Not working my facetime?

my facetime is not working

Make sure in SETTINGS->FACETIME that you enable it. If it is already enabled, disable it, turn off your device, turn it back on after 30 seconds, go back into settings and enable facetime again.

  • TS4185 Blackmagic ultrastudio not working with facetime

Blackmagic ultrastudio not working with facetime, however the audio of the ultrastudio is recognised and can be selected in the source section what can i do to get facetime recognise it? also wirecast virtual camera is detected and recognised by facetime but doesnot work anyway to fix that?

Best option is to do a reset (restart) of the iPad to do this press and hold the On/Off button and the Home button, until the Apple logo appears.  It will show you the "Slide to power off" just carry on holding the two buttons down until the logo appears and then release and that should have your FaceTime working again with your cameras.

  • Microphone does not work in Facetime

    Hi
I read other posts and in Maverik I didn't find simmilar problem, for most people their microphone does not work after few minutes, but in my case, microphone does not work at all in Facetime, so I can hear the other end, but they can not hear me! This happened after updating Mavericks.
    My Mac specs:
    Macbook Pro 2013
    OSx 10.9.1 (Mavericks)
    things I already tested:
I tried to use headphone and without headphone, but it didn't make any difference
Microphone works fine in Skype and other softwares (Audacity, YahooMessenger, etc.)
Tried with WiFi and with Ethernet cable
    Internet speed is 2.3MBps
Router's firewall does not have any restriction for certain ports
Tried turning facetime Off and On
Tried to call iPhone 5s, iPad2 and MacBook Pro each in different network and different countries!
... and finally searching internet for hours (which obviously came up with nothing)
I'll be thankful if somebody help me through, all suggestions are welcome, so please don't hesitate to post.

    Same issue here....
8-core Mac Pro, Lion, Original External iSight camera connected via FireWire 400 through the FireWire jack on the 23" Apple Cinema Display.
Audio and video work fine using iChat and making video clips through any/all apps.
However, using FaceTime.....incoming audio and video are fine, outgoing video is fine, but outgoing audio is missing.  Nobady can hear me.
Sorry guys...you can't doll this one up or spin it in any other direction......it's a bug pure and simple.
Feel free to fix it whilst you're dealing with all the other problems that Lion has.

  • My Apple ID is not working for FaceTime or iMessage

It seems other people are having the same issue with the new iOS 7, my Apple ID doesn't work for FaceTime or iMessage. Has anyone found a solution without resetting the iPad

    Hey Fabio-Luzmery,
Thanks for the question. In my experience, the steps outlined in the "Unable to activate FaceTime or iMessage with phone number and Apple ID after waiting 24 hours (iPhone only)" section of the following article usually resolves this issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268
Follow these steps if your phone number and Apple ID do not activate after waiting 24 hours.
    1. Back up your iPhone in iTunes.
    2. Disconnect the iPhone from iTunes.
    3. Turn FaceTime and iMessage off:
              - Settings > FaceTime
              - Settings > Messages
    4. Navigate to Settings > General > Reset and select "Erase all content and settings".
    5. In the iOS setup assistant, select "Set Up as New iPhone".
    6. Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage. Go to:
              - Settings > FaceTime and tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime"
              - Settings > Messages and tap "Use your Apple ID with iMessage"
    7. Verify that FaceTime and iMessage activate successfully. It may take up to 24 hours to complete activation. When activation is successful, a check mark will be visible next to your phone number and email address in Settings > FaceTime and Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
    8. Disable automatic syncing in iTunes.
              - For Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and select the option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK.
              - For Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and select the option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK.
    9. Connect the iPhone and restore from the backup. Do not perform a full restore.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IOS 8.0.2 camera app not working but FaceTime camera does?

Went today and had a new screen installed on my 5c and I initially thought that the camera hardware had been mis-installed, bexause opening the camera app yielded a fuzzy image and then a freeze. I tried installing other camera apps and the image doesnt work there. I tried FaceTime and lo and behold, the camera works for FaceTime only. Help?
Also, there are no restrictions set for my phone.
    Thanks!

Why would it be Ebay's fault when it was working perfectly before? It's only since I upgraded to ios 8.0.2 this has happened, so explain why Ebay is at fault?
There are more than a million 3rd parties apps, do you think Apple should wait until all the apps are updated before they release the IOS?
Apps developers should alway test if their apps can run on the latest platform not the other way round.
That's why you have this compatibility info.

  • My Microphone is not working in Facetime (iPad2)

The microphone is not working when i use various applications on my iPad2, i am not sure if it happens when i upgrade the IOS to the latest version. Is there someone with the same issue as mine?
Pls. help. Facetime is useless without the microphone...

Saw this on another post - iPad 2 mic not working.
I can confirm vacuuming the mic worked for me. I hadn't used the mic on the iPad 2 for quite a few months, then noticed when trying a VOIP telephone call, the other person could not hear me at all. Vacuuming the mic (tiny hole on the centre, top edge of the iPad) restored the mic to normal.
A tip, when vacuuming, get as much suction as you can by using the crevice tool attachhment on the vaccum and using your fingers to close off as much of the nozzzel opening as possible to maximize the suction.  I noticed it took about 30 seconds of vaccumming before the mic worked again. 5-10 seconds wasn't enough. So if it doesn't work at first, keep vacuuming.
The mic is as good as new. Now, on a VOIP call, I can hear the wall clock ticking away at the other person's end. The iPad makes a great conference phone. That mic is super sensitive.
Thanks to all the other posters on this forum for the mic repair tips. It really has saved my iPad as it's out of warranty.

  • I participated in my company's video conference last week, and now the camera on my Macbook Air will not work for facetime or skype.  Help!!

I participated in video conference with my company last week, and now I cannot use Facetime or Skype because the camera is not working?  Help, I cannot find the button to free up my camera!!

If you installed some kind of software to take part in the conference, remove it.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

  • Microphone not working in Facetime

When I do a call, regardless if it's on FaceTime or on FaceTime using the iPhone link, the microphone is not working. I am able to hear what the other person is saying but they cannot hear me. Seems like my iMac is always muted.
I went into the control panel / sound and the internal microphone is selected as the input device. When I talk, I see that the iMac is hearing me because the graph show. (Sorry not sure what it's called). So it should work but nothing goes to the FaceTime app.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I am having the same problem... it was working fine up until the last week, then it stopped.

  • External usb microphone not working with FaceTime and mac mini with os x Yosemite

    Hello
When I try to do a phone call with face time through my iphone 6 face time is not recognizing my external usb microphone connected to my mac mini. I have just updated my mac mini to os x Yosemite. If I go to the audio system preferences and look to the audio input signal I can see that the external microphone (SB Omni Surround 5.1) is working (audio input level is showing an input signal).
Can someone help. I saw that this was also an issue in the beta versions of Yosemite.
    Thanks.
    BR Stefan

Interesting.  I don't have a USB mic on the Mac Pro.  Its the OLD FireWire 300 iSight.  It works for FaceTime calls but not the iPhone call via the FaceTime app.
I also have 2010 MBP that works perfectly, even since the first Public Beta.  I'm to sure if that mic is considered an external USB device or not, or if it has to do with device signatures vs. external or internal.  I would almost assume that the built-in mic is on the USB bus.  How would it be any different than the external USB.
I think I have to agree that this is a point release bug.  I have submitted a bug report at bugreport.apple.com, and would ask others to do the same, or at least post to apple.com/feedback.  The more noise we make through process the more likely to get a fix in the .1 release.

  • Touch not working in Facetime mode

I recently bought a new 32Gb Touch 4th Gen and everything has been working fine. I have used it regularly to do Facetime with family in the UK, but today it stopped working on Facetime. I have powered it down and restarted, but no joy. All other WiFi in the house is OK. Have even unplugged router and restarted that. When a call comes in it asks 'Accept' or 'Decline' but when I accept it just says 'Facetime failed'. The same happens when I call someone. Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear that but if you only experience this with some games I think that you will have to contact the game developer to check if this is something that may need to be optimized for your device.

    Many thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,

  • My apple ID is not working with Facetime or Messages, but works on the apple site and other applications. Why is this happening?

My Messages and Facetime applications say my apple ID or password is incorrect when it works for other applications including icloud, and works on the apple id website. I have reinstalled Mountain Lion upon request of an apple advisor but there is still no luck and other apple IDs work on the applications. Why is this happening?

Yes, you will need to call Apple at this point for further assistance.
