Notes app error in Mountain Lion

Just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, and the notes app won't work.  After starting, a few seconds later there is an error, the app closes and and error message pops up. Any ideas?

  • IMessages delivered despite not delivered error on Mountain Lion?

Since I upgraded my MBP to mountain lion this past week and set it up to receive my imessages on the desktop, all iPhone 4s imessages are showing an error. Once I send an imessage on my phone, it says delivered and then quickly changes to "Not Delivered". The texts ARE actually being received despite the error, but the push notification is showing a red ! warning constantly.
To resolve the issue on my iPhone, I had to disable iMessages for my apple ID on my MBP. This is a main feature of this new OS and I want to be able to use it. Has anyone figured out how to receive/send imessages on both your desktop and iphone without this error? Are other mountain lion os users experiencing this?

likely either a DNS error either when you setup opendirectory or a DNS issue with your current setup.
the servers hostname and IP need to resolve (forward/reverse) properly from the clients and on the server itself.
also could be related to changing your IP or hostname on the erver.

  • Notes Sync Error with Mountain Lion

Hi, I am having trouble syncing the blackberry memopad entries with the notes application on Mountain Lion. I believe this was a reported issue previously according to this:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do;jsessionid=A8635A3DFAACBD7F295D47ABAC4C1B0A?...
Has a resolution been found? Its quite annoying not have important notes synced to your machine...
    Thanks & Regards

Can't wait for a response to this post, I have exactly the same problem.

My app store on my macbook pro no longer shows that i purchased mountain lion. So when I am trying to do a reinstall it is not letting me put mountain lion, without re-purchasing it

Pardon the question, but you are checking the mac app store > Purchases (not iTunes or iTunes store or the app store for iDevices)? Have you tried holding the Option key while clicking on Purchases (shows hidden purchases).

home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update. Does anyone else have the same issue. Updated all computers in my home, deauthorized and reauthorized each computer. turn off home sharing and turned it back on. don't know what else to do..please help...

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.

I am currently on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and my macbook Air 1.1 will not go up to Mountain Lion. The Lion software update 10.7 is no longer available from the store or downloads.
    Where do I get this?
It was only released a couple of months ago.
I really feel disinfranchised already by not being able to upgrade and keep up with other software needs but to not allow me to update to my full capacity is really ridiculous.

Сan not download  OS X Mountain Lion, v10.8 (4 ) very slow internet

Unfortunately, on a slow internet connection with Mountain Lion being a 4.34GB file, the download is most likely going to time out before it can finish.
A suggestion. Try pausing the download then resuming at intervals > Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads

What's installed on your computer? If you don't have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later then you cannot get Lion. If you already have Lion installed then you cannot re-download from the App Store until you have reinstalled Snow Leopard.

Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

  • Just installing a few updates from the Mac App Store for mountain lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro, during this it made a noise and then the screen and keyboard went off, like it is off. What happened, is it off...or should I just wait it out?

    What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.

    Hi There,
What happens when you try to access it?   You've not given a lot of information for people to help you.

  • Notes stopped syncing in Mountain Lion

I've just realized that my notes haven't synced from my iPhone to my Mac for several months.  I've been reading all the discussions about this not quite working in Mountain Lion and am wondering if there is any remedy.
I had several notes where I kept ongoing updates.  For example, I was opening the same note and adding to it about my cat's health.  But the additions from the last several comments I wrote are missing on both the iPhone and the Mac.
All the notes are still on my Mac in the new Notes app under ON MY MAC, but there haven't been any updates there since 2012!
My IMAP account with Google is set to Mail and Notes ON, but there is only one recent note online with Google.  I remember making that particular note on the iPhone first, so that one is working correctly.  I think that setting is a historical default since Notes used to be in the Mail App.  I tried looking for the other notes and note updates all over my gmail account- in All Mail and Trash- and don't see any of the notes that are ON MY MAC, old or otherwise.
I really can't figure out what happened.  I tried opening Time Machine, but I wouldn't know where to look.  I have backups 2 years back, but that wouldn't help with the more recent notes anyway.  I don't really understand why the most recent updates aren't still on the iPhone.  I think maybe the Default Account under notes was set to my gmail account (the default?  I didn't set this?  How did that happen?) and it should have been On My iPhone?
Very confused and disgusted- would like to find the Notes if possible so I could copy them somewhere else and never use Apple Notes again

Notes in the On My Mac or On My iPhone section are not synced.
To restore notes that have been deleted from the computer, do as follows.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Restore the selected item from a backup that predates the unwanted changes.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
