Notebook hardware control on a Satellite

Hi,
I want to ask if somebody has expirience with the programm notebook hardware control on a toshiba satellite.
Greetings.

Hi Olser
Usually if you use Toshiba designed tools it is enough for successfully notebook usage. Can you please tell us what you mean exactly with "hardware control"?

Because the Hotkey driver is installed, bluetooth cannot be activated by pressing Fn-F5 until the BT-driver has been installed.
    Otherwise:
Bluetooth can be enabled before the Hotkey-driver is installed.
I've tested it on several T61/X61 and older.

  • Satellite M50-182: Computer Hardware Control - can't see CPU temp

    Hello,
    I have M50-182 Satellite.
I have installed the Computer Hardware Control 1.10 Beta 02.
I can't see my CPU Temp.
    Can anybody help me.
    Thanks

I don't know the program you describe but you could perhaps download the last free version of the Everest Home Edition analytical tool from OldVersion.com
When you run it look under Computer/Sensor. It will show you your CPU temps and then you will at least know if it is the program or the sensor which is not working properly.

  • How do I set up different hardware controls for different patches in mainstage?

I'm using Mainstage 3.0.4 and a Novation Impulse.
I created a concert, with the drawbar organ as my first and most important patch. I assigned the hardware controls on the Novation exactly how I wanted them, with the sliders controlling the drawbars, and the rotary controls changing the distortion, reverb, etc. It was perfect. I was happy.
Then I added a new instrument (a new patch, not a new channel or anything like that), a Wurlitzer. Once again I assigned my hardware controllers as I wanted them, and was happy with that.
When I saved the concert, and went back to my organ patch, my settings didn't stay the same, but they still work for the Wurli.
My question is this - do I have to have a new concert for each instrument patch I want to use, if I need to assign different controllers for each patch? This would be stupid! If not, what I am doing wrong, that I can only set up one set of hardware controls per concert, instead of per patch?
Thank you in advance for the help!!!

CCTM, thank you! I have a small idea what you mean, but I still can't implement it :-)
    You have some fundamental choices:
    A) If you want to see Drawbar Controls for organ Patches, and then have other types ( knobs/sliders etc) for other Patches, you could simply make all the screen controls you need, then assign and map them as required.
    B) you could simply use drawbar screen controls only and remap them to other parameters for non-organ patches
    C) You could use Smart Controls ( which will update their appearance in a 'smart' way
    D) You could make your own Drawbar type controls using standard faders
The basic process in a 2 part thing:
Assign incoming MIDI messages from your controller to Screen Controls in Layout mode. This is global for concert. Per patch ( or Set or globally for the Concert) you then map the Screen Controls to parameters for each patch as needed.
Smart Control MIDI assignment is done in the Assignments and Mappings pane

  • Hardware control via a cin

I have the c++ code to control and collect data from an external piece of hardware (Nest of Birds) and I am trying to get LabView to both control and acquire data from it. The C code has an initialization, data acquire and shutdown stage. I am able to complete the whole sequence using a CIN provided there is no loop on the data acquisition stage. However if I try to split the code into separate CINs I can not get the data acquisition stage to loop.
    Please could you help me?

What you are saying makes a lot of sense!
The reason I was trying to use the CIN is because I have all the C++ code for the hardware control. My programming knowledge is fairly limited and as the C++ code is quite complex (for me!). I thought using a CIN would require the least manipulation of the program - but clearly this isn’t going to work.
So do you recommend that I try to rewrite the C++ code in LabView and only call the DLL?
It would really depend. If that C++ code is doing anything complex and involved it definitely wouldn't be feasable to try to do this all in LabVIEW. The you have another option: Turn that C++ code into your own DLL and call that DLL from LabVIEW. CIN development is only fun anymore if you want to do some pretty esotoric stuff or are doing it just for the fun of tinkering with a technology which at some point was quite useful. (LabVIEW for Windows 3.1 really needed that for interfacing in a good way to all kind of external code without always having to convert between 16bit and 32bit memory and causing performance hits by this.) Another approach might be to write one CIN which implements all three functions and takes an extra selector input to tell it which of the three functions it should execute. Then you won't have troubles with global variables residing in three different code resources and not being able to reference each other across CIN bounderies. But honestly the DLL aproach is most probably the best to follow.

  • Main Stage_Learning Hardware Controls

    Adored Readers,
Am trying to configure Main Stage to respond to/"learn" hardware controls on a Roland RD-300 keyboard. (Nothing fancy, just assigning next/previous buttons.) Have followed all manual/guide/help instructions but am getting nowhere. I'm assuming this is because  the keyboard is not recognized by MainStage on some level (if so, I don't know what). Software for the Roland is installed but perhaps there is some way to assign/activate the info? Many Thanks in advance for all replies!

My thanks to you. I'd thought that to be the case but now this is confirmed. Thanks again!

  • HT5886 Switch control use for hardware control

The switch control description in support says the menu provides you hardware control including "Press the Sleep/Wake button to lock the device" I do not see that anywhere on the menu? What am I missing?

    Hi Eyal,
Thanks a lot for your answer it has been very helpfull so far, but what I is happening now is as follows:
    - I have a text type ZUZZ which contains some text on the original activity.
    - I also have text type ZINT which should then contain the info from the the text type ZUZZ from the original activity. (That is the text from ZUZZ in the original activity should be copied into ZINT in the follow up activity).
I did as you told me and the text from ZUZZ was copied into ZINT but not on the follow up activity but on the original activity. I think that I might just be missing something on the customization but I don't know what it could be.
May I also clarify that the text ZUZZ is being filled up as a log (It takes the texts from another text and appends them with user name and time).
Type    Desc               Seq     Changes Transf     Access
    ZUZZ     Clico Log          200     R     A     ZCLILOG
ZINT     Clico Internal Note     250     R     A     ZCLIINT
    Access ZCLIINT has this:
    Ref. Object     CRM_ORDERH
    Ref. Object     Transaction header
    Ref. Text Type  ZUZZ
    Ref. Text Type  Clico Log
    Function        CRM_REFERENCE_TEXT_GET
Do you know if there is something else I am missing so the field text get copied to the follow up instead of being copied to itself?
    Best Regards,
    Felipe.

  • Fingerprint and remote control supported on Satellite P100-387

Does p100-387 have a fingerprint and remote control? Please, somebody answer me.
    Thanks.

    Hi
In my knowledge the Satellite P100-387 does not support the fingerprint reader and is not delivered with remote control.
    But you are right.
The fingerprint and remote control are optional and some notebooks from the P100 series support the fingerprint reader and are delivered with remote control.
I found also this site with the hardware specification of P100-387:

  • Replace my notebook drive in a Toshiba Satellite 5100/5105 - Experience?

I plan to replace the failing CDRW/DVD-drive in my Toshiba Satellite 5100-503 (european version, it was sold as 5105 in the US and other countries).
    The built-in drive is a UJDA730.
As upgrade I consider the highly regarded a Slimline DVD+/-RW drive. Unfortunately, some research on the internet revealed that upgrading a notebook's optical drive is not as straightforward as one might hope. I had no trouble removing my old drive (you only have to remove the keyboard and unscrew two screws), so I consider myself capable of putting in an new drive instead. However, two problems remain:
-mechanical compatibily: The 6500A appears to have a different front bezel layout. Its eject button and LED are in a different position than that of my current drive, so I doubt I will be able to use my old bezel with the other one. In addition, the bezel of my old drive has a recess in the lower right corner (similar to that found on some Fujitsu-Siemens notebooks), which gives room for the volume control of the notebook. So I cannot reuse the old bezel, and the NEC's bezel will probably not allow me to close the drive's tray. I wonder if some Dremel-work on the plastic parts of the NEC drive will allow me to fit it in physically. Has anybody tried that?
-electronical compatibility: notebook drives generally do not have jumpers to change their Master/Slave/cable select configuration. Instead this is set within the firmware, so changing it requires flashing a new firmware, which is not easy to come by and hard to do if your drive is not even recognized. SO I need to find out whether my notebooks needs the optical drive set to master, slave. cable select or "inverse cable select". Can anyone help me here, either by own experience or by directing me to an appropriate source on the web?

@chris_cool: I very well know that the drive is not removable like the one in the 5200 or many other notebooks. But it is simply wrong that it is "only replaceble with the same model". Slimline drives are standardized, so their mounting holes, connector placement etc. are not the problem. The only problem ist the front bezel (which is made of plastic, and I won't hesitate to cut it to fit to my notebook) and the master/slave setting, which, since it usually cannot be changed via jumper like in standard IDE devices, has to "fit" to the notebook. My primary question is what master/slave-setting my notebook expects from an optical drive. Since the usual system utilities cannot discern a true "master/slave" setting from a master/slave configuration derived by using "cable select", I don't see a way to find this out myself.
BTW: I don't care too much if the bezel of the new drive doesn't look too good on my notebook, as long as it works.
Especially since I will get superior functionality (DVD-recording) while probably paying less than for an original spare part. And going with an external drive is absolutely no option, since I would have no optical drive when taking the notebook along. Even if I did lug the heavy external drive around, most of them need an AC adapter. Some are powered via USB, but since my notebook has only USB 1.1 which only transfers a (theoretical!) maximum of 1,5MByte/s, this would allow reading and writing of CDs at a maximum speed of about 6x-8x. Less functionality, less comfort, and a higher price -> no option.
    @danielgaspar76
Do you happen to know the configuration of the replacement drive you bought? Is it in a master, slave or "cable select" or "inverse cable select" configuration?
You say you changed the front bezel... I think this only worked because the drives are from the same manufacturer. I doubt I will be that lucky with the NEC drive, since LED, eject button etc. are in a different place. I don't mind cutting the NEC drive's bezel to fit. It won't look pretty, but I am quite confident that it can be done. Yet not a 100% sure... ;-)
I am not too much concerned about the recovery CD, since I am using Linux with the notebook anyway.

  • Mode, audio/video control buttons on Satellite A20-S103

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to set this controls? (this controls buttons are on front of the notebook.)
I don't have any more original cd which come with this notebook and i don't know how to set them. If i press any of this keys nothing happens. I'm not shore my be this buttons are related only with Toshiba Media Player, if yes where can i find it and download it?
    Thanks in advance
    Darko

There are not so many drivers that you can miss it. Just download the driver for "Controls" which version is 2.6.2900 and remove the software you installed before so you can be sure that the downloaded one can be properly installed.
I dont understand why it doesnt works. If you have XP and you installed it by using the "setup.exe" then I dont really dont know where the problem is..

  • More hardware controls than just a mouse

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to STP. I'm looking to have more control over my tracks than to be always using my mouse to point/click/drag.
I have an audio interface for 5.1 monitor, but beyond that I don't have much experience with mixing boards or any other additional hardware for STP.
In fact, I'm not even sure if that's what I need is a mixing board or if it is called a control surface or etc.
Very appreciative if someone can push me in the right direction and maybe at least put a proper name on the piece of hardware that I'm trying to describe.
    Thanks!
    Jeff
    p.s.
My main use for STP will be to use on FCP projects.

Soundtrack Pro supports the Mackie Control and Logic Control protocols.
The current Mackie controllers that support Soundtrack Pro are the Mackie MCU Pro
    - a HUI would also work, you can probably find used ones or still in stock items at some dealers.
Also the Eucon supports the Mackie/HUI protocol.
There may be others. Here's some more information on controllers.

  • Architecture for multi hardware control

    Hi
I am designing a optical multi board control system which includes a Laser source, a Polorization Control module and a Polorimeter, the 3 modules are dependent with each other. I think we only need to understand the hardware are 3 different modules and cooperate with each other, do not need to understand the instrument detail.
I need to open modules, active Laser source, use Polarization Control to change light parameter and use Polorimeter to measure the result.
Every module should be configed, measure prosess must contains control, acquire, save data, and so on, the software can open and analyze saved data without instument connection.
Always I like to use PC event pattern to construct my event driven system to make it looks like a classic windows software, day after day I find that event driven is not suitable everywhere and LabVIEW is not a traditional language with his own characteristic, more project I have finished, more puzzles for my architecture design, I browses NI forum everyday for good thead about architecture, but I am still a pupil in LabVIEW area.
Another thing is an instument keep alive information need to be sent with fixed interval, if I understood"keep alive correctly".
Anyone have such a multi instuments development experience.
Thank you very much for your sinerely advice.

    Hi Liming and Olli
My instrument are controlled by VISA but vendor provide me relevant instrument drivers VI.
the 3 instruments do not need high speed to run, the 3rd instrument which is a meter is usually at 333s/s speed, I do not think they need a synchronous structure(maybe I have not understood "synchronous" you said.), just a slow cooperation with each other. e.g, the 1st instrument general laser and keep it, the laser through the 2nd instrument and changed status, then the 3rd instrument measurement interrated parameters, these parameters must be saved and the saved data can be open and analyzed after acquisition. Sometimes it seems a "chain", everyone depend on the others and sometimes I only need a single instrument such as laser source to work for other intent .
Previously I use a Producer/consumer to make it a event based architecture, but I found it is  very difficult to flexible control them in one consumer loop.
More project I finished, more puzzles I have on LabVIEW architecture.
    Thanks everyone.

  • External Hardware Control

I have been using Mainstage for live for the last couple of months which has been fantastic however does anyone know of any way to control external hardware (modules, etc)? I suspect that there isn't at this stage.
Assuming Apple reads these forums, can we register our desire for this type of control in a near-future update?
    Cheers

MainStage 1.0 is designed to be "convert" your Mac into a software instrument. It is not a control software for external gear.
I am sure Apple is monitoring these forums and collecting ideas for version 2 already. But they just ship version 1 - give them a little christmas break.

Where can I obtain a new volume control switch for a PLUA1E-00700JEN?
I do not want the complete board only the switch.

Contact nearest authorized service provider. Make a call and ask if they can order this small part for you.
Do you want to exchange it alone?
Have you already disassembled your notebook?

  • T500: hardware controlled volume problem

    hi all,
i have a T500 (running winxp pro) i bough 1 month ago. i have been having problems with teh hardware volume control.
1st symptom appeared when i started using the ethernet port to connect to teh internet. whenever the computer was connected, the volume display kept appearing without me using teh volume buttons.
2nd symptom appeared today, while using an external FireWire operated sound card. whenever the external soundcard is connected to the firewire port and is turned on, the volume of the internal card shifts to Zero and i cannot turn it up. even not through the control panel. this did not used to be. i have worked with that external sound card for the last month and i know that this problem started today. also, i mut add that i am not using the computer's built in 1394 port but am using a PCMCIA card that gives me extra FireWire ports.
i would love to hear any thoughts on the matter. or has anyone encountered that kind of problem before?
    thank you all.

Do you have Vista SP1 installed using Boot Camp 2.1 or 2.0?
This may not be your case, but, Boot Camp 2.1 must be installed into Vista (pre-SP1), prior to updating to Vista SP1.
    Similar issue with XP SP3:
    See this post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1838705&tstart=30
My MBP, 2.66 Disc's came with 2.1 so I didn't need to install 2.1 and after all the auto updates SP1 was installed and the audio worked right off the bat.
F.Y.I. - My UMB came with 2.0. and I had the same issue, I see you have a 2.33; it might came with BC 2.0.
Additionally, not that this pertains to your situation, but I'll share it with anyway. I used a bare bones OEM, Vista installation Disc that needed all auto updates from MS, then, and only then, would it allow an auto update for SP1. It needed all the previous updates to properly install Vista SP1.
