Note to all upgrading to ML

I just did the DL and install Of ML on my 15" Late 2011 MBP and first I saved a complete copy of the downloaded files. I then searched for the InstallESD.DMG file so I can in the future make my own ML Install USB thumb drive.
I created a separate partition on my internal drive just so I could install ML clean. So when I finally started the install I pointed it to that partition I had created.
Everything has gone well, ML is installed and I use the transfer system that comes up right in the beginning of the setup for the new computer to copy over all my files, setting, programs and whatever from my Lion partition.
What I found was the Original Mountain Lion downloaded files had NOT been deleted. They were all still there, the "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app" with all its contents, including the InstallESD.DMG file.
So I don't know if this new, the installer NOT deleting the download install file/s like was done with Lion, or whether it was becaause I installed ML on another drive/partition.
So it would seem that if you install on another partition the downloaded install files remain.

Both the Lion and the Mountain Lion installers have a simple rule for automatic deletion:
If the installer application is located in the Applications folder on the volume on which the OS is being installed (which it will be in the most common cases), it will be deleted when the installation is complete.
The reason your installer wasn't deleted is that you told it to install Mountain Lion on a different volume (partition).
If you want to keep the installer but intend to install the OS on your current startup volume: quit the installer when it launches automatically after download, locate the "Install OS X Mountain Lion" application in your Applications folder, and copy it to another volume, or move it somewhere outside the Applications folder. (You can move it by holding down the Command key and dragging the icon - a simple drag and drop will create an alias. You will need to authenticate with your admin account name and password.)

The quiz review button is inconsistent - sometimes it shows the ticks and crosses other times it doesn't - did you find a solution? I'd dearly like to be able to tidy up the ticks!

If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? For instructions on starting in Safe Mode, see [[Safe Mode]]. Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. Just upgraded to OS X Lion. Now Safari behaves erratically. Some sights load at lightning speeds, other load painfully slow or not at all. Any ideas here?

I would recommend running Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) and Repairing Disk Permissions. Please run this at least 2x. It that doesn't help then post back, there are many other things to try.

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Ios 6 is not available for all iphones. Original Iphone and iphone 3 are not supported.

This is common for most any device/computer. Not all iphone/computer/device models can handle all of the new features. Like any device, hardware is limited and cannot always support all new features and software.

Firefox is not displaying all the images on any of the websites that I access. I upgraded to 4.0 and it worked correctly for about a day and then reverted back to the problem.

I have the same issue: FireFox is not showing all images on the page.
Noticed this in FireFox 5.0. Now I installed FireFox 5.0.1 and still have the same issue.
The missing images do not even appear in Tools > Page Info > Media.
The images are usually accessed using DIV tag with a CSS class which contains background-image style. Often, when page opens, the DIV is initially hidden, and JavaScript displays it. Sometimes, jQuery.html() adds such DIV tags, and images rarely appear. Sometimes they do, but more often they do not.
If I install FireBug and use Inspect Element to find such a DIV, it is there, it contains the CSS class, the definition of the CSS class contains background-image style. If I click the icon to disable this style, and then click it again to enable it, the image immediately shows up.
Seems to be caused by some optimization which does not detect images like these.

Restore the device from the backup created prior to the update to put everything back the way it was prior to the update. This will not downgrade the iOS.

Can not view all the thumbnails in version 9 adobe standard

I recently installed adobe standard 9 running parallel with adobe standard 5.
My end user is claiming of the view setting for patient data. She can not scroll all the way to the bottom
as she could in adobe 5. She can see all the thumbnails minus the last row. I have changed the prefereces to show the same
as adobe 5. However I can not get the correct settting to make it right for her.
Any adivse or trouble shoot steps would be appreciated. Adobe said to update the product, I have done that last night.

How do I do that?

Can not See All of my Music Library on the play list

I accidently moved my music library (My documents/My music/my itunes...)
When I moved it back, iTunes does not see all the song (over 2000). It only see the purchased music. I can use the Add to Library function (In the File menu) and add each song, song by song and I have added a few dozen songs back to the play list. So all the music is there, in the directory, Just can not get iTunes to recogize them.
ANY suggestions to adding the whole library back at once.

I just had the same thing happen to me, but mine occurred simply by upgrading to the latest version of iTunes... in the process it "lost" about half of my music.
I simply unchecked "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" under prefrences/advanced tab.. hit "OK", then went back in and re-checked it, hit OK and iTunes began "organizing" my library and miraculously iTunes found all of the missing music.
There are some decent articles about moving your iTunes library on the support site. They don't always work as advertised, but you're pretty much stuck with My Documents/My Music/iTunes on Windows.
You may be able to reverse things by following those instructions as well.

I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. Whenever I try to use it, it always says "All Devices Offline." This is regardless of whether I am in a good Wi-Fi zone or not. I like to use Find My iPhone to remotely track my battery charging status whenever my phone is charging in a different room. That's been really handy, which is why I really need to get this fixed. No matter what computer I use, the problem is always the same.
My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device, especially considering the bad things I've heard about iOS 8.

You don't need to update to iOS 8 to use Find My iPhone. If you haven't already tried, go to Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone and turn it off, then reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release). After it restarts, turn Find My iPhone back on and see if it works properly now.

File- Export not working after upgrade from 11i to R12

File -> Export not working after upgrade from 11i to R12.1.3 in few systems. Can you please let me know what could be the issue.
If export record count more than 200 it is working fine in all the systems and if change the profile option "Export MIME type” value to ‘text/tab-separated-values’ from application/excel also it is wokring.

Finder not operating after upgrade from 10.2.8 to 10.3.4

I tried to upgrade from 10.2.8 to 10.3.4. Everything worked properly except for the fact that the finder menu bar at the top of the screen kept flashing. I upgraded again to 10.3.9 and the finder completely stopped functioning. I could still access all the programs from my dock but could not access the hard drive directly or see files saved on the desktop.
To solve this problem I reinstalled 10.2 but am now having trouble with the system update for 10.2.8 (which I've noticed has been a problem for others).
Any suggestions?

USING OS X INSTALL CDS/DVDS ON MULTIPLE MACS
The question of using system/software install CDs/DVDs on more than one machine is frequently asked.
So, FYI:
System software installation CDs/DVDs, that come with a particular Mac model, are hardware specific to that model, and not intended to be used on other Mac models. For instance, the CDs/DVDs that are shipped with an iMac are not to be used on an iBook or eMac.
And the "Tiger" DVDs that are shipped with any new Mac, also are not to be used on other Mac models.
If such an installation were possible, or somehow accomplished successfully, that action would constitute a violation of your license agreement, which limits installation to a single computer.
The "Single User Software License Agreement" can be found here Software License Agreement.
Similarly, any "Upgrade" CDs/DVDs for a particular Mac OS will ONLY work for that Mac & system. For example, if a new Mac that shipped with Jaguar/Panther, was purchased shortly before the release of Panther/Tiger, the user may have purchased "Upgrade" CDs/DVDs, for a lesser price than the full install set. These CDs/DVDs do not contain all of the necessary components for an independent installation of Panther or Tiger.
The license agreement applies to single user retail versions of system software. The "Panther" or "Tiger" boxed set, for example.
If you wish to upgrade to Panther or Tiger, you have to purchase a Full Retail Version, of either OS.
