Not unhappy- but have an important quest

I still love my Creative card. If I was not going to use my X-Fi then I would probably just stick with the on board sound. I see no point in any other cards out there. I have been a loyal Creative customer for many years and see no reason to change now. I see them moving forward and at least putting some effort into making this all work right. Some other companies seem to be laggin behind CL in my opinion. The sound quality with the new drivers is very good, in my opinion, however can I get an estimate as to when hardware acceleration will be supported. This is one of the largest benifits of my X-Fi card versus on board or other sound cards. With XP Pro x64 in Vanguard there is an option to use hardware acceleration while with Vista Ultimate 64 there is only a software acceleration option. I believe this is causing a huge performance hit. When is this option going to be turned on or supported in Vista 64 driers please?Thank you...

Catherine,?Are you telling me that hardware acceleration is actually available with the current/new drivers but that there is an issue in Vanguard. Therefore following these suggestions and replacing a file will allow me to feel the benefits of hardware acceleration. If this is the case I really thank you.... Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(

I'm considering moving to the Creative Cloud but have some concerns. if, for example, after spending 1500+ over the next three years on the Creative Cloud and by then, presumably at version CS9 or CS10, will I be able to continue using the CS9 or CS10 products as I would have, had I bought the retail software?
I know if I continue to simply buy upgrades to retail items and stop at CS9 I will be able to use those products forever so I am not seeing the incentive here if that is the case.
Your confirmation is much appreciated so that I can move on to decide on my next steps.

No. It's an all-or-nothing exit policy at the moment.
When you stop paying your monthly fee, you lose all access to Adobe software (unless you already own a pre-Cloud version which you can fall back on).
Many requests have been made to relax the exit policy and permit users to perhaps pay a residual fee to keep using whichever version is current when they leave the Cloud. But that hasn't yet been offered by Adobe. Personally I don't expect it to ever be offered.
PS how much will you spend on the retail versions over the next three years given that you must upgrade with every new version under Adobe's new upgrade policy introduced with the CS6 cycle? i.e you can no longer skip a version and still qualify for upgrade pricing next version.
Licensing issues aside, in effect, you never really "own" the software if you want to stay current. Both Cloud and retail are now effectively subscription models.
The choice really boils down to upfront $$ vs monthly $$.

The primary incentive is full access to the entire Master Collection for a low monthly fee. Don't have to outlay thousands of dollars upfront.
You also get:
additional Cloud services (host up to 5 websites etc)
multi-platform licenses (activate on Win/Win, Mac/Mac or Win/Mac for the same monthly fee. Retail items are single platform only)
early access to new software features for Cloud members only. As soon as Adobe finishes writing and testing the code, Cloud members get it. Retail users must wait for CS6.5 or CS7. Depends if living on the bleeding edge of Adobe software interests you. As we all know, change is the only constant these days.

Updates not needed but marked as important

I have 76 updates marked as imporant but when I click install: "Not needed"
I know that you can do the updates manualy but coz the links are hard to find and sometimes imposible and coz they are 76 I wont do it manualy.
I just reinstalled my Windows and I never had I problem like this before, what can I do?

2 ink colors not working but have ink in them

My light magenta and magenta still have ink in them but do not print out those colors. Any idea on how I can fix it?

Title button not set but have no title button

I have the error "title button not set" when checking the project, but I do not have a title button, I do have titles however, so I'm asssuming (perhaps wrongly) that it's okay to set the "title button" to 'stop'.
Is that right?

There are various buttons on the users remote control (for the DVD player). You can make choices about what these will do. If you pick "stop," when the user presses the "title" menu on their remote, the DVD will stop. That is probably not what you want.

Ipad and iphone purchased music not sychronizing but have same id

I have bought this music downloaded to my iphone with apple id/ icloud when synchronizing today with my Ipad on my PC, only the Ipad music downloads remain. How can I get this back? They were all downloaded with the same account and saved to icloud but now this has disappeared.
How can I get this back I want to consolidate all the music I bought between Ipad and Iphone, I have just given up on consolidating my ipod as they are two different accounts and it got messy.
Please let me know how to get this back?

This partly resolved my question, I managed to synch 20% of the purchased music between ipad and iphone but the other 80% has disappeared is not on my itunes either but I can see the downloads in my purchased history account information. Very strange. Any ideas on what to do next?

Email saying trade in not received, but have $200 giftcard.

I recieved an email from Verizon stating that my $200 gift card had been processed. It also said that they had not received my IPhone 4s which I sent in back in Sept. 22nd via post office. Anyone else get this weird email? Just want to be sure that I am not charged the gift card amount back saying they do not have my traded in Iphone.

Icloud not available, but have iOS5

I didn't select the option to allow icloud when updating, now I cannot activate it. Do I have to restore my device?

When I type in site, page does not load it but have to click arrow icon at right hand side to load

I have just download lates Firefox version. But for some reason, when I type in name of website, it does not load but have to click arrow key on right hand side of address bar so this happens.
If I go to bookmarks but, pages loads with no problem.
Also do I need Java?

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

How did you delete the Note? If you did a "select all" and "cut", open the Note and shake your iPhone to undo the cut action.
