Not very technical...please help....videos dont stream in new macbook pro
i have just upgraded from a macbook to a macbook pro...which i simply love..and which is acing everything in every way possible...except video streaming on the net...the videos start..buffering..i think thats what its called..so that a 20 minute clip takes 40 to 50 minutes.... is there something that i need to do in the macbook pro...some setting or something that i am missing...coz i didnt have this problem in the macbook....
assuming you are using Safari. my suggestion would be to quickly validate that it isn't your laptop by using another browser like Firefox or Chrome.
if same behavior, i would check to see if your internet connection is ok.
this isn't too hard to do.
Applications>Utilities>Network Utility
Under [Info] tab: check transfer statics and see if you getting getting any errors
Under [Ping] tab: try pinging your target website ex. www.apple.com. make sure don't get packet drop.
if you are getting packet errors or drop packet, it means your network connections are not stable. if you are streaming via Wifi, try doing a direct Ethernet connection to your network device.
I can explain a bit more if these don't make sense... good luck

The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
What can I do ..??

Can anyone tell me why I can not connect my Blackberry or my iPhone to my new Macbook pro? I had no problem with my old Macbook.
What type of headphones were you using? I have a set of Microssft headsets, with the built-in mic and connected via USB, and have no problems.

External Monitor (HDMI Projector) not recognized in AE CC or AE CS6 with New Macbook Pro
Got a really tough problem that maybe someone can help me find a solution for. I had an old Macbook Pro (2009-ish) that I was using in conjunction with AE and my HDMI Projector to do projection mapping work. The laptop motherboard wore out recently (not related, I don't think) but now I've bought a new Macbook Pro and am trying to use the HDMI out to the projector as my external monitor in After Effects (I've tried both CC and CS5.5 and CS6). Under Video Preview it's not showing up as an option to send to (the choices are Computer Monitor Only or Firewire).
I am in a real mess as I am supposed to do a show this evening with a setup I've done lots of times with my old Macbook and AE, and now can't do it at all. I have to be able to have the projector receive the AE feed - and nothing I've done so far has helped. The system sees the projector, so why doesn't AE?? I can't just slide the program window into the projector's window space and enlarge - it has to be exactly 1920x1080 in order for me to align correctly.
If there are any Adobe folks lurking this morning I would CERTAINLY appreciate your input, as well as anyone else who might have had similar issues. This should work, it should be a no-brainer. Right now I'm running a new OOTB Apple Macbook Pro with HDMI out, and the latest version of AE CC with all updates performed. Please, please help!!!

BillAfter Effects does not come with components for HDMI output.
Your other computer must have had additional components installed that added this functionality.

I just got a new Macbook Pro. I've downloaded the most recent versions of Quicktime and Flash but whenever I try to view a video, it takes a while to start playing and then once it does start it freezes about every 20 seconds. I've tried everything to fix this, but have had no luck so far. The problem is not my wifi because I am able to play videos perfectly on my desktop and my iPod. I have not been able to find any solutions online either. Any suggestions? Should I upgrade to Mavericks and see if that fixes anything? Has anyone solved this issue?You are still under warranty. ok everyone this month i bought an iphone 3G and have experienced lots of problems,dropped calls phone turns off by itself for no reason and restarts,sometimes phone will be locked and music controls will show on the screen,i do have a dead pixel on the screen also, screen does not seem level like its not even or something, lock unlock button on top is uneven,i had the original iphone and it was built with quality this phone ***** really bad, well i made an appointment with a macgenuis to replace the phone, but today i accidently dropped it and no there is a two scratches in each corner and there seems to be a small gap between the screen and the metal on one side, this phone is really cheap quality, what i wanted to know if apple will still exchange the phone under warranty or now will they question it becuase i dropped it, but its not fair becuase the problem was before i dropped it and it was horrible and also i turn off 3G becuase sometimes i hear myself echoing and not the other person and sometimes also i hear a crackling noise.... please help what should i do

Every warranty claim is on a case by case basis. If a fellow user tells you - sure Apple will exchange your iPhone and Apple doesn't exchange it due to the accidental damage, what you are told here carries no weight in this regard.

I want to mirror my MacBook Pro's screen to my HDTV. I had it at one time by clicking the Mirror Icon on my upper menu bar but I do not have it any more?
What am I missing? In the System Perferences the display menu seems incomplete. There is no where in there to set my MacBook Pro to mirroring.
Can someone please help me?

ThanksThe mirroring selection is in the "Arrangement" tab and only shows up on the MacBook Pro LCD, not the external display.

Hi Guys! I can not create new partition on my MacBook Pro. I don't what just happened on it. Before i could but these fews day i can't. When I try to create new partition it said: Partition failed. couldn't modify partition map because file system verify failed. My HHD is samsung sata 640GB.

I am having so much trouble.
I bought the new MBP 17 and used it for three weeks and I had at least 10 crashes.
My DVD drive didn't work for a week and my friend told me to restart it and it worked.
Just right now, my battery wasn't charging so I had to restart again and it worked.
I don't know. Yeah the hardware is pretty and the customer service is all great but I am so disappointed by their performance.
I 've been using Window 7 at work for 3-4 months and I didn't have any crash and any problem.
I think it's great for doing daily tasks but as a professional use, I don't recommend it. -

You just input the 4-digit PIN that you were given when you locked your machine over iCloud.

I tried downloading AND RUNNING the upgrader and I'm stuck in an infinite loop. After running the upgrader from the utilities folder, it looks like things are working. Then a window pops up asking me to launch iphoto to complete the upgrade. After launching iphoto, iphoto goes back to the original error message that I need to download the upgrader.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the upgrader multiple times to no avail. I've also tried dragging my iphoto library from the external hard drive it is housed on to many different areas before trying to launch the upgrader, none of them worked. The external hard drive format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I also tried dragging the iphoto library folder in the pictures file onto my new Macbook right next to my new iphoto library folder. This allowed me to open up iphoto (Yay!) but of course, none of the photos from my old iphoto library were in their, even when the old library was selected.
I've read what seems like hundreds of posts on this same issue, but can't seem to find a solution that works for me. I want to simply transfer my iphoto library from an external hard drive (my old macbook just crashed, so this is the only option) to my new macbook, keeping the albums, slideshows, and organization intact.
I would appreciate any help or feedback. Thank you in advance for reading this!Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

You can do that IF you have Find My Mac enabled under iCloud - report it to the Police first of all, then go to iCloud.com and sign in. Then go to Find My iPhone and click on your Macbook - that is the only way to do this - and that is IF it hasnt been wiped and is online
