Can I use user names and password of Microsoft Office Outlook for hyperion

I'm new to Hyperion. Can anyone tell that can I use "user names" and "passwords" of Microsoft Office Outlook for login into hyperion applications.
I'm not talking about single sign on, but want to use same user names and passwords as that in Outlook.
ANy suggestions?

That depends on how your Outlook authentication is configured.
Hyperion is generally configured to authenticate against a network directory (NTLM, MSAD or LDAP). I'm not an Outlook expert, but my Outlook user ID and password is almost always my MSAD id and password (I change clients regularly, and it's almost always the same situation). So it's also usually the same as my Hyperion ID and password.
Ask your Outlook administrator whether it uses (or syncs with) MSAD, NTLM or LDAP. If the answer is yes, then you're in good shape because Hyperion can use these as well.

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

If you bought the machine new yourself, and did not enter a password when configuring it, leave the field blank.
If you bought it used, then you need to reset the password, as described here:

You can use the below command from the command prompt of DC to get all the AD users who are inactive for last
X weeks,
dsquery
user -inactive X
To extract the inactive user information to a CSV file use the below command,
dsquery user -inactive X > c:\TestFolder\InactiveUsers.csv
NOTE: The value
X represents number of weeks, for example if your requirement is to find the inactive users for last 90 days then the

You need to go into iCal and manually change the password.
iCal > Preferences > Accounts > MobileMe email address (CalDAV) > Account Information
I ran into the same problem when I recently changed my password for MobileMe and this resolved it.

SSO using user ID and password

I have installed EP 6.0 SP2 running on SQL DB,Business Package for ESS for SAP R3 4.7 , ITS6.20.
Portal is runing fine and i also have set up the SSO with R3 using UIDPWD. I can able to access ESS iviews. Everything runs fine.
But the problem is that after accessing 6/7 iviews of ESS, i am prompted for User id and Password. ( Welcome screen is displayed). I have checked the no of session in SAP R/3 ( Transaction : SM04) there are 4/5 RFC session found.
Please do let me know if any other information i have missed out. Any idea always appriciated.

But still i am having the same problem .
About the second option you have mentioned
I have not changes iViews priority nor authorization scheme priority.
As i mentioed , i could able to access iViews but after accessing 6/7 iviews i am getting portal login screen. This screen came even i click on the portal welcome page too.
Please do let me know if any other setting need to be maintained . Is there any setting need to be done in ITS side.

Connecting to SMTP mail server using user name and password in java

I am trying to send mail using SMTP server in java.
But my SMTP server only allows valid users to send mails. I need a way to pass my user name and password to my SMTP server.
How do I do this ?

I think the client is not able to do a HTTP POST
to the WLS server but it can do a HTTP GET.

ICal not recognizing user name or password when it previously did

I'm getting this all of sudden: "The server did not recognize your user name or password for account 'iCloud.' Make sure you enter them correctly". Yet, there is no where for me to re-enter my info. How do I get my computer ical and iCloud to re-sync? Both, on my iphone and macbook, the icloud selctions for calendars are checked. I did not change anything before this happen; and, all my other applications are syncing up perfectly.

Yes same here - I think it is because after downloading and then getting rid of the buggy mackeeper I have changed some of my keychain permissions - but like you I get the message without any indication of here to put my password into? checked my preferences for icloud and etc and all seems fine???? where do I enter them???

And I have a problem in opening the sql plus. It asks for user id and pass but when entered scott, tiger it always gives a tns error.
Could you tell me how to make a database & how to log on & how to make a new user id and password

It seem that you have problem with network connectivity to you database.
Check the listener status and the configuration of the files: tnsnames.ora & listener.ora
In all cases you must specified the error.

Exchange not recognizing user name or password

I can not get pass this...it will not recognize the username or password....
I have tried all the suggested ways to put my username in but nothing seems to work...
Any suggestions that I might have overlooked.
The imap switch is turned on. There is no ssl security.

Parameter weirdness: Report not using user selected parameter value

I am writing my first report and cannot for the life of me figure out how to deal with this issue.
When I call a report and pass the parameters in, it appears that the user cannot then change the parameter values and run the report again even though the parameters are displayed. When user hits run report, the values revert to what was passed in by original
call.
Scenario
Report B has Parameter Period : Month, Quarter, Year displayed in a drop down list.
Report A calls Report B and passes it the parameter: Quarter.
Report B loads. User now changes parameter to Year via the drop down parameter list and hits Run Report.
Instead of loading the report with user selected value (Year), it reverts back to the parameter it was called with, Quarter.
I have tried changing the refresh option on the parameter to always, but no joy.
The only way that seems to work is to put textboxes on the report to change the parameter.
How can I stop this behaviour, and use the users new selection.
This should be really straight forward, and its driving me nuts that its not allowing the user to change the parameters
Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you use SSRS 2012? Based on my test, the issue is occurred in SSRS 2012 Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS). When we deploy the report to report server, it will disappear.
In this situation, we can add another duplicate parameter to work around this issue. Please add two parameters in the report, and then hide one of the parameter. We can pass the parameter value to the hide parameter. If we want to select other values, we
can change the visible parameter values.
Alternatively, I recommend you that submit this suggestion at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/. If the suggestion mentioned by customers for many times, the product team may consider to add the feature in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the

ISync will not use the current .mac password settings

After accidently deleting the main keychain I am trying to use iSync to bring my keychains back in - I have set up iSync before heading out on the road and had it working properly - I have a .mac account and can access it on the web.
When trying to sync - and after making sure the proper password is loaded into the .mac system pref's pane I get this error message
Invalid .Mac Username or Password. Please verify your .Mac Member Name and Password in .Mac System Preferences.
I searched and found one members solution ( reseting keychain) but it did not work for me - anything else I can do?
If I wanted to reload Keychain from my desktop where would the file be located so I could get someone to load it up onto my iDisk and replace what is on my Macbookpro

That's not the problem. If you have Apple Mail, you have to separately configure the passwords for iPhoto as well. Even though you have entered your email accounts and passwords properly in the email area, you have to re-enter the correct passwwords for all the email accounts registered under iPhoto/Preferences/Accounts; make sure to save each password, then close iPhoto and reopen it. Then you will be able to send the pix!!

FR suddenly will not use user point of veiw changes

HFM 11.1.2 all my reports have been fine but suddenly they will only use the default user's point of view. Even when reports are set to use the user's point of view, it does not change in the report. for example, The POV says 2011 , but the heading and the data is 2003. Also cannot change the database connection on existing reports. It says it successfully changed it, but when you check it is still on the old connection. This just started yesterday although reports have been fine until then

Yes, it did not help. The issue turned out to be that we added a new user directory which also contained the "admin" ID and that directories ID was not provisioned for reporting. The solution was to change the order of seraches for the user authorization to search the native directory first so that the system is now using the correctly provisioned user within the system.
