Not synching movies

I have had the iPhone for 3 weeks. I am not able to sync movies to the iPhone. I purchased IronMan on iTunes. I have tried to move it to the iphone but states can't find the movie. I am able to play the movie in itunes and moved it to ATV but not the iphone. The movie is stored on the TC but is in my itunes library.
How do I sync movies? (PS - I manually update content and IronMan is checked to move to iphone but doesn't)
Thanks

Did you check the check box that says to sync movies?

  • Itunes 7 and Music Video not synching

I have just upgraded to Itunes 7.0 and automatically updated my ipod firmware to 1.2 as instructed. Two problems:
    1. Now all the music video's are in Itunes in a smart playlist called music video's and none appear on the ipod. On the Ipod there is a video category called Music Video's which is now empty. This category does not appear in itunes (Whilst the other two - Movies and TV shows do and synch fine).
    2. The playlists on my Itunes are synchronised to the ipod fine but music playlists with just music within them are put in the music area of playlists. Playlists containing just one video are moved to video playlists - very confusing! Needs an option to make a playlist contain just music or just video so that they separate correctly and synch correctly (my one with video only does not go to the ipod at all).

    Sorry Guys,
I've just found the answer to 1 above. You have to request selection of music video's at the bottom of the form for music synchwhen the ipod is docked. (I did not notice this option before and why it was now turned off I do not know). I think I may have a way around item 2 as well as video's were not synching. I guess one needs to sort out whatis in what playlist by eliminating videos from music ones and vice versa.

  • IPhone 4 upgraded from iPhone 3GS but Apps did not synch after restore...

I have had every iPhone since the very first one - call me crazy... and each time a new one has come out, all I have needed to do is take it home, restore from last back up and voila - all good. This time, no so good - I took the new iPhone 4 home, plugged it in, restored from backup, then selected to synch my iPhone. Now, admittedly, I have 21.4 GB of music, about 4800 songs (which is why I bought the 32Gb phone, again) and it takes quite a while to restore and synch the phone. When the initial synch was complete, iTunes had only copied my music, movies, pics, etc, everything EXCEPT my APPS! So I spent about an hour organizing all my apps into folders and moving them around, then I synched it and all was good 4 days ago. Last night I went to synch my phone and received several errors stating that the phone could not synch and that some files were missing, so I restored from backup, again, and resynched, again, and this time, like last, all my apps were not installed, but only some of the folders were... Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to get this to work... or maybe some of the apps I have need to be trashed?
    Thanks in Advance,

I need to ask, just in case, but are you certain you have enough room for the apps? It seems like you do, but you might have synced some videos or movies that prevent the apps from syncing.
You might have some corrupted Apps too. Don't synch any apps you don't need, and then try again. You're going to have to take some time to sort through it all.

  • Trouble synching movies to new iPad

I recently migrated my Itunes library to an external drive. I can connect to it from either my iMac (to which it is tethered) or MacBook Pro via my wireless router (Time Capsulte). So far good. I only open one library at a time, which I understand is a limitation of this approach and that's fine with me. I synched my iPhone successfully to my MacBook Pro with no problems.
However, I replaced my iPad (ate the restocking fee in order to get the Wifi + 3G 64GB version. In synching this new iPad to my MacBook Pro, for some reason, if I check my movies (I am set to manually organize my musics and videos), then click Apply, my older movies will not synch. I see these movies in my Library, so I cannot figure out what is wrong. I have the most recent updates to Snow Leopard, iTunes, etc.
My TV shows synch fine, books, i.e., when I check them, they get copied --it's only the movies. I seem to have at least 40GB available and the movies in question don't total more than 10GB.
Help! Can't figure out where the glitch is.

    give this a try:
select one of the problem files in iTunes and, from the advanced menu, select +create iPad or Apple TV version+.
try syncing the newly created file.

  • Recently trackpad and pointer on screen are not synched up- pointer jumps away erratically

Recently trackpad and pointer on screen are not synched up- pointer jumps away erratically

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
    3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    5. Reset the System Management Controller.
    6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • Iphone 5 will not synch, itunes stops responding

I have had my iphone 5 for over a year.  In the last month when I plug it in, itunes will freeze up and stop responding.  I can not synch, add new music, new movies.  I have to shut down itunes.  This happens whether I plug in my iphone or my husband's iphone (both iphone 5's).  Without an iphone plugged in, itunes will not freeze.  My iPad air synchs just fine.
We have shut down the computer, we have tried numerous times.  All software is up to date.  Itunes is running 11.2.0.115.  The iphones are running iOS 7.1.1.  This was happening on iOS 7.1 but I don't believe it was happening before that update.
    Any ideas?

    Hi gt7473c,
It sounds like iTunes works fine until you connect your iPhones. The article below provides several tips that can resolve the issue including suggestions that will help isolate the issue to the iOS devices or computer.
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3219
    Symptoms
In rare instances, iTunes may become unresponsive when connecting an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer. iTunes may become responsive again after you disconnect the device from the computer.
    Resolution
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Install any available software updates for your computer.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions.
For Windows: Refer to the documentation for your computer for instructions on using Windows Update to update your computer.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also download iTunes from the Apple website.
For Windows: Use Apple Software Update, or download iTunes from the Apple website.
Test with automatic syncing disabled.Reconnect your device and test to see if the issue still occurs. If your device is recognized successfully, you may be able to isolate which type of data is causing the issue. Do this by deselecting all syncing options under each of the syncing tabs and then sync. After that, re-enable your sync options one at a time until the issue returns.
Note: If the issue only occurs when syncing data from the Info tab is enabled (For example: Contact, Calendar, Mail account or Bookmark syncing), reset the Sync History (for Mac OS X instructions see this article, for Windows see this article).
For Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
For Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
Check your device for podcasts. If there are any podcasts, manually delete all podcast episodes from the device by sliding your finger across the podcast episode's name and tapping Delete. Once all podcasts are removed from your device, reconnect it to the computer, open iTunes, and test.
If possible, test to see if connecting your device to a different computer with the latest version of iTunes installed resolves the issue.
    Test with iTunes plug-ins removed.
    Quit iTunes.
Navigate to the following folder, based on your operating system:
    Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Windows Vista or Windows 7:  C:\Users\[username]\App Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Mac OS X:
~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins   (The "~" represents your Home folder)
    /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
If any files are in this folder, move them to the Desktop temporarily.
Open iTunes and test to see if the issue is resolved. If so, you may leave these iTunes plug-ins removed. If you wish to re-use these iTunes plug-ins, consult the vendor for the iTunes plug-ins to see if any updates are available.
If the issue also occurs on a different computer:
If the issue does not occur on a different computer, or no other computer is available to try:

  • Trouble with color labels not synching between different machines sharing same data drive

    Hi
I am having a problem that seems to have come up when I started using a mix of PS/Bridge CS4 and CS3, in which color labels I apply in Bridge--primarily to folders--do not retain the color label when I look at the same set of folders on the same external hard drive using multiple, different Macintosh machines, running a mix of CS3 and CS4.  The color labels will appear on one machine and then not appear at all on another.  Note: they don't appear as white labels without a color.  It's as if they were never labeled at all!
I use multiple Macs to connect to one primary external data drive.  I consistently configure Bridge to export caches to the external drive, and with CS3 any color labels I applied to folders were consistently displayed in the same way on multiple machines.
Every since I upgraded a couple of my Macs to CS4, I now notice that color labels applied on one machine aren't showing up when I attach my external drive to other machines. I've even noticed a problem connecting to the external drive from two different user profiles on the same Mac laptop (running CS4).
I have tried resetting the preferences and the cache on all of these machines.  I also then re-toggled the export caches checkboxes on all these machines.  Per some earlier troubleshooting, I have also made sure that the naming convention for the labels is the same on all the machines: "Approved" versus "Green," etc.
There just seems to be no rhyme or reason for why the color labels are not synching.
    HELP!?
    Thanks in advance.

I have no clue at all, labels should stay visible after having applied them
to a file and used purge cache. And they do so on my system.
Normally there will not be many reasons to use the purge cache option unless
you have trouble, every time you alter a file it should be auto update the
preview and thumb, is this not in your workflow?
Are you still working with same files that were also present on your other
    system and using CS3?
Have you considered to start from scratch?
Quit Bridge, from the user library preference folder delete the plist file
for Bridge to the trash and in the same library from the caches folder /
Adobe/BridgeCS4 move the cache file outside the user library if you want to
backup this file (or to the trash if you don't want it anymore)
Both files will replace itself with fresh ones but the cache needs to start
    all over again building previews.
Again hold option when starting Bridge first time and again choose refresh
    preferences.
Set the preferences for Bridge to your wishes and try again.
However, if I go to "Tools-Cache-Purge Cache For Folder" and purge the cache
for the folder I'm working in, the color labels disappear.  Is this expected
behavior?  Shouldn't the color labels be recreated?? Again, I have repeatedly
purge the cache in this way, have reset Bridge CS4 settings, and have
re-selected the option to "Export Caches To Folders When Possible."  What's
    going on!?!?!?  Thanks.

  • ITunes - Network drive synch - Move library.xml and library.itl

I have iTunes loaded on a work computer. They synch everything in the My Documents folder. The network guys are upset at the iTunes folder in My Music. I have the music actually on a different part of the hard drive that they do not synch, but they want me to move the itl and xml stuff too. How do I do that and keep iTunes working?

The XML & ITL file locations are hardwired into iTunes. It will only look in "My Documents\My Music\..." for those files. It is possible to change the Windows definitions for those special system areas (My Docs & My Music), but then your IT team will be even angrier with you. In fact, they likely have the system protected such that you cannot change those system definitions.
Your company has the right to tell you not to load software on your system, so unless they are willing to cooperate with you on this issue you'll probably have to remove iTunes. I just use an iPod at work connected to separate external speakers.
But, if you want to go the hard way... you could quit iTunes and move the XML & ITL files out of My Documents before you log out at the end of the day, and restore them to their normal location after you logon the next day. That presumes they don't do synchs to the network while your active during the day. An annoying process granted, but it would work.

  • My iPod Touch will not synch properly or restore at all.

When I connect it to my i-Tunes library, it will not synch properly.  I receive an error message saying: "ITunes was unable to load provider data from Synch Services.  Reconnect or try again later."  I do reconnect and I still eceive the same error message.  When I attempt to restore the iPod Touch, I receive an error message saying that I don't have enough access permissions.  When my son connected the iPod Touch to his i-Tunes library on his side of the computer (I have a PC with multiple accounts for me and my family), he did not receive any error messages.  Moreover, he was able to synch the iPod Touch properly and even restore it to its factory settings without any trouble.  I think that this may be a problem with my i-Tunes library, but I have tried several times to update my i-Tunes version and I still receive error messages.  For some reason, my son does not have any problems.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finished, you will be asked if you wish the contents of iTunes to be copied to the iPad.

  • How do I synch the audio and video to play together in iMovie? And why is it not synched?

My iMovie the video is not synched to the audio.  It could be about two seconds off.  And sometimes the sound just stops. • Audio not synching when published

Hello everyone. I'm working in Captivate 4, (purchased, not
trial). I'm relatively new user, but have been working intensely
for about a two months developing a tutorial for my client.
The audio portion does not synch properly with the video
after publishing to an AVI file.
My project previews correctly, (entire file is 117 slides, 9
    minutes long.)
However, after publishing to an AVI file, the audio does not
match up with the video - the audio playback is slightly slower,
and after 2 minutes, has lapped the slide. Most of my slides
    average 2-6 seconds long.
I tried different publish settings, but have not found
anything to work, although changing some settings have improved the
    output somewhat.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
This file will be published on YouTube. This is a
    demonstration video only.
My audio was developed using text to speech, (so no music
quality sound is required) and each slide has one audio file per
    slide, (nothing embedded.)
    Settings I chose were:
Video Format: MJPEG Compressor (tried Indeo, but syncing was
    worse)
    Audio: PCM (only choice)
Encoding: FM Radio (64) and 11.025 KHz Frequency
    Encoding Speed 5
I restarted, and do not have any other program actively
    running (except Kasperski)
We recently reformatted the hard drive on this machine, took
every program off, defragmented, so the system is very lean and
    clean.
Added more memory, so now we have 3 GIG of memory.
Running XP, the only installed programs are MS Office,
    Kasperski, and Captivate.
Any help, or advice on best setting or configurations, would
    be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Adriana

Teri, do this for me, if you would, please:
    Check "
Movie > Preferences > Preferences tab > (check)
"Include Audio When Movie Is Generated".
    Did that help?
To Everyone Monitoring This Thread: Another easily
overlooked troublemaker is the "Audio" icon (tiny speaker) located
beneath the timeline when you are viewing a single slide
(duh - sorry, brain fart - of course that's when yo see it because
the timeline isn't visible until you go to Edit mode - double duh).
Anyway, if you click it, you will turn audio off for
all single-slide previews - note ... I said ONLY previews of
the currently open slide. This will NOT affect other previews, nor
will it affect audio in the published product . . .
Hope this info helped some - have a good weekend!

  • IMAP still not synching with Exchange Server... Come on Apple!

I have IMAP set up to my company server from the iPad. Reason being so that I can manage emails (delete, move to folders etc) whilst working off-line.
But any changes made via the iPad are not synching and updating on the Exchange Server once back on-line.
Really hoped iOS4 would fix this, but no. This really is the most useless tool for a regular business traveller. Not being able to catch up on email and sort, delete, reply etc on short haul European flights is in-excusable for a 2010 business tool Apple!
    Unless I'm missing something??!!
    Message was edited by: Tuskaa7

    Yes thanks Graham.
It is a big oversight in my mind and one which makes me carry a laptop most times, somewhat negating the need for the iPad. Thus actually adding a business tool I need to carry, rather than reduce in size and weight etc. I real shame for me and one which actually makes the iPad almost redundant most of the time.
I know having searched these forums and speaking with colleagues etc, it is a common feeling and one which Apple should address asap in my mind.
    Thanks anyway,

My iPod touch can't synch .mov files with iTunes. • Video file not synching to Apple TV

I purchased the Apple TV in hopes of being able to watch my company's work on the television set in true HD without having to downconvert to a DVD thus having higher quality and less used DVDs. Now, I just exported from Final Cut Pro a DVCProHD 720p 24fps file and imported it into iTunes. It plays perfectly in iTunes but I've tried repeatedly to synch it to the ATV and it says that it was not synched because the ATV cannot play it. What am I doing wrong here?

Here is the officially supported lists:
    Video formats supported
H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): Up to 5 Mbps, Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC) with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps, 960 by 540 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
iTunes Store purchased video: 320 by 240 pixels, 640 by 480 pixels, 720 by 480 pixels (anamorphic), or high-definition 720p
MPEG-4: Up to 3 Mbps, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 720 by 432 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
And here is the link to that info:
