Note 3 Samsung Proprietary Power cord

Does anyone else know how to resolve the issue of these not working and the availability of them being "NONE"?

Tis true but the original cord is used to plug into a computer and manage the Note 3 through interface and to be able to transfer pics etc, as I was told. The problem is that there was a big batch of them that were manufactured incorrectly prior to Feb 2014 and there was a big wave of people coming into the VW stores to get replacements because when they were connected an error came back. The VW stores were just giving a regular charging cable and adapter (cord). Well when I did that the VW person took my broken Samsung cord and now I can't get it replaced on warranty by Samsung! And now just recently I gave in to just buying one and there is a back-order of them but now I have come to the conclusion that technically VW should warranty my whole phone and power cord or something as this is all there fault as they mismanaged the whole thing from the beginning!!! This is why I am looking for the VW tech support number (other post)! got it and calling them now.

can you please tell me whats wrong with my mbp and how do i resolve it

First check the connections on the power adapter and the MBP.  Make certain that they are clean and see if the spring loaded connectors on the power adapter are not stuck.
    Try a SMC reset:

If available, try another power adapter.
If no success, bring the MBP and the power adapter to an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

  • IMac G5 does not turn on after power cord knocked off

I have an iMac G5 that I recently passed on to my daughter. For the past few years it has been working fine except for one occasion that I replaced the power supply. At that time it was still covered by warranty and Apple sent me a replacement unit that I installed myself. Lately, the power cord was knocked off while the computer was on and now it will not turn on completely. It starts for about 15 seconds up to the gray Apple logo then the screen goes blank. I monitored the LEDs and all 3 do turn on then the computer shuts down. At first I thought it's the power supply that was affected with the power cord accident, and bought a replacement unit. I have just installed it but still the same problem exist. I am now asking for help from the expert souls out there to save this computer. Thanks.

No more ideas except to try starting from the install disc and see if that works. Resetting the PRAM might jolt it back to life, it's worth a try, but I am not hopeful.
If you do take it in, please let us know whether it was the logic board...

  • Macbook will not start up with power cord plugged in

    hi,
my macbook core duo, wont startup anymore with the power cord.
It does work with a battery though. But the problem is that the cord is not charging the battery anymore and not even giving power to the machine.
the light on the cord is green. I tried with another power cord, it does the same.
i even changed the dc-in board, with no luck.
    any ideas ?

I have the exact same problem. There is a buzz from the region where the power connection is, and I'm afraid it is a power hardware issue. Since the optical drive already quit on this first gen MacBook, I think it's time to chuck this lemon.

  • Envy DV7 laptop will not boot without the power cord being connected

My laptop won't boot on its own even when the battery indicator reads "fully charged (97%). If I have the power cord plugged into the computer (and the wall), it boots right away. Without the power cord, the "power indicator light" flashes once, the screen brightens to a lighter shade of gray, then it just shuts down.
I'm thinking I need to replace the battery but I thought it best to check with the experts first...................☺
    Thanks!!
ETA..........I just saw the post about power cord failure. My power cord is one of those affected and I will be filling out the request for a replacement. Unfortunately my serial number is apparently located inside the battery compartment. I'm wondering if my cord has overheated and caused this boot problem with my computer.

  • Charger power cord broken after replacement lastest 1 day vendor university of SAskatchewan bookstore refused to replace the dam cord Thats two chords @ 98.00 $ I have used my fathers and sisters chords which have no faults why is it that a defective cord

Power chord lasted 1 day after another replacement. When 2 other power chords are borrowed in this household no problems. Vendor sold the last one that lasted 1 day( 2 i phones 3 mac pros and 5 i pods in one household not enough?) The power cord that was purchased at the University of Saskatchewan Bookstore lasted 1 day and they say it malfunctioned by user. The chord is brittle and frayed. All products bought in this household from same vendor. Apple you have some products that are poorly made admit it look at feedback pages. Is gouging a University Student for 98.00$  for faulty cords the corporate objective or standing behind your products after sale a respondsibility of seller? Keep producing a good product with faulty accessories and you will continue to do well unless you value your entire product line. What are you willing to do?

Your statement of displeasure on this forum is being directed at other Apple users like yourself.  If you want your feelings known by the Apple corporation, you should communicate with them by sending a letter to Cupertino or perhaps registering your complaint with an Apple store manager.  You may get sympathy here but no results.
    Ciao.

  • My touchpad (mouse) stops working when I connect it to the power cord?

It works fine when It's not connected to the power cord... but as soon as I connect it and I try to use my touch pad it just goes erractic and like I can't click anything and it's just unusable.  What can I do to fix this (aside from buying a new power cord....)
    My computer is updated completely.
    It is a Macbook.

  • Macbook Air 13 shuts down if power cord isn't connect

My new (apr 2012) mb air 13 has randomly started shutting down if the power cord is not connected...At first, it was just randomly shutting down every 5-10mins, rebooting, and then shutting down again. I updated the software, and now - when plug into power - seems to work ok. However, if it is not connected to the power cord, it shuts down almost instantly.
Has anyone had this issue? Can anyone help? Thanks a million to anyone who can through their hat in the ring on this one...

Seems like your battery is on it's last legs.
Or, it could be that there is a loose connection somewhere between the battery and your logic board.  This I highly doubt since you're getting a "Service Battery" notice.
To be sure, take it to the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Dealer/Service Center to be sure.
Click on the apple logo on your top left corner, about this mac, more info, system report and under power, see what it says about your battery.
You'll then know if your battery is dead.

  • Audigy 2 Platinum EX Power Cord Question, pls he

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum EX with the external I/O box. I switched the room's my computers were in a while back, so I switched soundcard's to keep the I/O Box and surround sound speakers in the same room. Apparently When I switched them I did not hook up the power cord to the Audigy 2 card, and I can not find it. Is there anyplace I can get a replacement cord at? I have several brand new cord's that has Molex (power supply type end to hard dri've and cd dri'ves) on one end, and a smaller 4 pin's on the other that fit's onto the power port on the Audigy 2, is that the same type of cord or would that work? Thanks!

any FDD type power plug should work

  • Tip power cord broke off inside outlet.

The very tip of the male end of my power adaptor broke off INSIDE the computer. It is now stuck in the computer's power outlet. How do I get it out without disassembling my powerbook?
I should add that the outlet is still working and my replacement adaptor charges it, it's just that it doesn't sit comfortably with the other thing still inside it and occasionally it makes a little crackling noise (no sparks, just the noise)
Also, this is the second time that this happened with an Apple power cord in the space of a year. I am not unduly abusing my power cords, so what am I doing to cause this? Are Apple's power adaptors shoddy or is it me?

Yes, that will always be a danger.. which is why you use a tiny tiny amount of glue, and let it dry. You'll be able to pull it out, even if it glues to the metal.. as a non-pourous surface, the bond with the super glue won't be very strong.
Personally, I'd very seriously consider stripping the machine down, following the instructions at http://www.ifixit.com

  • Buy an additional second power cord

I have a few TVs, so I would like to buy an additional or second power cord for my Apple TV2, then I will be able to connect the Apple TV2 to different TV sets without the hassle of re-connecting the power cord each time (behind the TV, etc.). Any suggestions on where to buy a compatible power cord? Apple does not sell just the power cord.

they are just standard "figure 8" power cords, so any electrical hardware store should have them.

  • PowerBook crashes with power cord connected

I have just upgraded my memory. I added another 512MB to the existing 512MB. Everything runs fine until I connect the power cord. The system crashes/ freezes as aoon as the power cord is connected, and the system will not start with the power cord connected. I have tried taking out the battery and starting with just the power cord witht the same results.
This would not be such a big deal if my battery had some life left in it, at the most I can get 45 minutes before I have to recharge.

Try setting your energy saver processor speed settings to "highest" for both battery and power adapter operation. If this fixes the problem, your second ram chip is not "bus slewing" compatible. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=227369&tstart=0

  • MacBook shuts off without power cord, even when battery is charged

I bought my MacBook in October. I've been treating it really delicately. But for some reason, it will not run without the power cord plugged in (as of yesterday morning).
If I pull it out, it shuts down. If I try to start it up without the cord, it shuts down. It gets about 2-3 seconds before it just shuts off. (It will run in sleep mode without the cord plugged in.)
And for a brief time yesterday evening, it worked without the cord plugged in.
This is my first Mac and I have no idea what is going on.

This is a recently common issue with Macbook Lith-ion batteries.
You have a defective battery, although AppleTech defines defective as a battery below 350 cycle counts. That's the lifetime of your $130 battery, which may average between 6-13 months depending on how you use it.
Some customers have had to buy 3 batteries in the past 2 years because AppleCare doesn't cover consumable items, eg. batteries.
check consumer comments at http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?fnode=h ome/shopmac/macaccessories/power&revw=MA561LL/A
I'm hoping Apple will realize that a $130 macbook battery with a 350 cycle count lifetime, doesn't live up to "Apple" standards. Lith-ion batteries are known to have a 2-3 year lifetime not 6-13 months.
Customers shouldn't have to purchase AppleCare only to realize they have to continuously purchase new batteries every 6-13 months.
This is truly a manufacturer defect in my personal opinion.
