Notebook with sim-slot

Dear every1!
Is there any way in java se to get some kind of cellular/networking information with the built in sim-card or with the pluggable sim-card (pendrive-like simcard)?
I know how this works with java me, so... if javase does not support it, there could be a way to use javame api on pc?

Internal 3G modem with SIM slot for Satellite A500-12W?

I join this forumn in great frustration because I have spent hours online searching for an answer.
I run a Satellite A500-12W with a USB 3G modem but I don't like having that fragile thingy sticking out of the computer and occupying one of only 3 USB ports. Under the battery there is a slot that says SIM but it seems to be empty as it cannot hold a sim card in place.
I do not have an internal 3g modem, I have WLAN capabilities.
Surely it must be possible to buy a card that goes internally and works in the same way as a USB modem?
There is an empty slot next to the memory slots that says 3G/TV and something else, is that the place and in that case, which product should I buy?
I am eternally grateful for any help, this frustrates me greatly. Thanks in advance.

I agree with the user above. I think the notebook case is also used for other models they are support such a 3G module and SIM card and therefore you can see a SIM card place.
But if such an upgrade would be possible it can be done from an authorized service provider so I would recommend contacting the guys.
You must contact them in every case because they can sell all original Toshiba spare parts and if such an upgrade is possible you need the parts for that.

How to connect to internet with sim 2 in XL

XL doesn't give option to connect internet with sim 2. When I turn on mobile data it always connect with sim 1. All time I have to go to settings to connect with sim 2 after connected with sim 1. Is there any way to choose sim when I'm turning on mobile data?

By default, your phone asks you which SIM to use for the connection. You can also set the default SIM for calls, messaging, and mobile data connections.

Select which SIM to use for mobile data connections
Tap Settings icon > Mobile data and networks, and select which SIM to use for mobile data connections.
Availability of SIMs
You can use 2G or 3G SIMs in both SIM1 and SIM2 slots, but the SIM2 slot supports 2G network only.
When you set one SIM to be used for outgoing calls or messages, or for data connections, the other SIM can still receive calls or messages.
When one SIM is having an active connection, the other SIM is not available.

My Thinkpad T450s has a SIM Slot

Hello,I bought a Thinkpad T450s just 3 days ago and found out it has a SIM Slot, but when i insert a SIM card inside the slot, it doesn't recognize my SIM card thus making me unable to connect to the internet via it and i need help on how i can connect to the internet through that means. I don't see the setting where i should connect to the WAN on my laptop. I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit and i need help. Hope i get some answers and every answer will be appreciated thanks.

While some ThinkPads come with full WWAN support, many are shipped "WWAN upgradable" with a SIM slot and antennas, etc. but without the hardware card needed to connect to a WWAN. This allows the customer to add a WWAN card in the future. Are you sure your ThinkPad is the former?

There is no magic that will fix broken hardware.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and get the phone replaced.
US$199 if you didn't purchase Apple Care with the phone and they determine it's user inflicted damage not covered by warranty.

C7 sim slot damaged

I inserted a microsim in the c7 sim slot and when trying to remove it i damaged the sim tray i guess. Is there any solution for this problem or is the phone completely gone now? because i took it to some phone repairers, they said that the sim slot is damaged so they cant do anything.

hi mate, did the same with my N8 a few years back. in this case, there is nothing you can do except take your phone to your nearest Nokia Care location for inspection of the device. they will be able to advise you on any repair costs and the like.

T500 - SIM slot faulty ?

I use my T500 with a WWAN card inside.
Now I have a problem when the SIM card search the 3G/HSDPA net.
The WWAN module works, I see that the software finds the WWAN card.
I've changed the SIM with a NEW one, but no news.
I think is a SIM SLOT problem.

the sim card slot is for the WWAN card, which you don't have according to the published spec of your system.

I have a Samsung Tab S tablet 4G/Lte version that takes a sim card. There are also iPads that have SIM slots for mobile broadband.
Do these new plans (20Gb Data allowance) work in tablets or are they phones only?

Lets make it clear.
The thing is i know that in the US Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G Verizon goes without any slot for micro-sim. So i won`t be able to use 3g abroad.
In Canada store they don`t give no required carrier.Does it mean that Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G from there has a micro-sim slot and is ok for using 3g worldwide with local carrier?

Micro sim slot (for ipad2)

I've just bought an ipad2 : WIFI 3G (from a Verizon store in the US) to use in another country but at my surprise there was no slot to insert the micro SIM ! Can anyone help me with this ?

Only posting because I think some clarification is needed. What they are both getting at is three models were made for the iPad2.
Wifi only:
Has an all metal back and can only get access from wifi hotspots.
AT&T:
This model has a little black plastic strip on the back at the top for better antenna signal strength. It also has a sim card because it uses a technology that requires sims. This slot is located on the side towards the top.
Verizon:
This model also has the black plastic bit but it lacks the sim slot because Verizons technology doesn't need sims.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon model are locked to their respective carriers, so to answer your question, yes you have to use verizon for any 3G access, (you can add a contractless plan from the iPad itself in the settings). This also means that even if you had an AT&T iPad you would have to use an AT&T sim. There are ways around this with the AT&T model, though they usually involve messing with the firmware by jailbreaking.

Check the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf. page 12. If you are asking if a tool is included with the phone, it depends on where it was purchased and if it was an Apple unlocked phone. You can use a paper clip and accomplish the same thing.
