Notebook soundcard with dolby digital live

Hello,
I'm searching everywhere for a soundcard with dd li've output. My current USB x-fi surround 5. doesn't have that.
I've found the Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA (but my laptop only has an expresscard slot).
So then I found the SB X-FI Xtreme Audio Notebook as an express card. Does that allow dd li've?
Does Creative offer a laptop soundcard with dd li've support?
Thanks

tried. Same result. i think Im gonna have to uninstall and reinstallt he whole sha-bang again.. this sux

  • BF3 poor audio quality with Dolby Digital Live anabled.

Hello, i have a X-Fi Fatality card connected to audio receiver with the Toslink cable with the Dolby Digital Live enabled, and in BF3 i hear that bullets sounds more like popcorn crack very low quality, with BF2 the audio was awesome. Anyone else having the same problem?

There are several Fatality cards - which one do you have? OS is Win7 i guess? So which driver are you using? Did you try Danial_Ks Support Pack? You also installed newest patch for BF3?

  • Cmss 3d doesnt work with dolby digital live pack

0cmss 3d doesnt work with dolby digital li've pack4 From the page of Dobly Digital Li've pack
"Stereo content (MP3, WMA, CD audio or games) that is transformed into 5. surround sound using Creative CMSS-3D or DTS Neo:PC can also benefit from this encoding scheme that will further enhance the entertainment value of your Sound Blaster X-Fi."
with that said, i bought the pack that has both DDL and DTS Interacti've. but while playing music my reciever only gets front left and right channels. No sound comes from the center or rear channels. This is with CMSS 3D on. With analog all 5 speakers work. Before installing this pack, my reciever got PCM input from the optical line. Thus only the front channels working. now with this pack the speaker recognises that the signal is Dolby or DTS yet, only the front channels work. in short there is no difference with this pack.
could someone please explain to me how to get the whole 5. working with Dolby or DTS
    thank you
Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum, Driver 2.8.003

thank you for the promp reply
the problem was with the reciever. just a change in setting was all it took
but now i have anoter problem
how do i bypass dolby and dts signals from movies to my reciever
before i simply had to set spdif out as default sound device and set ac3filter to spdif passthru
now the driver panel tells me that SPDIFOut will be exclusvely be used by DTS Interactiv. it doesnt pass the signal through from Media player classic or powerdvd.
am i expected to turn off DTS Interacti've or DDL when watching a movie and needing to pass on the signal?

  • Is creative EVER going to produce a soundcard with Dolby Digital Encodi

It would be really nice if Creative would make a soundcard that included DD Encoding and a real SPDIF output and not ont that only supports AC-3 passthru from DVDs and PCM stereo! Especially since nVidia did it on the old nForce2 MCP-T and C-Media also supports DD Encoding in thier CMI8768 chip used on this card (http://www.bluegears.com/soundcard_xmystique.html). The real killing thing is that now that Realtek now has the HD Realtek ALC880 CODEC for AC-97 sound that does DD-Encoding (http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/products-2.aspx?modelid=2004058) so that motherboards will now be able to have DD Encoding and not the $400 creative card!

    Hi Jason,
I do not mean to be difficult but, as I stated in my original post, I have an SB0220, and that driver would not install. It reports that it cannot detect any Sound Blaster audio card on my system, even though Creative Diagnostics (the version installed from the cd) reports that everything is installed and working correctly (passed all tests), and the setup program on the original install cd works without any problems. This would seem to indicate to me that your information source is wrong.
In any case, that is not the point of my post. The point is that this card (and other SB022x models) should be included. It does not necessarly have to be in it's own category (although it would make it much easier to find the correct software/drivers/documentation if it was), but it should be included somewhere. Even if the link brings you to a page that says that currently there are no available updates for this card, it should be included. Currently, the documentation for this card is not even available for download. I can understand there not being any driver updates as of yet, but if nothing else, the documentation should be avaialble.

  • Does MSI 990FXA-GD80 support Dolby Digital Live?

I need to output DD5.1 to a Turtle Beach Earforce DSS decoder. It know that some realtek-equipped motherboards can encode to DD Live do this but I don't have the option for DD Live in the Realtek Sound Manager under Supported Formats, nor in Windows sound properties under Advanced, although under Supported Formats it does show Dolby Digital (not Live) ticked.
So is it possible to do this or will I need to buy another soundcard?

    Hello,
I purchased a mini to TOSLINK optical cable to connect my GT70 0NC to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system and I was wondering if the ALC892 supports Dolby Digital Live. I'm able to get DTS and Dolby Digital to work just fine, but I don't see an option to change the default format of the digital output in the Realtek HD Audio Manager to Dolby Digital Live. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with the latest audio drivers available.
    Thanks
    I hate saying this.
Do yourself a favor, go buy an Asus Xonar U3, plug it in, and you will be much happier.
I have a Z680 (precursor to the Z5500, pretty much the same thing though), and I couldn't stand how bad the Realtek HD performed. The Asus Xonar does a much better job. You hook it up, set it to output to the 'speakers', but have your TOSLINK cable connected, and you get upconverted dolby digital live sound output. Couldn't ask for anything better. The U3 only runs about $40, so it's not a huge investment.

  • How do I get Dolby digital live or DTS connect to work?

I have the sound blaster Zx sound card and the logitech z906 5.1 surround speaker system. I am connecting to the speakers via optical cable. I figured Dolby digital live and/or DTS would sound great with this set up, only problem when I turn on either of those my speakers go silent. I set Speakers: Soundblaster Z as my default playback device but other than that I am not sure what I need to do to get it to work.
    Bruce

I have the z 906 speakers, not the Z-5500 in your link. The manual I already have says the z906 speakers automatically detect the digital signal. I figured the Sound Blaster card would convert an analog signal to digital since it is going into the speakers through the Optical cable, I guess I was wrong.
I have read the link about digital connections on these forums along with the notice in the cinematic tab in the Sound Blaster control panel. I believe they are both saying that I will not be able to use my music player (windows media player) in conjunction with the Dolby DTS and Dolby Digital Live, is this true?
If so then is the only way to listen to the DTS or digital Live effects is through a DVD or Blu ray disc encoded for either of those effects?
If this is true how do I test my dolby digital outputs to make sure they are working correctly?

  • Dolby Digital Live on Mac Pro?

Is it possible to use Dolby Digital Live on a Mac Pro (2011), OS X Lion?  If so, how?
Does OS X Lion support 3rd party audio cards, like Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Pro?

Seems like Dolby Digital Live with 5.1 is not supported under mac.. bummer

    Hi,
I bought a Creative Soundblaster X-f1 5.1 pro soundcard (Model nmber SB1095) today and after installing on my windows XP SP2 machine i can not find the dolby digital live encoding options or 3d options on my entertainment console.
I have a tritton AX Pro headphones, and I am trying to give them DDL input from the Sound card using optical digital out. But, as can be seen in the attached screenshots... i do not see the Dolby Digital Live encoding options anywhere.

    Hi,
I am afraid the DDL is only for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
What 3d options are you referring to?
You might want to refer to the product page for details.

  • Dolby Digital Live : Device already in use, how to enable i

    Hello,
I bought Dolby Digital Live yesterday, installed it and activated it on my X-Fi Platinum, but I have a problem. All my drivers are updated, but whenever I try to activate DDL in the Volume Panel or Audio Console, it says that the SPDIF device is already in use.
I tried ending most processes, but the problem is the same, it seems that something is internally using my SPDIF output so that DDL can't be activated. (I'm using Vista Business 32 bits).
It's also impossible to test tones on the SPDIF output as Windows also says it's already in use, that's weird.
Anyone knows how to fix this
    Thanks.

Ok it worked, thank you ^^
This is what I did (complete reinstall of Creative suite was not needed) :
    - Uninstalled Creative X-Fi through Device Manager (right click on it, then Uninstall and Delete driver option), without rebooting
    - Refreshed modifications in Device manager and said "No" to search drivers for multimedia device
    - Installed latest X-Fi drivers without rebooting
    - Activated Dolby Digital Li've with a right click on the Volume Panel tray icon
    - Rebooted?as the sound was only stereo + echo, and now it works perfectly
Concerning DDL, yes, it's only 5., and Creative plans to "give" DTS Connect the same way they did for DDL for old X-Fi.

  • Dolby Digital Live

Currently there are very few solutions for those of us that want true digital surround audio in our games. It's sad to say but the best in gaming audio usually comes from console systems because they are typically hooked up to home entertainment systems with spdif digital outs. So just like when you listen to a movie in Dolby Digital 5.1, you get great sound.
Now in the PC world, most games either don't support Dolby, or use some other forms of analog surround.
Dolby came up with a solution, which more games are starting to support. They call it Dolby Digital Live, it's basically a way for computer gamers to get true digital surround audio via a spdif output. The catch is, you have to have a sound card or motherboard which includes Dolby Digital Live.
From the research I've done, it seems the Mac Pros include what Intel calls their High Definition Audio solution, which on most chipsets is also known to include Dolby Digital Live, in this case the ACL880 chipset provided by Realtek should contain DDL.
My question is for those with their Mac Pros, spdif speakers, and XP installed. As mine is still on order, I'd like to find out if this is working. You would need to have a set of 5.1 speakers attached via the optical out of the Pro, and using the correct Realtek drivers under XP, run a game tagged with the Dolby Digital logo, such as Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.
So basically if it works, you should be getting 5.1 surround and some really nice audio.

    Hello Zacabeb,
I understand you are wondering if you can use the Dolby Digital Live on your HP Pavilion 500-205eo Desktop PC. According to the HP Pavilion 500-205eo Desktop PC Product Specifications your audio is the Integrated IDT 92HD73E Audio. I am providing you with the 92HD73E Datasheet, which on page 2 lists Dolby Digital Live™ (DDL) as supported. This being said to enable the Dolby Digital Live in Windows 8.1 I would advise you to ensure you that have downloaded and installed the IDT High Definition Audio Driver.
Please re-post if you require additional support. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!

  • Msi x79a-gd45 plus and Dolby Digital Live

I bought a pair of Astro A50's to enjoy surround sound music and gaming. I have surround for music but with gaming you need Dolby Digital Live to get 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound with this headset. I have a msi x79a-gd45 plus, now does anyone know if DDL is compatible with my on-board sound card? Apparently you can download DDL for 5 dollars and I'd love to for the sake of surround gaming, but only if it actually works with my card.

Have you checked with the Realtek website for that application?

  • Dolby Digital Live - Not Worki

    Hi guys,
I am having a few snags with Dolby Digital Li've. I purchased a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty (Championship Gaming Series) in order to convert audio to Dolby Digital Li've and send it to my home cinema amp. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get it to work
I have enabled Dolby Digital Live in the 'Encoder' tab in the Creatiev Audio Console and I have set SPDIF out as the default in Windows Vista Control Panel. The SPDIF output is listed there as 'working' but when I ask it to do a test an error just comes up 'Failed to play test tone'. Interestingly if I try to play a video or audio in Windows Media Player that crashes - I don't get any sound at all.
Games play but with no sound. Set the default back to the Speakers and all is well.
Anyone know how to solve this Am I missing something obvious
    My system is:
    - Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition QX6700 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.66GHz (066FSB)
    - Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2xGB)
    - Gigabyte GA_P35_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
    - Seagate 600W
    - Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty
    - XFX 8800 Ultra Extreme 768MB GDDR3 DVI HDTV Out PCI-E
    Thanks in advance!

Just as an update I now seem to have the system working 'in game' which is exactly what I wanted. Windows still won't play the test tone and Media Play doesn't like it at all - but Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars works as do a few other games I've tried.

  • Can't TAG Mp4 files with Dolby Digital AC3 5.1

Hi everyone, I use iTunes to TAG all my Mp3 and Mp4, I have over 100,000 Mp3 tagged with iTunes without no problem and over 2,000 DVDs concerts, TV series, etc in Mp4 format tagged also with iTunes without any problems, all my Mp4 til now have 2 channel stereo sound.
My problem now is that I'm making some Mp4 movies with dolby digital 5.1 and this Mp4 play perfect in iTunes and QuickTime ''but'' I can't TAG them in iTunes because of the AC3 5.1, I'm sure of this because everthing made in 2 channel stereo have no problem to TAG in iTunes. If I TAG them its seems in the begining to write the TAGs but if I clear iTunes and then re-load again the files the TAGs dissapears.
I use MAC and PC. I use Nero Recode 2 to make my Mp4. I have the last version of iTunes and QT.... I have noticed that Winamp can write the TAGs without any problems and stays there but what I need is to iTunes recognize that TAGs because I run all my libraries in iTunes
Thanks in advance, sorry for my english.

Anybody please, any answer can help me please... Is that no body has experience this same problem?
If iTunes can't support TAGs with 5.1 is possible to fix this in the next update?
    Regards

  • Any Dolby Digital Live/DTS Connect support?

I'm just wondering if there were any products (USB/Firewire preferred, but PCI also) that support Dolby Digital Live and/or DTS Connect? Specifically, a product that will output bitstream AC3 or DTS to a home theater receiver via SPDIF?
(and I don't mean simply passing thru a DVD's AC3 or DTS, I mean outputting all system sound via transcoding to AC3/DTS bitstreams)
I've got a bgears b-enspirer for a PC, but I'd rather use a Mac for home theater and possibly World of Warcraft..

    Hi Mathew
I have a Griffin FireWave. These are no longer made but may still be available if you search. It is a firewire device which give you 6 (5.1) channels of audio output. The outputs are direct speaker connections (L/R C/S LS/RS), so you need to be sure your home theatre system accepts these. It does NOT have optical outputs to a home theatre system and I think it's unlikely that you'll even find something which does.
The FireWave is a great device. It allows me to choose 5.1 audio output in Audio Midi Setup. It can then be driven in 5.1 mode by suitably written applications, and it also gives me full surround sound when I play a DVD.
I have seen some similar USB devices, but none of them claim to be Mac compatible - which seems rather odd to me!
