compare PDF Docs in Preview (not sure were to post)
I need to compare to dumb PDF docs to look for changes that have been made. I was wondering if there is an "elegant" way to do this with preview. Not sure were to post this question. Thank you in advance for any help.
You mean a more elegant way than side-by-side?
You might try this compare utility. I haven't tested it myself and there are no reviews. It is also shareware but may allow a one-time to test.

My screen freezes after a few seconds on my iphone 5c and the display fades slightly so you can see faint lines in the background. I'm not sure whether this is easily fixable or a major problem. Have reset the device, but this has worked. Any ideas?

I registered my new iPhone 5s to my usual Apple ID, however it isn't showing in my devices when I log in. I tried to register it by adding a new device, but it tells me it's already registered to a different Apple ID. I'm really not sure how to fix this. I only have the one Apple ID and the phone is brand new, purchased directly from Apple.
When I check on the phone itself (iCloud and App Store settings) the Apple ID is correct. I'm not sure where else to check.
Whilst setting up the phone, it prompted me to register, which I did. Then when connecting to my laptop through iTunes it prompted me again so I registered again. I even got a confirmation email to the email address associated with my Apple ID that the registration was successful.
How can I add my iPhone 5s to the list of devices on the correct Apple ID?

I'm having problems (1) selecting onscreen text, (2) resizing menu boxes and selecting menues with the cursor. I'm not able to select menus and move them. I'm not sure how to correct this.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again -
I recently changed my password on my iPod and I entered it wrong. I can't acces my iPod as it disables and says to connect to iTunes. But I'm not sure whether to or not to restore my iPod Touch to it's original setings. What does this do? Will my iTunes library be effected? I would really appreciate it if you helped me!
If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Follow the instructions for putting the device in recovery mode > iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
That restores the iPod to factory settings.

iTunes match should work for that. I am assuming your friend gave you some music from a flash drive, and yor not sure if he/sh pirided it or not, and this is understandible. this screen shot should help. I also sugest looking into google play, which is not as convienet as far as combining with iTunes, but is free I bleive.

Did you try to log in icloud.com/find on your computer and see if you can locate your phone?

One of my friend purchased Apple Iphone 3GS an year back. But due to various reasons, he did not use the phone. But when he recently tried using it, Its unable to detect the cellular network.
I see that the product warranty period is over and now not sure whether it can be resolved? If it can be, guess, it would cost me more. Is there any help someone can provide me in this issue to have it resolved?Is the phone activated? Tell your friend to contact the cell provider.

My Macbook air flash had gone for a month and I saw Apple's Macbook air flash storage drive replacement program. I'm not sure whether that program is still available for the broken device or not. Now, I'm booting from the external hard drive. Warranty has gone in October 2013..
I want to send back my macbook air back to apple store. The problem is that I bought it from US and now, I'm using it in Myanmar. If the program is free of charge for my device, it's worth trying to send back to US. Since mine is broken, I'm afraid Apple will take charges for reparing.

When using Connection Doctor to see what is could be causing the issue, look for the red dots to let you know what is wrong. Then all you have to do is correct that information. You can double click on the section that is giving you issue and it will take you there. Most issues could be just password being entered incorrectly.
