Not waking up after recent patches
I've been using my new iMac for over a month now, and it's wonderful.
One of the things I loved was that the sleep actually worked compared to my Windows machines.
Well after the last patches (iTunes and two other patches) that required a reboot, my iMac is behaving weird when I try to wake it up from sleep.
Going to sleep works fine, but when I try to wake it up, either using the mouse, keyboard, power switch or the remote, it acts like something has turned on (the sleep light goes out) but the screen never comes on.
Hitting keyboard functions doesn't do anything (i.e. I hear no click when changing the volume, disc eject doesn't work) and I've read the other posts about issues with USB devices, so I unplugged everything except my keyboard and mouse, but still the same results.
I REALLY liked having it sleep correctly, and I hope someone can tell me how to either fix it, or back out the patches from last week which seem to have triggered this.
Thanks
Welcome to Discussions!
First, check that your firmware is up to date: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303903
If so, typically your resolution should be either of these two:
SMC reset - this is simple, no risk, and should be repeated if not successful the first try. Many have reported using that a somewhat longer time period helped, but I think it's just a matter of the more tries the more chance of success:)
or
PRAM reset - simple, once is enough. A good real-time check on whether you've done it right: first set your iMac's sound level high or low and then listen to the sound level of the startup chord that sounds during the reset in comparison - the PRAM reset if successfull will reset the sound level to the default (mid-point).
To reset the PRAM:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following four keys on the keyboard: Command (Apple logo), option, P, and R. You will need to hold these four keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Start up the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination after the startup chord sounds, but before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold all four keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chord for the second time.
6. Release the keys.

After recent patch upgrade, BW delta Data loads for 2LIS_02_ITM failing
Hi All
We have patched our BW 3.5 system from 16 to 25. After updating patches, I am geetting delta load issues.
2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_scl delta loads are taking long long time. Deltas are failing even for 3000 records . some time it is taking 14 hours . Delta loads are failing and I am getting below message. Please advise.
I am still getting below dump and i could not find any errors in
ST22. Please see below error.
Processing in Warehouse timed out; processing steps mising
Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the
processing step Update rules has still not been executed.
System response
<DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are
running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.
Thanks
PramodHello Pramod,
Is this load is to load to initial level ODS? If Yes I understand that you have issue in loading but not at activation of the ODS?
Normally this kind of issue comes during the activation of ODS.
1. If you are getting this during the data loads, then try to check loading only to PSA first and then from PSA to target? And check how much time that it's taking as this will help to track the issue whether its present in Source or in BW?
2. If the load is fine till PSA then try loading the same to ODS and then check whether this issue is present or not?
3. At the same you need to check the source side the system load and the number of processors which are available?
4. Did you perform the delta queue draining before the stack upgrade in R/3 or not? Normally as a pre-requisite this needs to be done if not then you will have issues in extracting the data!
5. Finally this can be avoided by having Initwithout data transfer and then performing the Delta loads. BUt for this need to first extract all the data from Source to BW and then take a down time in R/3 for few min and perform this activity so that the Init Timstamp will be reset properly and the Delta should work fine for you.
Do get back to us with more details.
Thanks

Problems with IE11 on W8.1 pro - after recent patch?
Couple of problems have appeared recently with IE11 on Windows 8.1 Pro - everything was fine, but I am assuming a recent patch has caused the problem. Problems are not seen on IE11 on Windows 7 Pro or on other browsers. I'm running on auto-update,
so should have the latest software versions.
1) Extra white space is inserted before a table. It happens on multiple web sites. Length of the space varies and could make you think the page has failed. It appears to be consistent for a page but I see no pattern between
pages.
2) Multi level Menus implemented through CSS with drop downs to the side are suddenly inordinately sensitive when moving into the drop down making the menu almost useless.

Applications not showing up after recent 10.6.4 update
I have a Mac Book Pro (Model A1151) from 2006 that I was running an early version of Tiger on when it began giving me problems last week. At that point, I reinstalled my original software that came with the computer and that did not help. After that, I purchased 10.6.4 and my applications worked for awhile then they stopped working again.
This is very odd and I am at a loss for what may be causing this.
The applications that are no longer showing up are:
Parellels (5)
iTunes
Firefox
Quicktime
Keynote
Numbers
Pages
Any input and/or ideas of what may be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated.Click once on every application and select Get Info from the file menu.
Then compare with the versions on these links:
http://download.cnet.com/mac/1950-20_4-0.html?filter=os%3D142%7C&filterName=os%3 DMacOS+X+10.6Intel%7C
http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
http://www.macintouch.com/specialreports/snowleopard/slcompat.html
In addition to the third party links if you can find them. If any are not matching with 10.6.4 exactly, you might want to contact the vendor to ask if it is 10.6.4 compatible or not. Also make sure all the applications in question are in the Applications folder. If you are launching them from the Dock, the translucent bar, click once until you can select Show in Finder. If any of the said applications are outside of the Applications folder on the boot hard drive, it may be you are launching the wrong version. Anything in the Finder window's left sidebar is also a shortcut. -
Not waking up after sleep?
Anyone's Macbook does not wake up after a long period of sleep?
I've been experiencing the same problem with my MBP's failure to wake up after going to sleep. It doesn't seem to have an descernible pattern... it just won't wake up sometimes (not always). And to those who figure RAM will solve the problem, I have the full 2 gigs of RAM, and it still goes into a coma. At the office I use it docked to a 20" CRT screen, as well as several other peripherals such as hard drives, tablet, scanner, etc..... but it also goes inexplicably comatose when simply used as an unconnected laptop machine. It doesn't have to be a long sleep either... It became very embarrassing last week when before a major client presentation I checked my MBP materials, closed the lid and waited about 15-20 minutes for my shot at wowwing my clients... where it promptly failed to fire up and do its job. I had to ask them to wait while I rebooted... as they made typical PC jokes about Macs.
All I get from my local Mac dealer is "It shouldn't do that. Have you tried [insert list of ineffectual fixes here]?

Opportunities with Products not pulling after recent patch
I have multiple opportunities with products and costs associated with them that are not pulling when I run a historical report.
For example:
I run a report on Thursday at 2:00 PM. I have a user who has modified an opportunity on Thursday morning. I understand my historical report pulls everything from the previous day (Wednesday) and prior. However, they only changed the closing date on the opportunity. They did not change anything about the product. The product has had a quantity and cost associated to it since creation (9/2/10). Just because they changed the closing date this automatically rejects the opportunity from the historical report?
My report is supposed to pull every opportunity with associated products and costs. It seems to be neglecting anything that was modified on the day it is ran.
Also, I should mention that the reason I am running a historical report is because the real-time report seemed to be doing the same thing. It wasn't including opportunities with products clearly associated to it. These opportunities would be included in a "opportunity - no product" report.
Thank youCheck that the currencies are set on both the header and products. There is a note about this in the R18 notes.

Computer will not boot up after recent software install
I recently tried to install a series of software updates. Not all were successful. Soon therafter the computer froze up while in safari. I turned it off and the computer would not boot up on restart, and instead sent me to the darwin login screen. I rebooted in safe mode per these forums, and turned off an itunes startup function, and then rebooted. That seemed to do the trick as I could now get back into the OS, but the computer was dreadfully slow. It froze up again in Safari and I turned it off again, and this time it would not go past the grey startup screen with the apple. I tried safe mode again, but the computer would shut down around 30 seconds after the wheel below the grey apple started turning. I Was able to get my Tiger Install DVD in the drive, and turned the computer back on, but now just get the grey apple screen and the wheel spinning indefinitely. I cannot do an erase and install because my photos are not backed up. Please help!
ThanksHi, Deaton41. Welcome to the Discussions.
You wrote: "I recently tried to install a series of software updates. Not all were successful."I suspect the only way you are going to resolve this is by performing an Archive and Install. For important tips on this process, see my "General advice on performing an Archive and Install" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the specified order. If you follow my FAQ's steps to the letter, then your photos should be AOK, assuming directory corruption hasn't damaged them. I suspect directory corruption is the root cause of the unsuccessful software updates, which that then led to your current problem re: start up.
Before installing future software updates, you may wish to consider the advice in my "Installing Software Updates" FAQ. Taking the steps therein before installing an update often helps avert problems and gives you a fallback position in case trouble arises.
Good luck!

Bonjour not wakeing up after sleep - again
It happens again, and again: after wakeing up from sleep, the network services do not wake up.
After my iMac wakes up, Safari tells me, that no "Internet Connection" is established. However, with ping etc., everything is fine. In "Bonjour Browser" I see that no Bonjour services are running at all!
This happens with only Ethernet cable connected in about 20% of all wakeups. Very annoying.
To solve it, I activate Airport, and deactivate immediately, then Bonjour wakes up and my internet connection, too.
Any hints? My former posting was archived (who?) and not yet answered.I have exactly the same problem with my Mac mini 2009, also running MacOS X 10.6.3 – but on a more regular basis than you (in about 50% of cases). I don't have Little Snitch running, so whatever is the reason, it's not that.

EBay messaging not working properly after recent FF 30 update
After the latest security release today for Firefox 30, eBay's messaging page has a problem when entering replies. When you start entering text in the reply field, every keystroke causes a return keystroke as well which creates space between the text your typing and the bottom of the reply window. Every keystroke enlarges the text window by one line. So by the time you are finished with the reply, there is so much space between the reply and the bottom of the window that you have to scroll to get to the bottom. For long replies with a couple hundred keystrokes, the window becomes huge. This same problem happens with any computer that has updated to the most recent Firefox 30. The computers I tried this on worked fine with the previous version then as soon as it was updated, the problem starts. Any ideas?

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and click History button, and then Clear Recent History... .
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Sat C855 - today I downloaded the 2 recent updates & now my function keys aren't working properly. Anyone one else have that problem? What can I do?
Hi! Night shift here! You can find the full model number on the bottom of your laptop. Jerry might not log on again tonight!

Not syncing ipad after recent update-windows vista mobile and yahoo go sync
I recently purchased the ipad, updated itunes to the latest version and installed a bunch of apps. Everything seems to work well except, I cannot sync contacts, calendars, notes, and bookmarks. When I attempt to sync these my computer shows an error message of "mobile sync has stopped working". Then I get an error message that "Yahoo go sync client has stopped working". I have not used MobileMe. I think that this will be a common problem with this update, and apple will need to submit a corrected version to fix this problem. There have been other posts on this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
I have EXACTLY the same problem. Can anybody help please?!
