"Not Verified" WIFI connection certificate

Hi everybody!
I am dealing with a new setup for my company to use WPA2 Enterprise using Radius.  My actual configuration works fine but I receive an alert the first time that I try to join to the network with my Iphone (client).
The certificate that I am using is not signed. I want to know if this "Not verified" message will dissapear if I send my certificate to be signed by some trusted CA (like VeriSign).
I want to do the sonnection as smooth as possible for the clients.
Thank you for your help

I'm having the same issue, but it is only with iOS devices.  I've tried different platforms (iPod, iPhone, iPad) and also with different iOS's (iOS 5, 6 and 7).  It's a VeriSign trusted cert.  It does not happen with Android or Windows Mobile devices.  Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

My iPhone is not having wifi connection anywhere

    Hi PamelaVR,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend starting with these troubleshooting steps if your iPhone battery is not behaving as you'd expect:
    Battery does not charge
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Deployed 2012 R2 NPS for wireless 802.1x Workstations work fine, but iPhones state that the SSL is "not verified" when connecting to the network.

NPS server is a 2012 R2 in a fresh domain. I'm using a Go Daddy standard SSL. I emailed myself all the GoDaddy Root and intermediate certs that I could find and installed them on the iPhone but I still get the "not verified" after entering the
username and password. Once I click Accept, I'm able to connect just fine to the wireless network.  Will a Go Daddy cert not work or am I missing something else here?

    Hi,
From my point of view, to figure out this issue, we need to find out how does iPhone validates the certificates chain.
Due to this issue is more related to iPhone, to get better help, please post your question on the iPhone forum below,

  • Galaxy Note Edge Wifi Connection keeps dropping off

My wifi connections keeps disconnecting even after many attempts to login and getting connected on my home wifi it disconnects within a few seconds. Checked my modem and router and all is good (up to date firmware) and no connection issues on other devices. I verified my Edge is up to date as well. I am at a loss as to why it keeps auto disconnecting from my wifi. I tested tethering to my other cell phone and it stayed connected to it. So where do I go from here?

    Cesmenow,
Thanks for reaching out to us. We can assist you. To confirm, this is only happening on your home wi-fi connection or do you also experience it with all wi-fi's?
We can try a couple of troubleshooting steps to resolve this: First, try resetting the app preferences by going to Settings>General>Application manager>Applications then press Settings>Reset app preferences. Tell us if this helps.
If not, then please run your device in Safe Mode - http://tinyurl.com/oo54noe and try again. This turns off all 3rd party apps. Tell us if it helps.

  • Have done all the trouble shooting connection but my iPad still can not get wifi connection

i have done all the trouble shooting connection but mu iPAd still can not get wifi connection

    Hi Jo,
Each router is a little different but here are the basics: login to the router using the administrator account, should have that info from the installer, and then you should find something like security settings, or it may be advanced security.  There will be a setting to the effect of limiting access, or it may say allow Mac address authentication, or admit the Mac addresses in the table...if that is switched on, you can just switch it off and that will allow any wireless device to attach.  If you want to keep it on, then you have to enter the Mac address for the device you want to use for access.  In the case of the iPad, go to Settings > General > About > WiFi Address (another way of saying Mac address).  Enter that very long sequence in the router's Mac address acceptance table and that should take care of things.
Using the Mac address does not change any of the email settings, just limits attaching to the router in the first place.
If you are already getting email, you must be attaching already so this should not be an issue.  If you are having email issues, such as receive but not send, you may not have the outgoing server set correctly: Settings > Mail > Account > Outgoing server name (usually an SMTP server) and you may have to go to the advanced settings to enter the outgoing password (normally the same as the account/incoming password) and then check to see if SSL is ON or OFF...most common email services say to set to OFF.

  • 5800: Java applications do not use Wifi connection

Using my 5800 phone, Java applications (e.g. Opera Mini)  always use a 3G connection despite Wifi is available.
When I moved the 3G access point to another section under 'Destinations' in my connectivity setup, so I left
only Wifi connections in my 'Internet' section, Java applications do not connect to the internet anymore.
I want to let me select preferably Wifi when available.
Other applications (Web, Google Maps) work correctly.
    Any ideas on this ?
    Nokia 5800
    FW 30.0.011

The only java app that I had that issue with was opera mini.
    Solved it by doing this:
Menu > Settings > Application Mgr. > Installed Apps. > Select "Opera Mini" > Options > Suite Settings > Access Point
I then selected my wireless router.
Soon after I decided that opera mini was more trouble than it's worth due the sites that didn't work properly and switched back to the standard browser.
The setting above should work for other java apps that don't behave too, each app retains it's own individual settings.

  • IPhone5s not getting wifi connectivity using iBaton router-BSNL broad band

I have been using my IPhone5s over BSNL Wifi router and due to some erro I have replaced the same with iBaton router. After replacing it I am  not able to connect my Iphone to the wifi. I have used the normal method to search the wifi router and keyed in the wifi password, but the Iphone5s is not getting connected to wifi (its always in search mode). I am able to connect my laptop and Samsung S3 with out any difficulty and can browse the sites. I have tried few methods found over the net to connect the Iphone using static ip, though for few seconds the phone is getting connected to the wifi, it again goes back to the search mode of wifi

  • Internet not working - wifi connected but internet and server fail, ethernet cable doesn't work either

All of a sudden the internet on our Macbook Pro does not work.  We connect through an Airport Extreme and other mac works fine.  It shows that wifi is fully connected but when i go to diagnostics, i see the internet and server are failing.  I tried connecting an ethernet cable and it doesn't work that way either.  Have restarted and reset modem and router, nothing is working… help!

    Hi ehamzic1,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand how frustrating it can be when your computer cannot connect to the internet. In your situation, you will need to isolate to find what is causing the issues connecting. I would recommend reading over and working through the attached article. The article should help you troubleshoot and resolve this situation.

  • IPhone 4 - Not saving Wifi connections at work (WPA Enterprise).  Help!

    Hi everyone
I have an iPhone 4. I have no problem with my phone automatically connecting to my wireless network at home. When I go to work, my IT department gave me the network name, security, etc to connect to the company's wifi network. It connects rather quickly when I enter in the settings. When I turn the phone off and turn it back on again, it will not connect to the wireless network and does not "remember" the settings I have put it. Has anyone had this problem? Any recommendations?

bumping back to the top..... please help!

  • HT2822 Network Cable not overriding WiFi connection on Apple TV

I prefer to use the network cable so when I plug in the cable, the Apple TV continues to uses the WiFi radio. I would simply disable WiFi on the Apple TV but that's not possible. I guess I can erase the WiFi settings and password.
    Am i doing something wrong

If you have stable wifi with good connectivity it should work fine - in reality many people struggle with wifi.
I was plagued by interference issues with wifi whenever the microwave was used and would always use ethernet now as my first preference for stability.
As the house is not wired for ethernet several years ago I tried mains powerline network adapters that are made by many companies.
I use these from Devolo currently:
    http://www.devolo.co.uk/consumer/81_dlan-500-avmini_starter-kit_product-pictures _8.html?l=en
They are excellent and you can create a wired network in minutes without running long lengths of cable.
As with wifi they never achieve the highest rated speeds and are dependent on the wiring quality but are more than adequate for HD streaming to multiple AppleTVs.
Many other manufacturers produce these eg Belkin, Netgear etc as well as lesser known brands.

  • Nokia 520 not broadcasting WiFi connectivity corre...

One of the main reasons for choosing the Nokia 520 (with an unlimited data plan and very reasonable cost) was to act as a WiFi hub, particularly for travel and emergencies.
My laptop has quite happily connected over the years to many WiFi hubs.  Simply search for the device and use the supplied password - but not with the '520/Win8.
I have ensured that the WiFi s/w on the PC is fully updated to the latest versions.  The '520 can be accessed by another mobile phone in the 'normal' way (find device, enter password).  The PC will happily connect (again in the normal way) to my son's iPhone and use it as a hub.
But whilst it can see the '520 it does not try to do things in the normal way - it asks for a 'Device Access Pin' (which appears to be an 8 figure code - but which is NOT the password - and entering anything but '00000000' gets a 'Failed Checksum'). It then enters a wholly new screen, but then fails to connect.
The obvious issue is that the '520 seems not to be broadcasting the  correct information for a PC Wireless connection.  This currently makes it 'unfit for purpose'.
Is this known and will it be fixed?  Otherwise the phone will have to go back and one that does work obtained (especially as I cannot say I am a big fan of Win8 compared to my previous Nokia E7).

    grschinon,
Thank you for a very useful reply.
The question I have, therefore, from anyone from Nokia Support - is why this limitation has been built into the Phone's software and will it be changed?
For if the laptop (and many other devices) can connect happily to everything else (including the latest iPhone5), then the limitation is a particular decision by Nokia - and, most importantly, needs to be communicated to their customers.
For at present I can only determine that the Nokia 520 is indeed 'not fit for purpose' for the purpose it was bought and I will have to think of taking it back and changing it for a phone that is.
So, will a patch fix this issue, or will retailers have to publicise and communicate this fact to buyers so that they can make informed decisions?  An early reply would be appreciated.
