Notebook HP Pavilion zd8130EA, maximum RAM configuration.

Hello,
I would like to expand to the maximum the memory of the notebook
HP Pavilion zd8130EA - (EB872EA)
currently equipped with 512 MB DDR2 400MHz (2x256 MB).
According to the official datasheet, the notebook supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory.
Therefore I thought to buy No. 2 memory modules such as:
2x 1GB DDR2 SODIMM.
My questions are:
-How 1GB modules are supported, 1 or 2?
-Must be 400MHz or can also use 533MHz?
Thank you

Hi:
The easiest thing to do is to run the free Crucial memory scanner which will report how much and what kind of memory you can install in your notebook.
http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspx
I can't find the spec sheet on your PC.
If it takes 2 GB of DDR2 memory you can install 2 x 1 GB of any DDR2 memory as it will downclock to the fastest speed the chipset/processor can handle.
Anyway, the tool above will give you the answers you are looking for.

  • Best RAM configuration for Macbook (mid 2007)

Hi, I have a Macbook (mid 2007) with 1 GB ram and I would like to upgrade. Currently I have 2x512MB, so both of my memory slots are taken. Is it a good idea to have one 512MB card and a 2GB card in the other slot? Otherwise, what is the best RAM configuration for a mid 2007 macbook?
I am also looking into purchasing this memory card for my macbook, is this a good choice?

Yes, I read the figure 128 in regards to the benefit. Something about interleaving, maybe?
In doing a Google search for that article I saw, I found this:
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/apple-notebooks/99215-4gb-ram-my-macbook.html
the maximum amount of RAM your laptop can take is 3.3GB. So while you can physically insert 4GB of RAM, OS X will only be able to see 3.3GB of it.
But I don't know how knowledgeable that poster is who says it can utilize 3.3 GB. I do know that the full 4 GB shows up in the System Profiler on my MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz.

  • Maximum RAM Ceiling for G710 (Model 59400022)?

    I'm interested in buying the G710 - 59400022 laptop.  It's the model that's 17" with 1600x900 resolution.
However, one spec that I'm quite concerned about is the RAM ceiling.  All information on the Lenovo site shows that this model can only accept a maximum RAM amount of 8GB.  If true, then I cannot purchase it.
Can anyone confirm if this is accurate or incorrect?  Has anyone bought this specific model and added more than 8GB of RAM to it?  The processor in this model (4th Generation Intel Core i5-4200M 2.5GHz Processor ) can address up to 32GB of RAM.
    Any confirmation would be helpful.

    hi ABAB,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Looking at the spare parts for the Ideapad G710 (model 59400022), the stock RAM is a:
    11200504 - SODIMM 8G M471B1G73BH0-YK0 DDR3L 1.35V
Page 28 of the HMM states that the G710 can take 2xSODIMM and up to 16GB RAM so it's possible that the machine can only be configured with 8GB of RAM (from the lenovo website) but can take 16GB max (though I can't confirm this as there's no available model here in the lab).

  • Hp pavilion 15-n240se ram

What the Maximum RAM can I raise my laptop hp pavilion 15-n240se to??

    Yes, it's the same.
Only thing to keep in mind is the Operating system should be 64-bit for any upgrade more than 4GB.
32-bit OS can only "take" 3.5GB at the most.

  • Maximum RAM of my laptop

    Hello there,
I am new in the forum. I want to know maximum RAM memory of my laptop Pavilion g6 model: 1008eq
It has installed 1x3GB, so can i add more like 1x2GB or 3,4 GB's ?
    Thanks.

Here is the Manual: Your Service Manual You do not have 1 x 3 gigs. Memory modules come in 1, 2, 4, 8 sizes only so you have a 1 gig and a 2 gig. The HP specs say your maximum memory is 4 gigs but the Manual says 8 gigs and I am trusting the Manual.  See page 51 of the Manual for installation instructions. To max it out you will have to remove the 2 modules you have and install 2 of these: 4 GB PC3 10600 1333 MHz shared 621569-001 Here it is on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/HP-DDR3-SDRAM-Memory-Module/dp/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437313975&sr=8-1&keywords=621569-001&pebp=1437313978332&perid=0JBW8Y69J7W6FH7VV963 It will be $48 for 8 gigs which is not too bad. You could also just remove the 1 gig and replace it with a 2 gig for a total of 4 gigs.  http://www.amazon.com/Hynix-PC3-10600-204-Pin-Laptop-SODIMM/dp/B004K4IULS/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1437314092&sr=8-16&keywords=2+GB+PC3+10600 1 gig additional does not sound like much but that one extra gig is the sweet spot for price/performance.  In case you are more of a visual learner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6m9YrjfHZE If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

  • Maximum RAM for 17-inch PowerBook

Apple says that the maximum RAM I can put in this machine is 1 Gig. I saw in another discussion that some say I can double that. Does anyone know if this is true, and can you point me to the supporting documentation?
    Thanks!

If you fear getting the wrong RAM, shopping at brick-n-mortar electronic superstores and office supplies is a good way fuel your fear and waste money. Buy online from long-established vendors of Mac RAM. These sites will have a web "configurator" to precisely identify your computer and the RAM it needs.
I've bought Mac RAM with complete satisfaction from:
    Other World Computing
    Data Memory Systems
    Ramjet
Other people like Crucial.com; their stuff is high quality and they are among the oldest venders. I've also heard good things about Ram Direct from experience Mac forum members.
    Hope this helps.

  • Maximum RAM - x60s

    Hi,
I'm after some advice please.  I have a X60s 1702 with the 1.5GHz dual core processor fitted with 2Gb of RAM.  I was thinking of adding some additional memory but, depending on which advice I read, either 2Gb is the max it's possible to fit OR I could fit 2 x 2Gb memory modules.
Could anyone give me the categorical answer over the maximum RAM it's possible to fit?
     Thanks very much,
    S-M
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Notebook specifications are often wrong when it comes to maximum RAM.
I think the reason for this is that the specifications show maximum widely available RAM at the time of release of the notebook.
The X61 is a case in point. The X61 specifications clearly say "Supports maximum memory up to 4GB". But the X61 clearly supports 8GB, as does the X61s.
I've upgraded two of my recent laptops well beyond the specified maximum.
Unfortunately I can't find any evidence that anyone has tried 8GB in an X60!
Maybe you want to be the early adopter?
Oh and just as a reminder to anyone following along, you will need a 64 bit OS to see all 8GB.
