Notebook PC Sound and Audio

Notebook PC Sound and Audio

Hello surya94,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand there is no sound coming from your computer anymore. I can do my best to assist you. Please try all of the steps in this document to re-enable sound on your computer: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)
Please let me know what happens after these steps are completed. If there is still no sound, try connecting a pair of headphones or external speakers and see if sound will come out from those. Thanks!

    Hi there,
First of all would you tell me where did you downloaded some software where you thought it would bring back your sound?
Since your machine is from america you would have to go to the american driver download site:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
Please visit the link Ive posted and download the sound driver. Install it and check if the sound works.
In case of any question just feel free and ask...

  • Satellite P30-145: Don't have an audio device in 'Sounds and Audio devices'

    Hi guys,
I've only just fixed one problem with the help of one fantastic member but now I have another!
All of a sudden my speakers decide not to work!! I checked the volume etc and alll was fine but when I went in control panel>sounds and audio devices it says I don't have an audio device!!!
It worked fine this morning and I havn't done anything that could have done this.
These problems I'm having are all spontaneous, I don't know what's going on!
Does anyone know how I can fix this and does anyone suspect virus activity? (I have done a scan which said I don't have any)
    I use a P30-145
    Many thanks

    Hi
Did you check the device manager?? Is the sound card listed properly in the device manager or some yellow exclamation marks appear?
Did you try to reinstall the sound driver? If not, please try it.
Of course I would also recommend to update the anti virus applications and to scan the system for virus and malware

  • How to open sounds and audio properties using Labview function

    Hi All,
How to open the sounds and audio properties of the control panel using the Labview system exe vi.
Is there any dll also to open this property.
If there is dll which is that and how to program the dll to serve my purpose.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Have you looked at the "Graphics and Sounds" section within the Functions Palette (Block Diagram)? There are VI's that already exist for this.

  • Sound and audio device

hey i just format my Compaq C707TU laptop and its sound and audio driver not working, please suggest me for proper driver to install in my laptop.

    Hi,
    For XP:
Before Conexant Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) here
Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers here
This will create a swsetup folder in c drive ("C:\swsetup\sp34200")
Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
    Open the Device Manager:
    1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
    2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
    3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
    4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
    5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
    6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
    7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
    Similarly install Modem Drivers:
Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP here
1.Right click on "Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
    2. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
    3. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
    4. Click Next and then select "Modem" from the list.
    5. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
    6. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp33890 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2b) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
    For Vista:
    Conexant High-Definition Audio here
Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP here

  • Audigy , Sound and Audio Devices Properties 'No Audio Device' appears

<p class="MsoNormal">Out of the blue, in the Sound and Audio Devices Properties, on the Volume tab ?No Audio Device? appears.
On the Sound tab of Sound and Audio Devices Properties, my Default Device says ?Modem # Line play back and is my only drop down choice. I made no configuration changes or installed any new software, it just stopped working.
I have searched for solutions, to no avail. I have an ?!? next to the Microsoft Kernel Audio Mixer in Device Manager that upon re-install displays a message that there was a problem installing this hardware(MEDIA) I/O operation has been aborted because of either a threadd exit or an application request(both installing from driver folder and recovery CD).
I don?t particularly care what sound device I have, just one that works again. I?ve uninstalled the sound devices and let them re-install on reboot and have checked the BIO settings (I don?t have any sound related settings there).
In Admin Tools > Services ?Windows Audio? is started and set to Automatic. When I manually try to play a windows sound in the Sounds tab I get an error message that says my sound card may be in use.
Under Sound and Audio Devices in Device Manager I currently have(when I ?Show Hidden?):
    -Audio codecs
    -Legacy Audio Drivers
    -Legacy Video Capture Devices
    -Media Control Devices
    -Video codecs
Don't know what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Audigy shares IRQ with IDE controller and firewire controller. This is not good.
NOTE: I suppose you're running your PC on "Standard PC" -mode (since IRQ's >5 not showing). If so, you can try to assign IRQ for the PCI slot, Audigy is installed, manually from BIOS. See your motherboard manual page 4-26.
Can you check if your PC is running as "Standard PC" and not as "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" (Device Manager --> Computer). Make it "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" --> you get more IRQs (virtual) in use.
NOTE: You may need to reinstall OS to get this done.
Also you may need to enable APIC mode on BIOS.
    How To:
    A) Go to 'Device Manager' a short cut to get there is "Right Click" on the My computer Icon on your desktop (Control Panel --> System --> Hardware),
    B) Next click on 'Computer', then double click on 'Standard PC'. Then select 'Driver' and then 'Update Driver'.
    C) At this point you will see a screen pop up asking you to do this "Automatically" or Select 'Display a list of the known drivers for this device', - Choose this option.
    D) Next you will see - 'Show all hardware of this device class'. Now you can select "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" in the list shown in the window to the right.
    E) Now Windows needs/will re-start and re-install all hardware/ settings needed to run in this configuration.

  • My desktop has no sound and audio ???? What do you suggest is wrong, the lines to the computer tower

Operating with Windows 7, Computer is an Acer model. I have no sound or audio, all lines are hooked up in the back of the computer correctly. What would you suggest is wrong and what to do to get the sound back on my computer ?????
                               Thank You   Cindy {Personal Information Removed}

Typically desktop PC's do not have speakers unless they are external.  So unless there were speakers in the box, then you have correct assumption.  I had another with the same question and unless the monitor has speakers, then external speakers are required.
On the other question, it would seem that installing Windows 7 may not void the warrenty, as HP does not support the OS, other than providing it.
