Not to print "No Entry" in list view. How ?

Hi and sorry if this has been asked before (just couldn't find the thread).
Printing a list view of a calendar works fine, except iCal prints each and every day ...
So on some calendars I have endless days with "No Entry".
Is there a way to tell iCal to just print days with an actual entry ?

Various Powerbooks Mac OS X (10.4.7) OS and apps are up to date.

Not sure if you still need to do this, but I found the best way was to go to Icloud and delete all the completed tasks. I tried giving non-dated tasks older dates so that they would disappear but it was faulty - some worked, some didn't. My new plan is to give everything a due date and those that don't get due dates get deleted completely. Hope this helps.

Per my knowledge,
it is by design that the data type multiple lines of text can only use “contains” and “begins with” operators.
You can also filter the list view using SharePoint Designer,
Open your list AllItem.aspx page in SPD ->click “Filter” > in “Field Name” select your multipe line of text field, in “Comparison” will displayed four choices.

I found the answer just after posted this. Thanks to a user named CloudWalker. Solution is to go in AppStore, View Account under "Store" Menu and unhide any purchases.

How do you PRINT a Finder window list view?

Hello all.
I think a long time ago in OS9, we can open a new (Finder) Window, switch to 'List' view and print the window, so that we can see all the nested folders, etc.
Can we/How do we do this in OS X? Can't seem to find a Print command...

Press the Shift, Command, and 4 keys, followed by the spacebar, click in the window, open the png on the desktop, and print that.

List view - how to set spacing

I am running Mavericks on a MBP and want to set List view so the Name column doesn't stretch out all the way across the window - I want it to default to something only 1.5-2 inches on screen, so I can easily see and order things by the other columns [such as size, date etc.] - I can't figure out how to set up List View to have a default spacing setting = if I add Comments column [which generally is blank anyway] that'll do it but I don't want that, I just want to set up the Name column in list view to be more limited and not stretch all the way across on first opening.

It's dynamic and requires showing more than just the name column. That's Apple's new paradigm.

Always open Mac HD in list view How To?

How do you Always open your Mac HD in list view. 10 x out of 10.
After restarting or logging on again.
I double click my Macintosh HD desktop icon.
It opens in icon View
Under View Tab in Finder
I select "Show View Options" last choice
Mac HD small View Option window opens
I unselect "Always open in icon view"
I reselect the original Mac HD window
and click the 2nd icon with 4 horizontal lines= list view.
The Mac HD small View Option window now changes to "Always open in list view" Use as Default is Grayed out. (I have also tried switching one of the "Show Colums:" subcategories such as "Version" to ungray "Use as Defaults" and now click "Use as Defaults"
I close the small Mac HD View Option window.
I close the original Mac HD window with small icon next to words.
I log out
I log in double click my desk top Macintosh HD icon and the window seems to Always open in icon view.
Any help for this ongoing problem would be appreciated.

Download TinkerTool - CNet Downloads or MacUpdate. Use the General page and check the option at the top to display invisible files. Click the button to relaunch the Finder. In the window you want locate the .DS_Store file and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash. Uncheck the invisibles option box in TinkerTool then the Relaunch Finder button. Quit TinkerTool. Locate /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file and drag it to the Trash. Don't empty the Trash.
Now in the desired Finder window reset all your default view options by clicking in the Finder window then pressing COMMAND-J to option the View Options dialog. Do not close this window. Now try restarting. Your window should open on restart automatically in the view you desire. Should you close that window anytime reopen it by clicking on the Finder icon in the Dock, not by double-clicking on the disk icon on your Desktop.

ICal not displaying old (before Oct 2010) entries in List View

I have just noticed this. I don't know if it is a new issue, or one that I have never noticed before. Other views (Day, Month, Week) all show my old entries. Is there a problem?
Edit: I found some other posts listing this problem. It seems as if it is a known issue, but obviously nothing has been done to address it.

Thanks for your response, There is a column in list named EffortDate (Date Time). this is Indexed column in the list and filter criteria is built on this column only. There is no calculation happening on this column, and users are able to edit the values
at any time in the week or following weeks.
I understand screenshots are more helpful in this scenario, but it has client data so i can't provide screenshot too.
Anything that you can suggest based on the provided information that would be really helpful.

Barcode not displaying/printing in Crystal Report java viewer

We have written a Crystal report (in Developer XI release 2 with service pack 4 installed) which produces barcode labels. The barcodes are Code 39 barcodes and are generated by printing the string \*data_field\* in a Code 39 barcode font. The asterisk is the character used for the Code 39 start/stop sequence in the barcode font.
In Developer everything works fine and prints out and scans correctly. When we make the report available to our end users in the Crystal Reports java viewer all we get where the barcode should appear is white space on screen or when we print. (The rest of the report behaves correctly).
We have tried a few things and have found that if both asterisks or the starting or ending asterisk is left in a different font (i.e. not the barcode font) then the rest of the string displays and prints in the barcode font. (unfortunately without bot asterisks you don't get a scanable barcode).
Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?

                I have found that the issue is caused by the bold attributes of my field.
                You can try the following and you should encounter the same issue:
                                - Create a Report
                                - Create a formula with many characters
                                - Put you field in Times New Roman bold 8.
                The following Font Size in Times New Roman are in issue: 5 u2013 8 u2013 11- 14
                The following Font Size in Arial are in issue: 8 u2013 11 u2013 12 u2013 14

Printing issues when printing day, week, and list views

I'm having problems all of a sudden with printing my iCal. Months print just fine, but when I try to print any other view, it says my paper size is incorrect, to choose another size. Well, I've been through and chosen every size listed, and it still says I have the incorrect paper size.
Anybody have any experience with this problem?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try changing your default paper size in System Preferences...>Print & Fax>Printing.
Is there any reason that you are still using 10.4.1? The current system is 10.4.10.
Also check this search for other suggestions.

Printing XML Docs in List view created by XF builder

Hi,
I have an iview which displays a list of XML documents created using XMLForms. I want to add Print functionality in this iview. I tried adding a simple HTML link calling window.print() in the <project>RenderListItem.xsl file. It works fine. But the problem is that, the Print link gets displayed for each and every document.
I just want the Print link to be displayed only once. I tried giving the Link outside the <xsl:template match="DataModel"> section. But it threw an error.
Is there any way to display the Print link only once?

I removed an app from my "Purchases" tab list view - how do I get it back?

Hi all
Went into app store, clicked on "Purchases" tab and it displays a list of my Purchased appstore items. I was having an issue with Growl (going from non-AppStore to App Store version) and needed to re-install it.
I inadvertently clicked on the "x" button next to Growl in my Purchase History and now it is gone.
Is there any way to get it back in the list? I know I can install/re-install Growl from the application page in App Store.

Found the answer in another thread (kind of), but I don't know how to link to or credit the post that pointed me to the approach of looking in my iTunes Account section (sorry). Poster was @staticshokx
The trick is to go to "View My Account" from menu
Login to your Apple Store account
Under the Heading "iTunes in the Cloud" there is a blue text link "View Hidden Purchases"
Click on it, and then you can un-hide any apps that you have previously hidden from your purchase hsitory.
Hope this helps others.

In List View, how can I move an item from within a subfolder up to the top level of the window's parent folder?

Up 'til now, from System 7.1 to Tiger—I skipped Leopard—you simply dragged the item onto the folder window's titlebar (since that folder's icon was, naturally, not in its own window) and BINGO! there it was, at the top level. Nothing I can think to do in Snow Leopard seems to work.

Thanks. Most definitely does, although when experimenting I found the left window edge was closer, and 'scrubbing' the item just out of the window and back in seemed to fit the underlying file and folder metaphor better to my mind than just dropping it any old where in the window.
And 'any old where', at any old speed doesn't always bring up the oh-so-subtle blue border that says, "I get it, you wanna add something to this window, hit me." That's The Clue. There seems to be an invisible line you hafta cross, and some kind of deliberate pace you hafta hit. Too fast and SL doesn't seem to always take it seriously. But that left edge scrub can be quite fast.
Sorry about the over hasty denial, I was checking my facts and editting to say you were right when the board was shut for some sort of maintenance, and my bad became permanent. Please forgive.

i used the latest itunes upgrade and now my "view all media in list view" does not work. only songs are in list view. how can i get albums back to list view and not icons??????
