Thank God it proceeded....but it stayed on that red Verizon screen forever...now I just hope that the rest goes smoothly

Samsung Galaxy S4 stuck on Verizon boot screen after installing update
A few days ago my phone prompted me to install a software update, which I did. Since then, the phone (which was functioning perfectly fine before I installed the update) started acting up. I kept getting messages about apps that stopped working, then the phone started randomly rebooting itself, and now it has been stuck on the Verizon Startup screen. After reading several posts on this site I tried the following: (1) remove battery and reboot; (2) try reboot in safety mode keeping the volume button down during start up; (3) empty cache using menu that appears when holding volume button up during reboot; and finally (4) delete all data and restore factory settings (using same method as under (3)). All of this didn't work and I'm still stuck on the same white Verizon screen.
Of course this happens while I am travelling abroad for 10 days and have no access to Verizon until I'm back. Is there anything I can do that I haven't tried yet? Or is my only option to get a new phone?
Reading some of the other posts, it seems that more and more people are having the same issue after the latest software update. VERIZON - PLEASE HELP!!!Hello Flying_Dutchman

Imac 5k stuck on apple logo screen after latest update
Hi - i have a magazine deadline and a major issue:
i've been having loads of kernel panics (see thread here Brand new imac 5k kernel panic) and having seen there was a new update figured it would be worth installing it to see if it fixed them as nothing so far suggested by apple support has helped. Once it had downloaded the update the OS said it needed to reboot to finish installation. It got half way through the loading bar on the apple logo screen and got stuck. I left it an hour, came back still nothing. Left it another hour and it was still just stuck half way. I rebooted into diagnostics and ran that and it said everything was fine but further reboots just get as far as halfway through the bar. I'm now stuck as the computer was only a month or so old and i hadn't yet set up back up on it. I was still in the process of getting everything configured and over from my old machine. Problem is I have a bunch of photos that were transferred on to it that i shot 2 weeks ago and I need them for a magazine deadline tomorrow and apple support options could only call me back on Thursday - if anyone can suggest anything i will be VERY grateful. I've already tried SMC and PRAM resets.I did that, a fresh OS install and it worked for about 4 hours then i got a kernel panic

I set my phone to update overnight, woke up this morning and it showed an icon to plug the phone into iTunes. Upon plugging in the phone, itunes said the phone needed to be restored first. iTunes downloaded an update and went through the motions, then said that the phone was not eligable.
What do I do? It won't show anything other than the apple logo.Try updating to the latest version of iTunes.

Try a reset. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

IMac will not boot up - stuck on grey logo screen after restoring
I recently attempted to restore my iMac using the time machine back up. I followed the instructions to the letter, found the back up I wanted to restore from and selected. All seemed to go well. I was presented with a screen that said something like "restore successful click restart to continue". I did this and when the machine restarted it just freezes on the opening screen with the grey apple logo and spinning wheel. I searched for advice and have since tried restoring from another back up - same problem. I have run the disk repair and all is fine. The iMac is just under a year old so hopefully still covered by manufacturer warranty. Any suggestions how I can fix before lugging the machine 35 miles to the local Apple store?

Thanks for your advice. I have a wireless keyboard and no access to a wired one until tomorrow. Tried your instructions but nothing happened. I know the keyboard works as I can open up the mac os install disk by pressing 'c' on start up.
I was restoring from backup as I had made a mess of my music and photo folders since trying to sync up an iPad using another account. Thought it was easier to restore my mac to a week earlier when everything worked fine - so far this has backfired!! -

I've encountered the same problem with my iPhone 4, part way through updating to ios7 amessage came up on my computer "itunes has encountered an error and needs to shut down" I'm now left with the apple symbol with a line underneath it on my phone. iteunes doesn't recognise that my phone is plugged into the computer nor can I switch my phone off.

Blank black home screen after lollipop update!
My phone is: Xperia Z3 Compact
After updating my phone from android 4.4.4. To lollipop 5.0.2, I get a blank black home screen, and I can't access anything in the phone except notifications and settings when scrolling from top.
The 3 buttons in the bottom are there but do not function.
This happens randomly about 2-3 times everyday for no specific reason and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone by the power button, otherwise the update is great and everything is working good.
Anyone knows how to fix it please?hi is there any solution?I just bought a new phone after update and I have a black screen I can't connect pc companion asks me for a PIN, maybe I should send a phone for service please help regards,a.

Z1 Compact: blank screen after lollipop update. when try to repair i get an error massage (302)
I've updated my xperia Z1 compact to lollipop using OTA service. I used 4 different computers, disabled the firewall and the anti virus, ran it in compatibilty mode and made sure java was installed. all the computers passed the system requirements and had broadband internet connection, still the same error every time.what to do now?

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation. A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number. I suggest you turn iMessage off. In settings/phone turn on dial assist. Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage. Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

thank you !Try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer, hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, then release the Power button, keep holding the Home button, for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Then click the Restore button of iTunes.
