I received an iTunes update today and updates files. Tonight, I couldn't acces my iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting same error message: iTunes exe unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.  I've done it several times and still get the error.  I'm fearful I have lost all my music.  What can I do?

My iTunes will not start.  The box on the error message APSDaemon.exe,  And message says "This application failed to start because MSVC80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling may fix."  I did the reinstall and I get the same error.  The error first happened after I approved the an iTurns update.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.

I've just (finally) managed to fix this problem today. I checked the Apple Support forums, and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
I rang the Apple Support line, and the very helpful man (thanks Alan!) talked me through it stage by stage. If you go to the following page on the internet: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376   it takes you through the process. WARNING - it takes a little time!
Basically, the first thing you have to do is go to your Program Files and double click on your iTunes folder. There'll be a number of files with the suffix .dll - you need to move all the .dll files from that folder to your desktop - you can simply click and drag them on the desktop..
Next, uninstall iTunes - go to Control Panel / Add/Rempve Programs and when the list comes up remove iTunes. This will take a few minutes... Then reboot your computer.
Next, go back to Control Panel / Add Remove and Remove - IN THIS ORDER -
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot again!
Next, check in your Program Files that the iTunes folder is completely gone - if it has, great: if it hasn't, right-click on the folder and press Shift and Delete - it will say "Are you sure you want to completely remove the folder "iTunes"? Click on "Yes".
    Reboot!
Then go to the iTunes download page and voila! It should download iTunes without any problems... well it did for me.... Good luck!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"

When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"
I have redownloaded iTunes and still get the same message. It has to do with my Windows Vista in some way? I cannot sync my iPad2, iOS 7.0.4 with my PC.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to lose the thousand and one things I've bought.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

  • Followed cnet direct. to move itunes from c drive to ext. drive, worked, deleted off c, still worked, now says AVFoundationCF.dll not found-reinstall, don't want to lose data

I recently followed cnet directions to move itunes from c drive on pc running xp pro, to external drive, for space reasons.  Process worked.  I tunes ran from e drive, verified data on e drive, deleted all apple applications on c drive so I could remove itunes and recover space.  Verified itunes still worked off of new short cut and and that target was e drive.  Now itunes won't open and get message "AVFoundationCF.dll not found - reinstall", or "not installed correctly Error 7 (windows error 126) - reinstall."  Tried download, install from apple.com for itunes on c drive, but message "library can't be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes."  How do I fix this without losing all of our "material" saved on the itunes program?

Thank you for the reply, but so far no go.  I tried through control panel and add remove programs with repair option as suggested but got error..."C:\programs......AppleAplicationSupport.msi cannot be found."  This was after I have done new download and install of itunes to the c drive.  I have not taken any steps to try use that down load or reload any material on it.  I changed path to external drive an folder, E:\ itunes and got the "error not valid installation package."  Still looking for answers...

    TomCT60,
Is your MacBook using Mac OS X 10.6.8 as indicated in your post? If so you will not be able to fully integrate with iCloud.
iCloud and Snow Leopard, by Roger Wilmut describes what iCloud options are available for Snow Leopard.
If you are using Lion, go to iCal>Preferences...>Accounts, and delete/re-add your iCloud CalDAV server.

  • PC Suite fails to start - 'ConnAPI.DLL was not fou...

I'm running Windows Vista and PC Suite version 7.0.8.2 fails to open up due to the following message: 'This application has failed to start because ConAPI.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.'. I have re-installed several times and the same error message occurs. This started happening after I installed some other software but I'm not sure which, as I am building my new laptop and am installing a lot of software. It might have been Quicken 2008 but I'm not sure. A Google search for this issue reveals that possibly Adobe software might be the culprit. I do have Adobe Photoshop Elements and I did move the NokiaManager.mox file out of that product as recommended by others, but this didn't fix the problem. I also uninstalled 'PC Connectivity Solution' in order to try to fix the issue, since that software contained ConnAPI.dll (which I presume is also from Nokia and I'm not sure what installed that.) After uninstalling PC Connectivity Solution and reinstalling Nokia PC Suite, I got the same error. This time, I believe ConnAPI.dll is not on my system and clearly Nokia PC Suite did not install it even though it requires it!
I could switch to some other connectivity software but I have Lotus Organizer and want to sync. with that and I don't believe anything else syncs with Lotus Organizer these days.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what is the solution?
    Thanks in advance.

Here is the solution. BUT It does not work for windows 7 I did not find solution form Nokia!!!! ???? Basszák meg! Connapi.dll is a connectivity application programming interface (API) developed and used by Nokia for their PC connectivity solutions. The most common usage of connapi.dll is through the Nokia PC Suite software. Although this dll file is not a critical system component, if you are using phone-computer connectivity on a regular basis, you should avoid messing with connapi.dll. You can find the file online if you delete or damage it by accident, but the possibility of a corrupt or infected download is likely as you are never too sure of the quality of a dll file download. Most non-system dll file names are used by virus authors to create trojans and worms, Errors occurring in relation to the connapi.dll file are usually because of disabling, missing or damaging the particular file. The most common errors and solutions are discussed below. 1) “ConnAPI.dll not found. Try reinstalling the application” Uninstall all Nokia software, especially “PC Connectivity Solution” - the problem is caused because of it. Then, reinstall Nokia PC Suite and everything will be all right. 2) “ConnAPI.dll is not a valid windows image” Connapi.dll is not a standard Windows file, so this error should actually be ignored. If the message persists, simply delete the file, uninstall all Nokia software, and reinstall a fresh, updated version. 3) “Connapi.dll is missing and the program cannot run” The reason for this error is that you have uninstalled Nokia software from your computer, but the system still recognizes it as existing. Go to - Start > Run >type msconfig > Startup Tab – and remove any references to Nokia software. Reboot the system. For repairing the connapi.dll file, always visit the Nokia web site, obtain the latest PC Suite version, and do a fresh installation in your computer. It is best and safest way to keep your registry and system problem free.

With that one, first try uninstalling and reinstalling your MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, robin. Does that make the error go away?

  • HT4145 Airport failed to start-dnssd.dll was not found-what to do?

app may fix this problem-what do I do?

I suggest that you start by reviewing the following About.com article. It will help you troubleshoot the missing Dnssnd.dll file.
If the issue is related to an AirPort Extreme base station, the cause may be a missing or incomplete installation of Bonjour for Windows. In this case I would recommend downloading and installing the latest version directly from Apple here.

  • Soundbooth CS3 failed to start -preminfo.dll was not found

Soundbooth CS3 starts with error - This application has failed to start becase preminfo.dll was not found.
    Vista x64 SP1
    Adobe CS3 production premium ultra
Reinstall Soundbooth CS3 das not help. Premiere Pro CS3 works fine.
    Tank You.

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS3\MediaCore
Production Premium apps (PPro, SB, AE, Encore) will try to load plugins placed in the above folder. This is good and bad. It's good because you place them in one location and they are shared. It's bad because if the plugin was written specifically for peremiere, it may not work correctly in Soundbooth.
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS3\Plug-ins\..
Plugins placed in the premiere folder only get loaded in to premiere.
Usually plugin manufacturer decides where they should go and you shouldn't have to worry about it. I recommend not moving them around unless there is a problem with them.

  • Error on boot: "STOP c0000135 unable to locate component csrsrv.dll not found reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

I am running Windows Server 2003 R2 (I know it's old, I'm in the process of upgrading it now to 2012) on an old HP ProLiant server. It's worked for ages, but yesterday morning it booted up with the blue screen of death, saying:
STOP c0000135 unable to locate component csrsrv.dll not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.
I have tried coping the file from C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\csrsrv.dll to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ using a WS2003R2 recovery disk, but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what to do now...
I do have backups, but I'd prefer just to get this server back up and running so that I can continue to migration so that I can decommission it permanently and put it out to pasture...
Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

If copying the DLL does not help then I would recommend doing a system state restore from a backup.
