Note length input to short with octapad??

I am trying to trigger/record percussion parts into logic 9.1.3 via a spd-30 octapad. When I open the piano roll after the take the note lengths are so short it can't trigger the soft synth on playback. (I have been trying to trigger stormdrum 2 through the play 2 engine and virtual drumline through kontakt 4). I have increased the gate time on the octapad to 1 second for input, but no change on logic. Does anyone know how to change the input note length on logic as I am recording? Is there an input filter for this? (I can't find it.) Any help is appreciated. thanks.

it must be something in the octapad because I can't even get the octapad to trigger the soft synth when I am not recording. I tried the low latency setting and no change. I added the roland driver for the mac and no change. I did try it with ultrabeat and it worked so mabye something in the plug in setup sending notes through. I can change the length after the fact but that is very efficent when I am trying to play against another track...;0

Netstat not reporting input errors with packets that have bad checksums ?

Is netstat not reporting any checksum errors ? I have a number of Macs reporting checksum errors when sniffing the local net. I would think that these should be reported by netstat as input errors, or collisions right ?
But it doesn't currently. See below for sample, its occurring across protocols, tcp, and udp. Usually this error is a bad ethernet port or cabling, and sometimes a sw issue. Working on eliminating the switches, router, and dsl modem by doing more testing.
But is netstat broke ? I havent seen any errors from netstat since @ 3yrs ago.

Im am using two commands to view the data;
netstat -I en0 2;
(no errors in or out)
and tcpdump with the verbose -v argument
( reports the cksum ( these are CRC's right, not IP header checksum ? )
At the very bottom is the netstat -s output, otherwise a snippet of tcpdump ; replaced the IP's with xxxx's to protect the innocent

Create Sales Order with ES and LORD throws "not an input field"

Im am getting the error:: "Field AUART is not an input field"
I am trying to use the enterprise service: PurchaseOrderRequest_In for creating a Sales Order in ERP. I have done the settings under:
- (IMG: Sales and Distribution -> Electronic Data Interchange -> EDI Messages -> Configure EDI Partners -> Convert External To Internal Partner Numbers )
- (IMG: Sales and Distribution -> Electronic Data Interchange -> EDI Messages -> Configure EDI Partners -> Assign Customer/Vendor To Sales Organization Data )
- Customizing transaction WUFWUF -> Transformations , application CL_PUR_PURCHASEORDER_RQ
- SD_01 business function is activated
Now when I send in a message I can monitor the errors in /SAPPO/PPO2 I get a list of errors telling me:
"Field AUART is not an input field" and the same error for 5 other fields. If I debug the method I can see that the table LORD_MAPPING is read. It also looks like the service actually calls program SAPMV45A with screen 4440. This screen does not contain the fields with error. The errors are caught in
class: CL_LORD_OBJECT
Method: DO_IMPORT_MAPPING
Line: 58-72
, due to <field_inpmod> eq '0'. This is the input mode for the screen used.
Any pointers to what I have missed would be greatly appreciated.

check function group XVED. Within this function group there are some includes that allows you to change the behavior of SAP while creating the sales order after EDI inbound.
There are the two includes ZXVEDU03 (to add additional data from the IDOC to the sales order) and ZXVEDU04 (to modify the batch input for creating the sales order). Maybe you can find your fields in here and clear them, so that SAP doesnt try to change the order-type field in EDI processing.
In case you want to allow certain fields to be editable, check userexit MV45AFZZ form "userexit_field_modification". There you can set fields editable or not.
Example:
CASE screen-name.
    WHEN 'VBAP-MVGR3'.

JPEG market segment length is too short

In copying a series of folders containing JPEGs, PSDs and RAW files (Canon .CR2 and Hasselblad .3F) to a new external drive (Mac OSX), there was a hiccup and a large number of the copied image files contain red dots next to them in the finder window. The files are named correctly and contain the full data size of the originals, but when attempting to open a JPEG I get the following error message:
Could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).
When attempting to open a .PSD file the message is:
Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document.
When attempting to open the RAW file in Bridge, the message is:
Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file.
In the Get Info window, all three file types are correctly identified as Adobe Photoshop files, Adobe Photoshop JPEG files and Camera RAW files, and each is the correct size it should be.
This happened to some, but not all of the files on the drive, and it appears to have happened randomly. I have run Data Rescue on the drive, but the rescued file still have the red dots and do not open. I've also tried other file recovery programs, as well as Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery and Jpeg Repair utilities, all to no avail.
I've tried renaming the files, and opening them from other programs such as preview, iPhoto and Lightroom. Still no luck.
I'm hoping someone has another angle for me. The data is there; it's obvious something happened that is preventing the files from opening, but it seems there should be some fix for this.

Your opening statement said you were copying, not moving the files.
If you were Moving the files, then the routine that was doing the moving erases behind unless they are coming from a CDROM or a write protected device..
Those files are essentially corrupted or incompatible with CC.
Did those files open okay where ever they lived before they were moved?
What was the "hiccup" that you mentioned? A Power Hiccup ? Then these files are toast if indeed there were in the middle of a Move..
Were you using Finder to do this task?

A jpeg marker segment length is too short

While imaging with my Canon T1i last night with my astro club I took probably 75 or 80 pics. Halfway through the session, my battery low indicator came on, so I changed the battery but may not have turned off the camera....I can't remember.....as I continued to shoot and review the images, everything looked and worked fine. When I returned home and got up this a.m. to review the pics, the last half could not be be opened. I usually insert my SD card in my laptop to review first before I transfer them over. I kept getting this error on the last half of the images I took :" a jpeg marker segment length is too short. The file may be truncated or incomplete." Anybody seen this or have any experience with this? Is there any way to recover and otherwise save these images? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. By not turning the camera off while changing batteries, could that be the reason for the error message? Thanks, Gary

It could be any one of a number of things such as the files being corrupted as the camera was writing them to the card, or a faulty card, a faulty USB connection or cable, etc.
Use only high quality cards ans cables, preferably use a card reader, be careful how you handle the camera, how you change batteries, etc. Common sense practices.

Can it be that you have bank data in your vendors for banks that are not yet created.
if you create vendors manually then SAP is creating the bank master record automatically in background if not present when you entered bank data in the vendor master.
But in IDOC processing, SAP just focus on the master data transferred with the IDOC, it creates vendor masters, but it does not create central address data nor bank data.
you have to create the banks as a preceeding step to vendor creation.

I have run my TC on a 12V SLA battery.. which would neatly meet that part of the functionality you want. But it is heavy and not really the rugged sort of device I think you want.
But I would look at other media players and other ways of storing movies than iTunes.. if you want to carry the whole lot around with you .. A bunch of SD cards even you could plug into the ipad??
External storage for iPad?
A small cheap PC/Mac laptop with a 1TB hard disk in it.. and 11" or 13" screen.. can often be a much better solution than lugging around multiple items so you can fit Apple devices into your life.

I went into Edit (update) to change the "accent" color. Submitted and got the usual thank you, successful message. But It has NOT changed. It remains the same overly bright electric purple bar at top.
In my EDIT session I changed that color to a dark blue/violet.
The change does NOT show, either in use of the persona skin (I have chosen it for my own browser) -OR in the SAMPLE ...or whatever that is called that I can pull up on the gallery page -OR upon viewing my supposed "change".
I did it RIGHT by the way. That is not the problem. I know (thoroughly) how to input html color codes. I merely selected the color, then the color # populated the 'accent color' box and I saw correct hue showing and finished by submitting. This was all hours ago. Your message (below) came in since.

It would be VERY good for your "create your own persona" page to have some basic info. I thought (GUESSED actually, after futily looking for anything explaining or defining it) that this referred to an offset accent to the TEXT font -which would allow clear reading in any background graphics.

Trying to open a sharepoint library in Windows Explorer via IE 8 results in the error "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer"

I am attempting to connect to a Microsoft Sharepoint library, via the "Actions -> Open in Windows Explorer" option from the Sharepoint page. When I do so, I get the error message "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer". In short, I am trying to get the "drag and drop" functionality of a Sharepoint library.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE8. The target Sharepoint environment is a MOSS 2007 EE. My Windows "WebClient" service is running, and I have no problem connecting to this exact library via a Windows XP computer running IE8.

Verify that the Webclient is started automatically from the Services.msc
Verify that your Portal is in the Intranet local security zone (You can reach it from Your Internet Explorer Browser Security Tag) if not add it to the list
restart the WebClient service if it's work good
If not you have to create a network share to your portal URL directly not your documents library.
Open Windows Explorer or My Computer from the Windows Start Menu.
From the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive…. A new Map Network Drive window opens.
In the Map Network Drive window, choose an available drive letter from the dropdown list located next to the "Drive:" option. Any drives already mapped will have a shared folder name displayed inside the dropdown list, next to the drive letter.
Type the name of the folder to map wich is in this case your SharePoint Portal URL (Don't include the documents libraries)
Click the "Reconnect at login" checkbox if this network drive should be mapped permanently. Otherwise, this drive will un-map when the user logs out of this computer.
If the remote computer that contains the shared folder requires a different username and password to log in, click the "different user name" hyperlink to enter this information.
Click Finish.

Fixed note length in piano roll

Hello ,is there any way to draw notes with a fixed length in the piano roll rather than using the last edited note's length?
In other words,i want the default note length not to automatically change every time i draw/edit a new note (with a different length).
Im quite sure this cannot be done, but i thought i should ask to confirm...
I also feel i want to say my opinion on that,you dont have to read it or answer back to it:
I find this way of editing very confusing and counter creative ,it sure adds extra thinking proccess.While you are drawing notes it
constantly keeps your mind away from your melody line since in every step, you have to stop some milliseconds and think
"which side should i drag to resize now given the new facts left or right?"....
And extra (unnecessary) thinking always acts against creativity.
I think it seems very logical the way i said that and that objectively, irrelevant to any personal preferences, this way of editing
,even if i doesnt annoy everyone ,it is indeed counter creative.
Especcially if one really does a lot of editing rather than recording.
I wish there was an option for that in the preferences, maybe something very simple like a checkbox "Automaticaly define default note" to uncheck.
Im sure it would be only a few hours of programming for the developers to do something like that, but it would be such a saver for people
who edit a lot or for people coming from other DAWS, or for anyone that simply cant get used to it because they feel it anti-intuitive / unatural...

You can use the transform tool but it's "after the fact". Simply rubberband a group of notes to be changed and use the Transform tool under the piano roll's "function" menu. Choose "Fixed Note Length" then set the parameter box to the value you need.
There's also this workaround: Find a note of the correct length already in the sequence or create temporary notes of the correct length. I'm assuming by "draw" you mean using the pencil tool. Move the pencil over the *center of note with the length you need, left mouse click and hold for a second, until the pencil turns into a hand, you will now have the length set for drawing new notes. The pencil tool is still selected so you don't have any additional selections to make.
Yes, it's a hassle, but once you get used to it you will find it's faster than what you've been doing.
*slight correction: when moving the pencil tool over the *center of a note, it will change into the pointer arrow, left click and hold and it will change into the hand, move the pointer away and it goes back to the pencil.

If the HDMI input to the Samsung is not compatible, does it have a VGA or composite input? I have both the HDMI and VGA adapters for the iPad, which work with the small Vizio HDTV I tried. I understand a composite video adapter is also available.

Field BSET-FWSTE (1) is not an input field

We currently have SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 and have recently applied support packs (we are on SAP_APPL - SAPKH50017). Something changed with the inbound function module: IDOC_INPUT_INVOIC_FI
When we have an incoming invoice via an IDoc using function module IDOC_INPUT_INVOIC_FI, we get the error message: 00347 Field BSET-FWSTE (1) is not an input field. Our IDoc does NOT have a tax amount, it has segment #E1EDP04 with values: MWSKZ = E and TXJCD = WI0000000.
If we feed in this Idoc via WE19 in foreground, we can see that this error is only a warning, and can press enter and the IDoc creates the invoice without a problem.
What do we need to change to get this IDoc to create an invoice in the background?

can you run in E mode (stops in case of Error) and se what happens? What is the screen name and number where this problem occurs? If this is in a table control think that instead of BSET-FWSTE(1) it should be BSET-FWSTE(<b>0</b>1)
