Note 455140

Hi,
I'm having problems with this section of note 455140:
"5. Settings on the mail server (SAP-external configuration)
To be able to receive mails in the SAP system, you need to set your mail server so that certain mail addresses are forwarded to one or several SAP systems or clients. For this purpose, you need to define routing rules that assign a mail host and/or port to address areas (generic address parts, usually the domain), for example:
      *@crm-prod.company.com  -->  SAPWASHost:25000
      *@crm-test.company.com  -->  SAPWASHost:25001
Does any one know to define routing rules in exchange server.
Thanks,
Eran.

Hi Eran,
Thanks for accepting my advise
You can refer to this link which would give you an insight how to do the settings in RZ10 t-code.

  • Inbound email and note 455140

I'm trying to get inbound email working in our ECC 5.0 sandbox.  I've configured the system using the note 455140 including setting up a virtual SMTP port number of 25012.
Is there a way to get mail into the system without having to use an external mail server as described in point 5?  If so how do I deal with the virtual SMTP port and any MX records/DNS entries our network admin will have to setup.
If an extra email server is needed can I take advantage of the STMP server on the iseries?
    thanx
    Mark

    Hello Mark,
To receive emails, SAP has to work with another mail server (SMTP server). Typically the emails are transfered through "SMTP server on the Internet (provided by your ISP)" --> "SMTP server on the Intranet (company Email system like Unix, Exchange, Notes, etc)" --> SAP.
Basically Point 5 states that your company Email system (external mail server outsides of SAP) has to know that for certain emails, forward them to SAP instead of looking up its own user list or forwarding to another SMTP serer.
You should be able to use SMTP service of iSeries. But keep in mind that you still need to configure the SMTP server outsides to forward certain emails to the iSeries, then configure iSeries to forward them to SAP. (I don't see any advantage for this solution if there is another SMTP server on the Intranet already)
    Best regards,
    Victor

  • Inbound email configuration is not working in SAP CRM 7.0

We have issue with the Inbound mail in SAP CRM 7.0, the emails from external ID (eg *@gmail.com) unable to receive in SAP Mailbox.
SMTP Settings as per the note : 455140 have been done and its working fine, we are able to send email from SAP to external server.
Also as per the note 607108 telnet test was successful and we can see the email in SOIN,
However if we send a mail from Gmail to SAP it is not visible in SOIN and it is bouncing back with error
    said: 553 5.1.8 <[email protected]>... Domain of sender address
[email protected] does not exist (in reply to MAIL FROM command)
I have attached screenshot of the SOIN.

    Hi Garcia,
I have checked with the Network team who manages Exchange server and they have mentioned that it is bouncing back from our CRM host with the error as below,

  • SO01 email not successfully sent out

    Dear all,
I have 2 clients DEV111 & DEV222, both are configured with SMTP to allow sending out email.
DEV111 - is configured to be able to send email only and it works.
DEV222 - is configured to be able to send and receive email. Receiving email is working based on steps in notes 455140. But sending email does not work. The sending email configuration is same as in DEV111.
    To send email in DEV222
    1) SO01 --> New message
    2) Fill in title, the contents and the recipient address. The recipient type is "Internet address" and Express Mail is ticked.
    3) Click Send.
    4) SCOT --> Start send process, it says No messages sent.
    5) Then check in the outbox, SO01 --> Outbox --> Documents, the email is there, but the Send Date, Recipient and the Send Status are blank. The Send Time is 00:00:00
6.) To check the send status in SOST also nothing.
    Action taken
    1) Check SMTP status in SMICM --> Goto --> Services. SMTP is active
    2) Double check configuration in SCOT.
           a) "Node in use" is ticked
           b) "Supported address types" for Internet is set to *
           c) Default Domain is configured. SCOT --> Settings --> Default Domain
    3) To perform test route. SCOT --> Utilities --> Routing Test
           a) Recipient Address type = INT
           b) No error found in the results.
Please advise what could be the cause of the problem and what else I can check.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi,
    1. As of Release 6. 20, you must activate the SMTP server after you create or change it (Service/Virt.Host --> Activate, or right-click).
    2. SAPconnect administration (transaction SCOT)
You have to make the SAPconnect settings separately in each client from which e-mails are to be
sent or in which e-mails are to be received.
    a) Default domain
The domain of this SAP system client is defined here, for example, crm-prod.company.com. It is
        used for the following purposes:
          *     The SMTP Plug-In logs on to the mail server with the domain as ID.
The message ID of outgoing mails is created with this domain. If an SAP user who has not entered
an Internet mail address in their user master record sends an e-mail, a sender address is
enerated from the SAP user name and this domain.
    3. Check whether Background Job executed sucessfully or not.

  • User not able to receive an emaik from SAP to Outlook.

User is not able to receive an email from SAP to Outlook. In SCOT the configuration to receive email has been set up and all other users are able to receive the emails except one user. Even the email address of the user is correctly entered in the user master record. What is the authorization required to be setup for this user from security perspective ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
We have configured  the SMTP server in our system to send out mails, but we donot know the configurations for receiving mails. [ We are not using SAP exchange connector (is it needed?) ]
I have read the note 455140 and 54617.
But i am stuck on , What are the configurations to be done on the MS Exchange Server 2003 for redirecting the mails received in the inbox of a particular user to the SAP system.
The note says it has to be configured to redirect mail to <hostname>: <port>  But where exactly do we define the routing rules.
If anyone has a detailed document on what are the configurations involed in receiving mails, Please send it.

  • Incomming mails to ERMS not working

    Hi!
I'm trying to setup ERMS to handle inbound mails and route them to the correct handler.
I've used the following BP guides
    CRM Interaction Center (C78)
CRM Interaction Center Inquiry and Complaint Management (C35)
    CRM Complaints (C28)
    and also note 455140
The SICF service has been enabled and the setup in SCOT is done so the outbound mails are working.
But, I cannot get the mails into the system.
Is there a special job I have to configure, or something else, to get mail inbound mails into the system?
    Regards
    rollo

    Hi,
see whether the document FAQInbox in note 882653 helps you: maybe try to check whether inbound email without ERMS is working, then you can implement ERMS.
Some additional settings that you may check:
    - see in SWI1 if you can see the workflow associated to inbound emails: if you can see mails here but not in the Inbox in the Interaction Center, then check agent assignments
    - if you use as inbound CRM email address a company address, you must make sure that your company server (i.e. Exchange) forwards emails to your CRM server on the SMTP port
    Hope the note helps,
    regards,

  • Problem with Send and Receive Emal In SAP System

    Hi gurus!
    I have a following quote:
    Dear !
I have a problem with send and receive email in SAP system following :
I want to test send and receive email in local network at my company. I
    had two server
Server 1 : I setup Exchange Mail Server 2007 with domain controller is
    fes.com
    Server 2 : I setup SAP ERP ECC 6.0
On Server 1 : I created 2 account ( u1Afes.com and u2Afes.com ) and then I tested send and receive email between u1 and u2 in local network through Microsoft Outlook 2007 -> OK
    and then
On Server 2: I had configured send and receive email on SAP system
through tcode SBWP, SCOT and SOST as Note 455140 - "Configuration of
e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP"
    for example :
I logged in SAP system with user Basis01 (with email u1Afes.com ) -> then, using tcode SBWP -> new message -> send to u2Afes.com with Internet Mail type and then status message with green light -> sending ok
and then I have used Microsoft Outlook 2007, I logged with account u2 ->check email -> Ok. I saw message which send from u1
Finally, My problem is how can receive mail in SAP system without using Microsoft Outlook
    For example:
Login system SAP with Basis01 account (with  u1Afes.com ) -> tcode SBWP ->New Message -> send to u2Afes.com
    and then
    Login system SAP with Basis02 account (with u2Afes.com ) -> tcode ??? ->
To receive email from Basis01 (with u1Afes.com )
    Please help me now
    Thanks
I replace "@" with "A" because of banning email of this forum.
This quote is about sending email in local network. And we can't receive any email from the outside email address. Addition if I wanna send email to internal email in Internet (we've just tried with email address in local network) What should I config in SAP and Exchange ?
By the way, Is SAP Server IP added to Relay Agent for sending or receiving mail ?

    Hi,
This problem is a classic problem of mail routing via Exchange. Exchange like most mail servers use the domain part of the email address as a means to route mails. So I will make an assumption that your main company mail addrss is "User @ fes.com".
So when you send a mail to the "User @ fes.com mail" address the mail is delivered to your Outlook mail address as this is the default route for company.
    (Q) So how do you get your Exchange server to relay the mail into the sending SAP system?
    (A) The easiest way would be to setup and unique mail domain for your SAP system. I always recommend "user @ client.sid.company.com" which in your case would be "u1 @ 100.PRD.fes.com". You can then instruct Exchange to send any emails addressed to 100.PRD.fes.com domain to your SAP system. Also using this format of address you can configure multiple mail connections into multiple SAP systems.
    (A) Another answer would be to enter the "Full" email address (LOcal and Domain part of address) into the routing rule for Exchange e.g. "U1 @ fes.com" so that all emails addressed to this user will be delivered into SAP. However this method requires a lot of Admin as you will have to update Exchange with ALL email address that need to receive emails. Also if your corporate mail address is "U1 @ fes.com" then all mails will be forwarded to SAP.
I would definitely NOT recommend this method but the decision is up to you.
P.S. The IP address of the SAP system is entered into the mail header of the email. This is standard practice in SMTP relay. You can suppress this header in Exchange
    Hope this helps

  • How to: Send out e-mails through a 3rd party mail host?

    Hi,
We would like to send out e-mail campaign from our CRM system.
But we would not like to risc being blacklisted as spammer, so we would like to send out the e-mails using a 3rd party mail host provider.
Our sales department already use our CRM system for sending out their sales related e-mails.
They use our corporate exchange server for that.
    So the scenario is:
I have created a smtp node in trx scot, and liked it to our domain *company.com
This node points to our corporate mail host. All our normal users use this domain.
All our campaign e-mails from CRM should be send using another mail host as described before.
According to note 455140, I don't see that I can create a new smtp node in scot.
And link this one to our new e-mail domain *company-news.com and the external mail host.
How do I send these e-mails to a specific mail host when the sender is a specific domain e.g. company-news.com?
My Exchange server guys say that they can't redirect specific mails send from our CRM system.
They can only redirect all mails that are send from our CRM system, but then all the e-mails from our sales reps are also send through a 3rd party mail host.
Does anyone have battled with this before, and how did you solve it?
    best regards
    Michael Wolff Knudsen

We bought a new Exchange server, version 2007 just for CRM. This Exchange version can tunnel the e-mail to our 3rd party vendor, and they can send out the e-mails so neither one of us gets spammed.

  • Error while sending sales order form by fax

    hi,
Sending Sales order by fax is not working. While adding output type for Sales order choosing device as 'FAX' is throwing an error saying that 'Error while sending fax with SO_OBJECT_SEND, return code 9'.  Anything needs to be configured or we have to code anything in SAPScript program. Please advise.

    Hi Harry,
You don't need to write any particular code for sending FAX in SAPscript. But you may need to check some configurations regarding it.
We configure SCOT to send Fax and mails to outside SAP. Check SAP Note 455140 for the configuration of SCOT tcode.
    Please refer this link [Sending FAX |Sending FAX from SAP;
    It might be helpful.

  • Error while sending email to distribution list

    Hello All,
I am not able to send the email to Shared & Private distribution list.
It is giving an error "Function <Send> not possible"
I can send the email to users by specyfying their email id & recepient type as Internet address while sending mail from the Business Workplace. But we want to send it to users in shared/private distribution list.
SCOT, SMTP are properly configured as per SAP Note 455140.
Interestingly Routing Test in the SAPConnect shows no errors. Also the internal  traces are enabled, but it shows nothing for the outbound traces.
Response starting with "220", in the telnet results (for both SAP server & Exchange server) confirms that the SCOT configuration is correct for Mail Host & Mail Port.
We are on ECC6 on Oracle 10g & Windows.
I have searched this forum but couldnot find relevant answer.
If anybody has faced such problem, let me know how to resolve this.
    Regards,
    Vivdha

    Hi,
Check in transaction SCOT. If your mail is in error status in SCOT, you can assure that there is no problem with your code. If your message has not reached till SCOT, then the problem will be with the code.
If the mail is there in scot with error status tell the BASIS to configure it. I feel this could be the problem.
