Notebook Adobe CS5 Master Collection

Hi guys, I am currently in process of getting a new notebook.
I will be running a Adobe CS5 Master Collection and few other programs.
Can you guys let me know what are best specs that this notebook must have?
I know Mac is best option but my company is not willing to get one, they are willing to settle for HP / Dell / etc…
I will need this notebook to handle multiple applications at a time (dreamweaver, illustrator, photoshop, etc etc…).
What do you guys advise?
Thank You
Bradley

The more they spend the faster you will be able to work.  A good processor like an i7, Windows 7 64 bit and at least 4 GB RAM will be a good start, 6 or 8 GB would be good.

I was curious about your experience with CS5 Master Collection, since I purchased the CS4 Master Collection more than a year ago.
I had previously bought the CS3 Master Collection and upgraded.  The original CS3 collection was reasonable to work with because there was a  Disc for each different program.  If you needed to reload a program you could figure it out.  When I upgraded to CS4 which was a decent price, I figured what I would get would be comprehensible in the sense that CS3 was.  What I received was (I believe 5 discs...I don't have them with me) labeled Content
and Applications.  It wasn't long, because of the general 64-bit confusion, that one of the programs (Acrobat Pro) became corrupted.  I wasn't sure which disc or discs to load.  There are absolutely no instructions or anywhere you can go to find them.  Adobe provides nothing for Master Collection
owners, or rather up-graders...try sending an email...good luck.  Try calling...to find out how to load a program?  By the way when I try to load one of the Content discs, I get a message that says my laptop, with all the bells and whistles, and which originally accepted the Master Collection, cannot load the software, whatever that means.  I wrote several emails to Adobe asking for help, I'll even pay for it...no answer.  I also subscribe to the Professional Photographers podcast and Adobe is frequently mentioned as having terrible customer service and having over-priced software.  I'm seriously thinking of alternatives, but everyone uses Photoshop, which you're probably better off buying by itself.  Or, you could wait for another frustrated customer to post his/her complaint to the Adobe Forums.  I don't think the Adobe administrators will let this be posted, but please, be forewarned about the terrible customer service.

  • Where can i download adobe cs5 master collection?

Hi i was looking for old adobe cs5 master collection download not adobe creative suite cs5.5 i have searched every where but still cannot find it.please help me i need it.Warmest regards

well, seeing as there was no answer here, i called adobe today, appartently adobe decided with the release of 5.5, there are no more trial downloads for cs5.0, i really hate when they do things like this , i can't keep up with everyone else and always get to the products late to try, i'm frustrated and VERY upset by this style of adobe doing these things.  I love to photoshop and learn, but they make it impossible, especially when 5.5 as they told me, was released a month ago.
    It's just so wrong!!
so, no more downloads for that folks.!!  only cs5.5, and i'm just not able to afford that now *cries*

  • Adobe CS5 Master Collection System Requirements - A Mistake?

    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection
I am a student who purchased Adobe CS5 Master Collection a few weeks back.
Before purchasing the product I looked at the system requirements at the link above.
I thought, "Cool! That's not too hectic, I have enough cash to build a computer with those system specs."
So I went and bought Adobe CS5 Master Collection, all amped up and ready to get a computer for it, excited to start learning the program.
Looking at different options around the specs, in Adobe's link above, I started asking questions, and soon I was advised by many users that those specs WOULDN'T do it for Adobe CS5 Master Collection.
Looking at my budget, comparing it to the suggested builds in this Forum, I am now depressed, because the cheapest Budget Build is way out of range of my budget.
I feel let down, because I purchased a program with the trust that Adobe provided those system requirements SO THAT the program can run nicely on those specs.
    So my question:
WHY are the system requirements, at the link above, 2GB of RAM (4 or more reccommended) and Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Phenom II, if there are so many warnings on this and other forums that those specs will not be enough? (The Budget Build in this Forum suggests a quad core and 8GB of RAM)
Does this mean that had I bought a computer going on the specs provided in Adobe's link above, say a Core 2 Duo and 4GB of RAM, that I then would NOT have been able to get started nicely, learning and working with Adobe CS5 Master Collection?

Thanks for the new article "System requirements for CS5" at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/810750?tstart=0 !
I really appreciate it very much. I found it very informative and it helped me understand the topic so much better.
I hope that it will be included in the overview tab for other newbies like me.
Other articles in this Forum that I found very helpful:
"Now that CS5 has arrived, what does it mean for your system setup?" at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/633773 .
This article helped me understand how things have changed since CS5's release and what it means for my system setup.
"A PC buying guide for NLE" at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/433549 .
EXCELLENT article with helpful links. Thanks.
JerryK wrote:They do not all seem consistent with each other, and so can be confusing for users looking to put together a new pc.
Now that I have read several articles and discussions in this Forum, my understanding is that the reason why they may "not all seem consistent with each other" is because of the fact that the nature of each one's editing projects vary from one another which have a major impact on the hardware required to run projects effectively. So what works for one does not work for another.
Yes, at this stage I do indeed find it VERY confusing as a newbie looking to put together a new PC, within my budget.
However, I understand now that it would be hard for anyone to come up with a list of systems that will guarantee specific performance within specific budgets, because there are too many variables at play.
The reality is that there are newbies who are just starting out for the first time, having no clue what all Adobe is about and what they can and are going to do with the program.
I think that newbies like me who have to settle for a very low budget PC at first, just to get started, have to content with the AWARENESS that their system will allow only so much performance and nothing more.
It would be nice if there were benchmark results of low budget PC's for beginners working with DV and HD, to help them at least not buy utterly useless systems, but systems that, though not super fast, will perform tasks specified in such a benchmark, with an added note that while using such a low budget PC (for the purpose of at least getting started with some projects as newbies/students), they could read about upgrades and start saving their coins for upgrades.
Thank you for your answer in post 8:
    Harm Millaard wrote:
With a sufficiently capable CPU, no problem, provided you have the right disk I/O system and memory as well, yes.
Based on the Adobe minimum requirements, no way. Even a single application like PR with AVCHD codec material will effectively come to a halt. Multi-tasking DW and PS is doable on such a system.
    My newbie question:
With reference to post 7 and 8 above, if you can suggest a CPU, memory and disk I/O system for my present specific need, as described in 7 above, i.e. multi-tasking Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash, please do. I will view your suggestion(s) in this case as guide lines.

i just wanted to know if i can download the Mac version and use that cereal number to activate it?
    No.
Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. There is a platform swap process (from Mac to PC etc) but only for CS6.
As a CS5 owner, your choices are to either pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

  • I have Adobe CS5 Master Collection. Will this machine run it alright?

So I am in the process of shopping for a new computer to run some adobe software on. I have the Cs5 Master Collection, but generally I will only be using certain programs, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, occasionally Flash and... Soundbooth too I guess because that’s what comes with the version I have.
The link below contains the computer I "think" I am in love with right now for my purposes, but I can t be sure. I am not 100% certain. I would really appreciate it if someone could give a run through of the specs listed on the page. I will link adobes minimum requirements too. Even though I’m assuming some of the more tech minded people here have most of them memorized. Either way any and all help is appreciated.

  • Adobe CS5 Master Collection, Serial number check?

I bought CS5 master collection for windows off ebay, he has the trail boxed version and the email with serial number full version serial from adobe. I got it cheap I wouldn't have bought it if ebay didn't have buyer protection (if it's fake I can get my money including shipping back). when I get it how to I verfiy the serial is a legitamate one, that can be upgraded and is issued by adobe, instead of a generated one?
    Thanks

You can call Adobe customer service, provide them the serial number, and they will be able to tell you
    if it is legit

  • Adobe CS5 Master Collection

I'm planning to buy the Master collection CS5.  I am just wondering if this laptop is good enough and compatible with CS5 specailly, premier pro and after effects. I perefer to use 64bit version and I guess windows 7 home premium is 64bit.
AMD Phenom II quad-core N930  processor and 6 GB system memory
    500 GB hard drive
    Built-in Wi-Fi
    Pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium
HDMI, USB 2.0 and media card connectivity options

    Any help would be appriciated.

I read your post and was thinking no waaaaaay for $1000.
Then I looked at the Canadian site and found this for only $1200 -- it looks pretty new and I'd say MASSIVE bang for the buck for a CS5 laptop:
    Asus G73SW-HAR6
    CPU = Intel Sandy Bridge i7-2630QM (quad-core, 2GHz/2.9GHz turbo mode, 8-threads w/ hyperthreading, 32nm - cool & fast)
    Win7 Home premium 64-bit
    8GB RAM
    17.3" HD display
    750GB hard drive
    Video = GTX 460M 1MB
I'm not sure if Home premium 64-bit is OK or not; I'm sure someone will jump in and comment if it is not.
Nobody around this forum has ever mentioned Asus, but I suspect that there may be lots of talk about their laptops now.
You will really need to add an external drive too; not sure if the Asus has an eSATA port - if it does GREAT, find a eSATA drive. If not, go with a USB 3.0 drive and hope it stays connected.

  • Need help with Adobe CS5 Master Collection

Trying to install adobe CS5 but everytime I do a load error came up.  So I was reading and it told me to download adobe support advisor so I did and this message came up "cpsid 82829s5 Missing installation file bootstrap error has occurred.  I have even tried using the clean and still no good.  Any other Ideas ??
    Thanks

    Excellent, and great news!
I would take one more step now: make a Copy of your physical installation DVD's, to high-quality blank media, such as Verbatim, Falcon Pro, or Taiyo-Yuden.
I use the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, to make my Copies (plus other burning tasks). Often, the Copy can get past problems on the slightly damaged original media.
In my case, I have 2 totally different multi-drives, as one will read some media, better than the other. I choose the multi-drive that does the best, for my source and the other for my destination. If you only have one multi-drive, it does take a bit longer, as you then must Copy from the source disk, to the HDD, and then write to a destination disk in that same multi-drive.
As you have made a Copy to your HDD, which tested good, as it worked, I would just Copy THAT to a blank disk. That will likely yield a good backup installation disk, just in case you need it again. When you place that into a case, be sure to also copy your S/N to a lable on that case.
Good luck, and thanks for reporting your success,
    Hunt
