Notes app hangs and quits when I unpin a sticky note

Hi,
I had pinned 2 notes on the desktop. I deleted one of those from the main notes window. Later when I tried unpinning that note from the desktop the application hung and then closed. Now neither of the 2 notes can be unpinned, even though these can be floated around the desktop, minimized or maximized.
I was storing these on icloud.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Just did this and it works even though the solution was for a different question.
Try deleting ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
For those who have the same problem above don't know how to delete a library file, this may be useful: You need to first reveal the Library file, which is done via Terminal. At Terminal write in chflags nohidden ~/Library/
When you go to your user-level file in Finder, you will find the Containers folder, and from there the com dot apple do Notes folder. Simply delete the entire folder, close your Notes and reopen them. You will see that you no longer have duplicate notes since you deleted the on-board copies being saved on your computer and not in the cloud. This solution works perfectly.

I want app B to run when I open app A and I want app B to quit when I quit app A

I have an idle script that handles iTunes. I want the script to run when I run iTunes and quit when I quit iTunes.
At the moment my workaround are two separate scripts, "zactivate" & "zquit"

I use spotlight to launch these but I would like to open and quit iTunes "normally" and have the same effect as the above scripts.
Please help me. I am a novice.

Normally AppleScript will not run automatically when you open or quit any given app - they're completely unrelated events.
However, if you already have an idle script, then you can amend your script to periodically poll to see if app1 is running and then launch/quit app2 based on the results. Something like:

The basic idea here is to periodically check to see if iTunes is running. Based on that, either launch or quit albumArt to keep them in sync.
Lowering the return value from the above 30 seconds will have the check performed more frequently. You can run it as often as you like based on how long you're prepared to tolerate the apps being in a different run state.

I have just had a system update a safari 5.1.7 a security update 2012-200 and a app update and now when i go into a site with flash it says i do not have adobe flash. I have installed it but still no luck? any help would be much appreciated Cheers Dave

On my iPad Air Safari crashes and quits when I view a slideshow.

On my iPad Air , Safari crashes and quits when I view a slideshow on an internet site. Sometimes it doesn't crash but the slideshow is freezes. Any idea why?

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

First of all, you are still in Learn Mode, as the button on the bottom right is still darkened. Click it so it becomes lighter, meaning learn mode is no longer active. Then proceed to delete all the assignments, in your screenshot I can see the top message is assigned to A#1 (look at the "input Message" values on the right). But the rest of the assignments do not look like you conciously made them, it's a bit of a mess. You should be aware that cmd-L opens the CA-window, and engages Learn Mode, meaning that whatever is the very first MIDI message you send will be "learnt" as a controller assignment, and it will no longer be availbale as regular MIDI. That's how notes can "disappear" if you're unaware of this function. To open the CA window without engaging Learn Mode, use cmd-K.

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

I choose to save and quit when I close Firefox, but recently my pages dissapear on new session for few times. Is the new version unstable?

You should update to Firefox 3.6.13. See Help > Check for Updates.
If you use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox then restoring tabs from the last session ("Save & Quit" or "Show my windows and tabs from last time") doesn't work.

Since i updated my ipad 2 in to ios 7 my ipad became lag and many of my apps hang and crash im not jailbroken please can somebody help?

Safari 7.1 hangs and crashes when any extension installed

after latest Safari upgrade (ver 7.1 seed 1), Safari hangs and crashes after I install any extensions. When I delete all extensions from extensions dir, the problem disappear.

Films hang and crash when downloading to iPad

Although I have plenty of free space on my iPad (3rd Generation) I am finding it impossible to download any more movies. After about 500Gb the screen hangs and then crashes. When I log back on the download starts afresh and crashes time and time again.
The last successful download was about three months ago.

i've got the same problem, i'm testing InDesign CS5.5, i upload everything. It's working fine with the desktop viewer.
But when i open the Adobe Content Viewer on the iPad, i can see that there is a new content with the good name.
But there is no thumb preview for this content, and when i click on it to download it, the APP say that the content it's empty or not valide.

Aperture 3 trial version hangs and quits

I downloaded a trial version of Aperture 3 to try it out since I liked the added features. I currently use iPhoto. Everything went fine until I did the iPhoto import.
Now, every time I start Aperture, it either hangs and becomes unresponsive, or quits before fully opening, or one time opened, said processing, and then quit.
Another oddity is that my last import in iPhoto now contains a bunch of Aperture graphics and icons. Since I don't have a full serial number, and am not upgrading, I don't know if the other fixes about the serialization would be effective in my case.
Would love to try Aperture, but so far, no go.

So I tried downloading 3.0.1 trial that was supposed to fix the unexpected quitting problem. Nope. Still quits. I keep thinking it has something to do with the iPhoto import. Until I did that - or tried to do that, Aperture seemed fine.

I can only get on american app store and itunes when i live in australia

I have an iphone 3g on the optus network in australia. Everything was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when i restarted it by holding down the sleep button and the home button for 10 seconds. When it restarted it came up with iphone is activeated just like i had turned it on for the first time. when i went into the app store and realised it was the american one instead of the australian one. itunes was the same. I cant restore my phone as my computer is currently being repaired. Has anyone had this problem and doen anyone know how to fix it? thanks.

You could always sign-in to your account on another computer, but the sync requirement would cause you problems.

Make sure that you haven't restricted it in the settings - Settings>General>Restrictions>On. If you have it set to on you may have disabled app downloads and that removes the icon from the screen.
Swipe for screen to screen to look for it - it may be hidden in a folder.
You can restore it the home screen quite easily, but this method will restore your home screen to the way it looked "out of the box" and your current home screen structure will be removed.
Anyway the way you can do this is - Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
