Hi danaparo,
What kind of notebook has a tv tunner bullit in or a hdmi slot input?
As I tried to double check the Toshiba website there is no Toshiba laptop's that has built-in TV tuner.
This are the Toshiba laptop's that has built-in HDMI slot input:
1. Toshiba Satellite S50-BBT2N22 Laptop click HERE.
This is a customizable laptop and you can still change the specs according to your preference.
2. Toshiba Satellite P50-BBT2N22 Laptop click HERE. It has a lot of features that other laptops do not have. Featuring an aluminum body, harman/kardon stereo speakers, multi-touch clickpad, 1080p displays, LED backlit keyboards, and options like Blu-ray and touch screen.
Feel free to visit the toshibadirect.com for more options.
Hope this works for you!
BTW IF YOU THINK IT HELPS ALOT. PLEASE DONT BE AFRAID TO CLICK KUDOS star ^_^

  • Disatisfied notebook owner with an aftersales support

Is Toshiba making its customers victims of its success? Generally reliable products resulting in a poor aftersales support?
I have been using laptops for business and pleasure for several years without fault and as the satisfied owner of Toshiba TVs and other electronic equipment decided to buy one of their laptops.
I paid in full for a new L series and after 6 months of normal use it stopped charging. Felt like the pin in the machine the charger plugs into was loose.
I contacted the supplier and they accepted it would need repairing and after apologising for my inconvenience, were happy to carry it out but pointed out it would probably be repaired quicker if I contacted Toshiba and asked them to carry out the repairs.
So I did. And it just goes down hill from there. First mistake was mine, not registering the warranty. So I tried to do that. But I'd bought on line and as my six month old machine was apparently manufactured 11months and 28 days ago, I had to provide evidence of purchase. Offering to email a copy of my bank statement showing the purchase date, price and supplier was not satisfactory.
This meant contacting the supplier in London during office hours, the same as I work, and therefore not easy to do. They emailed me a copy of this and I then spent two nights trying to forward this to Toshiba for verification.
This I eventually did and the next day during another lunch hour, rang to arrange collection. I was put though to a repair tech who said yes, we can repair this but his manager told him it would not be a warranty repair, regardless of the fact it was only six months old. I rang off, not happy.
Next day, I rang back, spoke to some one else and was able to arrange for collection, having been told that if, in their view, it was my fault it was not working I'd have to pay for repairs and the return fee of almost 80. These threats, and thats how i view them, were given regardless of my statement that it was used normally like all the other ones I'd used for years and was less than 6months old.
The following Monday, it was not collected as agreed. It was collected on Tuesday and not packed by the collection company as I was told, I did it as the driver did not know how the box worked. Neither did I but I did it. And, as instructed, I did not include the charger unit.
It was returned, unannounced, at the beginning of the third week, over four since it stopped working. By way of explanation, a two line note was found behind the address label saying the DC In lead changed, battery tested.
Happy just to have it back, I took it home, plugged it in and it doesn't work. Looks like the charger is faulty as well as the pin. I am so not looking forward to tring to get this bit sorted.
Sorry this is so long winded but this is my experience of Toshiba's after sales service. I can't help but wonder if I am the only dissapointed, disallusioned and angry customer out there and am curious to hear of the treatment others have experienced.

    Hello
At first sorry to hear you have this negative experience but in such situation you must be a little bit realistic. It is well known that notebook manufacturers or any other manufacturer by different products recommend product registration and it should be done pretty quickly and not 6 months later. Last month I bought pretty expensive vacuum cleaner with 5 years warranty and I have registered immediately. Now if something goes wrong I can be sure it will be repaired for free.
Anyway, it is nice to hear you made one big mistake.
I use two Toshiba notebooks and I have registered both of them after first start immediately when this option was offered even before operating system started for the first time.
Unfortunately I cannot help you with your case but just want to write about mine experiences.
After just one month of usage motherboard on my Satellite A300 died. I just wanted to connect external HDD but some electric shock destroyed whole power supply electronic and my external HDD was dead too.
I have contacted Toshiba service in my country and next day I was in the shop. I didn't want to be arrogant or make some kind of pressure and just kindly asked if this can be fixed as soon as possible.
You will not believe me 7 days later I got my notebook back with new motherboard.
I was so happy so I paid coffee for two technicians who have managed all this.
One more time sorry to hear you had bad luck with all this but I think it is not to give general statements about service worldwide. Maybe the guys in my country are more motivated to do good job. ;)

Home Sharing is designed to work on your local network not across the internet/cloud.
Stuff is accessed under the Computers column where your local iTunes library on a local computer would appear.
Home Sharing would share your iTunes content (i.e. stuff stored in itunes on the computer, not in the cloud) with AppleTV or an iPad etc on the SAME network.
AppleTV2 will not be able to see itunes content on the work computer over the internet.  It's not designed to.  if the work computer was on the home network it would.
iCloud is in it's infancy and is not a mature product - iTunes TV Show purchases appear on AppleTV, but currently music does not unless you are subscribed to iTunes Match. I find this rather odd to be honest, along with the inability to buy music on AppleTV2.  Movies purchased in iTunes are not authorised for iCloud viewing currently either.
Maybe it has something to do with iTunes Match 'getting in the way' - i think they assume you'll use that whereas you really want to be able to access Purchased music from the cloud without subscribing to itunes Match which is overkill for some.

  • HP Pavilion 15t-n200 Notebook PC with Windows 7

Several days ago, the HP Pavilion 15t-n200 Notebook PC with Windows 7 was listed on your website with an 'after savings' price of $599 which included a free upgrade from the 8G RAM to 12G Ram. No additional software, etc. The only reason I didn't purchase it then is because I was waiting for funds to clear as I buy all our equipment on a cash-only basis.
Today, your Labor Day 'Sale' is showing the same laptop with an 'after savings' price $549, however the upgrade to the 12G Ram is now $75. I've been an HP buyer for the last 10 years, but this seems more like an illusion of a sale than an actual sale for the same exact specs.
    Can someone please explain??
    Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm sorry, this is not an acceptable answer.  I've been watching this laptop for nearly 3 weeks and as I mentioned, I've been buying HP products for 10 years.
HP lowers the price by $50 on the front end for a "Sale", but then removes the free RAM upgrade.  So, the laptop with the exact same specs are now $25 more than before the sale.
Most people probably wouldn't notice the small change from a free upgrade to an upgrade that now costs $75, but I did. That isn't a sale.  That is very deceptive marketing, specifically since HP is promoting this product as part of its Labor Day Sale.

  • Xtreme Audio Notebook - Toshiba Laptop

&Xtreme Audio Notebook - Toshiba Laptop? Here is my request for help :-)
I am running Vista Home sp2
I am using this CL sound card for some minor audio for band functions (where my midi keyboard doesnt cut it).
In Sonar - the software will NOT see this device as an ASIO device. If I run Asio4all, it will but thats very limited.
This whole process started by me trying to get less latency out of the laptop for a midi function and within Sonar - its only recognizing the device as an MME device. While that is "ok" its far from optimal, and if I put any kind of a load on it the latency grows to the absurd side.
My first question - am I mistaken or is this device supposed to suport ASIO mode?
Next - if it is - how can I find out why its not working as expected? I am not looking for folks to do the work for me, just hoping someone may have seen this in the past and had any suggestions
I have used the latest drivers I could find from the CL support site to replace the default windows vista drivers, and I have tweaked all the settings I can find, but still having some large latency issues and using MME is certainly not helping.
Any thoughts or pointss are certainly appreciated!

Please disregard and close/archi've this thread.
I missed the part about the Xtreme Audio Notebook NOT having asio drivers.
I purchased a new X-Fi surround and while I am having some smaller issues, I am certainly seeing a marked improvement.

  • Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with SpeedBooster

Anyone get the Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with SpeedBooster WPC54GS to work with their Mac?
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iLife 6

Yes. I have Linksys WPC54GS version 1.1 (with the Broadcom chipset) running OS 10.3.9. I believe version 2.0 also uses the Broadcom chipset, but I do not know if that is the same for version 2.1.
BTW: I originally used a Linksys wireless router but a year ago changed to the Belkin Pre-N Router F5D8230-4.

  • Re: Imagem om my Toshiba with problems

    Hi everyone,
When i boot my laptop, the image on screen appears with problems, can't read the letters and some traces in vertical. When windows start, shows a blue screen with a memory error but i can read it because it disapears very fast.
I thing (im not sure) that can be some problem with graphic card. I have removed the ram cards and swithed, but the problems stays.
    Any ideas ???

Which image exactly? Does this image problem occur immediately when you press power button and when the Toshiba welcome screen?
On this virtual ay it is not possible to say what the problem is but I presume there must be some hardware problem, probably is graphic card defective. For more info you must contact Toshiba service.
BTW: which Toshiba notebook model do you have exactly? Is warranty still valid?

  • Notebook Toshiba Satellite P10 problem!!!!

    Hi!
I have a TOSHIBA notebook Satellite P10, Windows XP.
It is a new computer, not second hand!
The problem is that it shuts down itself when I connect it to the AC adapter.
The only way I can work is charging it while it is off and then using it while on battery.
The problem appeared after 20 days I bought it.
I sent it to the TOSHIBA service, they updated the BIOS, it worked perfectly for 5 hours (connected to the AC adapter) and then the same problem appeared.
    Do you have any suggestions?
I am looking forward to your replies!
    Christina

    Dear Christina
In my opinion you should not try anything. The unit is a new one and there is valid warranty. I dont know in which country you live but inside of 14 days you can exchange your unit with a new one. Please contact your local dealer. Maybe is it possible to exchange the unit. If not, stay in contact with the service partner. Every hardware malfunction can be repaired and they should check it properly. You have paid a new product and it must work properly.
    Good luck!

  • I was on a trip and downloaded some tunes on my notebook.  i then wanted to sync them to my Imac at home, but can nnot find a cable hook up ..nor can i seem to do it through the wireless network...how can I sync from the notebook itunes with the imac at h

I was on a trip and I downloaded some tunes on my notebook.
At home now, and I am trying to sync the notebook itunes new songs to my Imac, so I do not have to open both computers in the 'shared library' section every time I want to hear a song that I bought last week on the notebook.  I simply want to dump my new tunes on my imac and play them from there.  Is there a cable I am missing, how do I connect both computers?
I can not imagine a world where I can buy the music on the notebook, but I can not transfer it on my Imac???!!!
    Suggestions please!
    Thanks everyone,
    Adie Elliott

There are several ways. iCloud is partially live, at least in the US, so if you are in the US and have the latest version of iTunes on your home computer, start up iTunes, click on the Store button in the list on the left side of the screen, and on the right side of the iTunes store screen look for Purchased (there will be an orange New! tag next to it). You can (re)download any songs you've bought from your account on any authorized device you own. IOW, buy with your iPad, download later with your iMac if you don't feel like syncing with your iPad.
If you have a wireless network at home you can using filesharing to connect the two computers and copy the songs from the notebook to the desktop. My wife has a corporate DropBox account and she just copies her new songs into the DropBox and grabs them when she's at home. I have a history of forgetting that I've downloaded songs on my notebook or at work so I always immediately copy them to my flash drive. So there you go - lots of ways to do what you want.

  • ACER S7 191 11.6 NOTEBOOK UPDATE WITH BETTER BATTERY 8GB RAM 512GB SSD QHD DISPLAY TOUCH SCREEN.

I have owned an Acer aspire S7 191 "11.6" for few weeks and it is a wonderful invention by Acer engineers. i am really puzzled as to why you have discontinued this model.I think it needs few adjustments and you need to release it with these refinements. if you look at dell XPS 13 with infinity display and QHD resolution you can see that they have achieved simillar form factor but with much better specs.Acer S7 191 needs the following improvements.latest CPU i7 with turbo boostat least 512gb SSD if not 1TB ssd model rate zerothinner bezels with more screen size possibly 13" with WQHD displayled indicator for caps on button.most importantly much larger battery capacity 9hrs-12hrsbetter key travel for key board.love the bluish/green light on the keyboard but it needs to be brighter.the bezels of the edges needs to be champered to give it a smoother better feel instead of sharp corners.keep the branding on as it is with aluminum bodyimproving the touch pad slightly for better responsiveness to gestures.if you guys can acieve this you will have a killer notebook on your hands. i know you guys are not scared of trying new ideas but you have developed a brilliant notebook. the only notebook that can compete with apple 11.6 macbookair. lenovo have tried it with their spectre 360 but failed, it just doesnt have that specialness about it. where as the Acer S7 191 is a wonderful notebook and deserves to be refresshed with much better specs.everyone who sees my notebook wants to buy one. the only let downs are that its not up to date with current CPU and memeory and most importantly battery life.so please acer listen to your customers and get a refresh out for the 11.6 inch Acer S7 please.kind regardsAsifLondon, UK

Thanks for writing, Osteo.  So you have the S7-191 notebook, which is our very first iteration of the S7 series.  We have released several newer models of S7 since then that are better, faster, etc.  Check out our website and see how close we came to what you want.    Thanks!

  • Problem starting CATS Notebook application with SAP MI

    Hi All,
I synchronized my Mobile Infrastructure on my notebook with the backend server. I am able to download the correct application (CATS_notebook) but I'm not able to start this application. It redirects to localhost:4444.... and I receive a 404 (file not found).
    Any ideas?

About the only thing I can think of offhand is that the application name as specified in the code may not be the same as the application name thats been uploaded to the webconsole.
Also stop and restart your MI Client engine on your laptop and then log in again and try to open the app.  I'm not familiar with that application so I can't be of any help with that.
    I hope that helps.

On my Notebook dv8285ea (bought in 2006), that came with Windows XP, I have mounted a new SSD drive and installed Windows 7 Prof (32 bit).  -  It works fine except for one problem: There is no sound from the speakers. I get error messages such as "No Audio Output Device installed". That is: The Sound part of the motherboard is not compatible with the Windows 7 sound driver.
Can anyone point to a solution?  -  The dv8285 is not among the notebooks that HP has provided Win7 drivers for.
