Notes and Location field disappear in iCal when I add invitee

What's up with this?
Also, once I add an invitee and hit Return, I can't delete the person. I'm getting a question mark icon next to everybody, which is silly because AddressBook was used to make the suggestions I typed in.
Running Snow Leopard 10.6.7, new user. I have a "me" card in ICal.
Anybody know what's going on?

Check Settings> Mail, Contacts & Calndars> Calendars> Sync. You probably have it set to a vey short period of time.

Notes and other fields don't show up in Contacts on my iPod Classic 160GB

I don't know if this is just a bug or if I missed a new option somewhere to hide/show Notes and other fields in Contacts, but they don't show up at all. This problem is specific to the new 160GB iPod I bought today. Notes show up fine on my 4GB Nano (2G) and old 3G iPod.
I would at least like confirmation from some other people that the Notes field is not showing up in your contacts.
I just ran through a few other contacts and it appears this is a more serious sync problem. There is a field listed in my Address Book as "work" that is showing up as "home" on the 160. The field is identified correctly on my nano. I also noticed that the field for the iChat id is completely missing from all the iPods.
This is a pretty serious bug for anyone that uses their iPods for Contacts. Since someone is bound to ask, yes I did try resetting the iPod. I even went as far as completely restoring it from both Windows and the Mac, but always saw the same problem, so I went back to my default Mac setup.

I did another restore and let iTunes move my whole library over before going back to the summary and syncing contacts, but I got the same result. No notes on any contacts and various contact fields that are named incorrectly compared to the Address Book originals.
I would appreciate confirmation of this bug or people with 80/160 classics identifying that notes due show up in their contacts so that I can post an accurate description to the bug report form.

I have tried deleting and creating a bookmark and also refreshing the webpage or clicking on the bookmark. I don't know what else to do. I use Firefox 4.0.1

I'm getting favicons for most of my bookmarks, so there might be some issue with the coding or the image format.
Do you use a tag like this in your page?

Palm not receiving "location" field from iCal

Hello,
I recently bought a Palm Tungsten E2 and have it connected through HotSync Manager and the iSync conduits (I think) to sync my Address Book and iCal data. Everything is pretty much fine except that I realized today the "Location" field that I have filled out in iCal is not being retrieved/sent to my Palm. When I go to an appointment on my Palm and hit "details" there is nothing listed for "location." Thanks for any help solving this issue!

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This has always been, and continues to be, a shortcoming of the iSync Palm Conduit. You can place location information in the Notes field below it, and that information will appear on your handheld organizer as a note appended to the event.
Or, you can instead opt for the Missing Sync for Palm OS, which does map this information according the schema shown here.

Appointments and events keep disappearing from iCal

I put appointments and events on iCal and they keep disappearing. The ones that were added up until a few weeks ago are still there, just not the newly added ones. They will be there for maybe a few hours or a day and then vanish. I'm not techie at all. Please bear with me. I have an old MacBook, that runs Mac OS X, 10.6.8 and desperately need help!

Try a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

Not getting contacts from address phone when using Add Invitees in iCal

Until recently, i notice when i type in 'Add invitees' for any event, it does not retrieve contacts from my address book.
I am running 10.6.4 and ical version 4.0.1 (1374).
any help would be appreciated.

...i ran software updates and i do not see an entry to update ical to 4.0.3. so do i get the latest version?
If you ran software update your system version should be Mac OS X (10.6.5), and iCal should be Version 4.0.4.
Try downloading and installing the Mac OS X v10.6.5 Update (Combo).

Why do my songs and audio books keep getting erased when I add a new book? Now some books will not play and the iPod does not keep track of where I was when I pause a book, leave for music and then go back!

About a month ago I added some new audio books to my iPod Classic and then after disconnecting, I discovered EVERYTHING had been erased.
I had to restore through my iTunes but then I could not load my music back on.
I uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes and completely reformated the iPod drive.
I successfully got my music and books back on but then added a new book two days ago only to discover everything got erased AGAIN!!!
Of course, my 1 Year Warranty was up about a week before the first incident.....
I formatted the iPod again, uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes (it was freezing during sync) and downloaded all my music and books again.
Now I have several books that will not play (they play on iTunes and they played on the iPod before all these events) and the iPod does not keep track of where I was in a book when I have to stop and go to something else.
Does anyone know what is going on with this thing??? I have a 5th Gen Video and in all the years I've had it, I've NEVER had problems like this!
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get my iPod Classic up and running properly again?

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

Notes and tasks have disappeared

i had preoblems with my curve 8520 last night resulting me to reinstall the OS. I luckily used blackberry protect to back everything up. However all of the games have disapeared that came with the phone originaly and the notes and task apps have disappeared. I am not too worried about the games but I had a large amount of notes and tasks that I need to get back is there anyone who can help???

Look for you notes app as Memos on the device.

For your camera, go to Settings>General>Restrictions and be sure that Camera is set to On. Don't know why you can't find FB, be sure you checked all your screens and inside all your folders.

Existing letters disappear in pdf when I add text box

So I get letters in existing text disappearing as soon as I type anything in a new text box. I have acrobat XI pro running on windows 8.1.
My pdf document looks fine. All the text is there that's suppose to be there. I need to add text boxes on certain pages so I click on 'add text', I click on any area in my document and the text box appears. As soon as I type anything at all 'random' letters disappear throughout my document. I say random because it's an l here, an e there, etc but it's the same letters from the same words that disappear every time. A month ago I was working on the same document doing the exact same thing and had no trouble adding text without having letters disappearing.
I've been playing around with it for several hours now and am ready to punch a hole through the wall.
Any ideas?

Thanks for 'all' the help (I kid, of course) but I figured it out on my own.
Tried many, many things and what worked in the end was increasing the dpi of the pdf when it was first created. I had it set to 300dpi which was the same default setting for all the other documents I created and manipulated with no problem but for whatever reason it doesn't work now. I tried it at 600dpi and it's fine. All the letters stay put when I add new text boxes. Probably other dpi settings would work also but I haven't tried.

TS3999 When I add events to my calendar on my mac, they do not show up on my iPhone, however; when I add events on my iPhone, they do show up on my mac... why do they not go both ways?

Flash crashes all the time, firefox crashes too and then will not work period, or my computer will say it is open when it is not, and I cannot open it. When I get on firefox it will not load anything! Explorer still works but not firefox!

Certainly disable FlashPlayer in your plugins by using
* Firefox Button -> Add-ons -> | Plug-ins
You need to get Firefox working again before you are going to be able to do anything with Firefox.
See if you can get Firefox to open in [[safe mode]] noting that when you get a window with a list of options just click on continue.

Sorry but at present there are many possible causes of your problem and you will need to try Firefox's SafeMode &/or some of the suggestions in those linked articles in order to narrow it down a bit.

Updated to Access Connections 5.02 and location profiles disappeared

After updating Access Connections from 4.52 to 5.02 all the wireless location profiles are gone, including WEP keys, etc. The old version of AC worked fine on my X61S.
1) How can one upgrade to AC 5 without losing these?
2) I have complete system backups. In what file or registry entry can I find the saved location profiles from 4.52?

Same thing happened to me. Most frustrating...
I was able to find a listing of the now-missing profiles in "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\Access Connections\Locations". Using regedit, I removed the following DWORD key, "m_bHideInList", from each entry and all of my location profiles now appear in Access Connections again as they were before. Looks like there also are a variety of other (rather straightforward) configuration parameters in the registry key(s) listed above, so hopefully something in there is the magic bullet.
Anyway, hope this helps.

I am not able to bookmark any pages. When I add bookmark nothing happens. I tried safe mode and it still does not work, I also reset toolbars and still no go. Can you help?

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
