Notes app on IP4--what sync with?
Hi all.
I really love IP4 so far.
I alos love how i can put events into my outlook or yahoo calendar, and it will sync to my IP4 Calendar...and vica versa.
Is there something similar for notes??
Writes notes somewhere on my pc, and then it synce to my IP4 Notes?
Any mail server that supports IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) will work. When you enable a NOTES sync with such an account it creates a mail folder on the server called "NOTES". After that anytime you create a note, it is emailed to that NOTES folder and syncs with any other device that supports NOTES (Like the mail app on MAC and soon iPad once it is updated with 4.2). When a NOTE is changed it replaces the one on mail server with the updated note.

An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. The iPod sees the rebuilt computer as a new iTunes library. To make this computer the syncing computer
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music. -
hi, I finally got lucky and past the "other" memory status issues when syncing. Now I'm "waiting for changes to be applied" sync stuck all night (itunes yesomite iPhone 6 plus). is this a bug? I have not had a single successful sync with yesomite.
please help. this issue prevents music from syncing. I have set the sync setting to convert songs to 192kbps AAC to save space, I figure that could slow the sync
down, but it's hanging indefinitely (I've left it for 24 hours with out it completing.)
the the only music that appears on the phone are songs purchased from the iTunes Store. 95% of my collection are rips from my CDs.
thank you for any help!Yeah it's pretty sad that $1000 phone they put out you such cheap memory It causes issues, I have iPhone 6+128 GB actually this is the second brand-new one they gave me because they keep affording it trying to act like that's not the issue because they're too stupid to know how to check what memory is in each one before they give it to me when I have told them multiple times my back up runs perfectly fine on two 5s phones and a 6 64GB of course running MLC memory.
I told them it's because just like the write ups say I have 809 apps but I have not even put all my music on the phone so I'm still running 50 to 60 gigs free and it crashes and reboots itself sometimes in multitasking and more often than it does that in between multitasking I get a black screen for 1 to 2 seconds in between apps and upon start up the Apple logo screen will flicker and do weird things, One of the genius idiots asked me if I could just delete some of my apps, really that's the answer to fix the phone the customer needs to limit the amount to apps they put on their phone, why the **** get a 128 gig if you can't put on anything you want to it guess they need to start selling them saying you can only put a limited number of apps on them, it's really is a **** joke, I have over $20,000 of Apple merchandise easily and always get the new phone every year but I'm starting to reconsider my decisions in the future because this company is starting to go downhill, The reason water not recalling the phones is because they're dealing with their top-of-the-line thousand dollar phones in this case and most people don't have over two or 300 apps so they're not having as many issues, so basically they have messed up phones they just don't know it in their hands and Apple is just too **** greedy to recall the phones, they'd rather sell customer spends that only work half ***.
Stuff like this will be the downfall of their company, all the people that stay with them because as long as you don't jailbreak their stuff it normally just works without issue will be soon jumping ship if stuff like this keeps up, because I can guarantee they got me thinking now.
not that I wanted to know or should I be expected to but I even offered for them to open up my brand-new phone and just replace the memory to MLC memory which is something I shouldn't have to do with a brand-new **** phone, they should just make one with the right memory and give me a new phone, actually just don't sell customers that buy the top-of-the-line phone from you trash ones in the first place that would be a great option.
what burns me up the most is when you talk to AppleCare and Genius Bar they try to act like the issue isn't there and they're unaware of it, they say that Apple hasn't come out with any information about it, yeah that's because they don't want to recall the trash.
Apple has became nothing better than your run-of-the-mill company, android is becoming just as good as they are sad to say this since I have been an Apple fan for so long but there is no excuse for BS like this they have been looking for options to fix my phone for a month now this is not the way you should treat loyal customers, I would've been better off keeping my 5S and in the future just switching to android.
it's pretty sad that the company has no idea how to check which memory is in their **** phone and even after I offered to let them just replace the memory in my new phone by opening up my brand-new phone to replace it they have no idea how to do that either, yeah Genius Bar sure, I think that should change the name to idiot bar and Apple don't care instead of Apple care. -
My iPod touch is not charging, nor is it syncing with my commputer and iTunes. It will charge on the wall charger, and in the car, but not on the computer. My wife's iPod Nano syncs on the computer. I went in and reset my iPod Touch back to factory settings and now it will not let me get in unless I sync to iTunes on my computer. Well, it still will not connect thru the USB cord. Does anyone know what I should do to get this corrected? I want my iPod back.
Have you seen and worked through the suggestions in this Apple support document?

I phone not saving itunes music after sync with imac
When I sync my Iphone 4 with itunes on my iMac, it does not save my playlists or all of my music. When it is connected with the usb cable it shows up on the iphone but as soon as I disconnect it is gone. For some reason it is showing up on my ipad2 but I cannot shuffle any of the songs on the ipad I have to hit them one by one to play them or they just keep repeating themselves over and over.I do have them set up to wirelessly sync, but when I noticed my music was not there I tried to sync with the usb cable.When I plug in the iphone to the imac, I get a message that says no camera found same thing with the iPad2. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

With iOS 7.0.4 Notes on iPhone don't sync with Notes on iPad
I upgraded both iPhone 4 and iPad 2 to iOS 7.0.4.
With iOS7 my Notes on iPhone don't sync with my Notes on iPad.
In both devices I have set iCloud ON for Notes.
In the Notes App I selected the iCloud Account.
But when I write a new Note on iPhone 4 it doesn't appear on iPad 2 and viceversa.
How can I fix this bug?

You can't go to icloud.com using Safari on your iPad, you have to go there using your computer. If you didn't do so, try going to icloud.com and check your notes using your computer browser. -

if a Mac OSX Computer is in near - try iBackup Viewer.
This is free of charge and can read your backup.
and thats the main difference. Those tools are reading the saved Data in the backup
but itunes attempts to restore the data from the backup on your iphone. if there are any corrupted data in the backup - the backup restore goes wrong. this can happen during security software or wrong corrupt data already stored on the iphone.
if itunes messed up to restore from backup try this one :
- restore your iphone to factory settings using HT1808 or reset all settings and content direct from iphone
- rename your iPhone (e.g. iPhone Test)
- setup your iPhone as new device -> attempt to make a new backup - if successful -
- click in itunes on restore from backup... and choose your desired backup
or go to:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(Username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista - Windows 7: \Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Pull your complete BackupFolder and try a different PC - copy the BackupFolder on this different PC in the same Path above - start iTunes and see if your Backup is there - attempt to restore from Backup again -
How do I save photos that have been synced to my Ipad2, so that they do not get deleted when I sync with a different photo foder on my computer (Pc win7).
Place that first folder of photos that you synced to the iPad within the main folder of photos that you sync from and select them to sync again. You can place any number of subfolders within the main folder that you sync from and select those folders to sync. Just "tick"(select) the folders in the photos tab in iTunes.

Short version: iTunes will transfer the purchases made from the iTunes Store on your iPhoneh to your computer. It treats all other music and video syncing as a one-way street, to comply with copyright laws (wont sync stuff not purchased through iTunes from your iPhone to your computer). -
I deleted songs in my iphone on the music app but when I sync with the computer the songs disappear. How can I delete songs on my phone but keep them in iTunes?
I use iTunes Match so I can't confirm this on my computer (my Music tab looks different), but as I recall, on the Music tab you have the option to check to sync selected playlists, artists and genres, and then check which playlists you want to sync below that. Then, like songs, you would uncheck the playlists you don't want on your phone and sync to remove them.

IPhone5 Notes removed from phone after syncing with iTunes
This morning my wife came to me with her iPhone5 complaining that her notes in the Note app have disappeared. After investigating on her laptop we found them in her Yahoo folders but they weren't on her phone. Strange. I had all my notes on my iPhone5. So we went to work and I researched the issue. Found out that there are a lot of people out there with this same issue. This evening I backed up my iPhone5 wirelessly to my computer. I restored my wife's phone to her last back up that she said had her notes. No good - not there. So I reset her phone back to factory setting and restored from her backup. In the mean time, I plugged my phone in to my computer to check on some setting. Lo and behold, my notes have disappeared too! Of course they are all in Yahoo, but what's strange is that not all of my Yahoo notes disappeared. So it has something to do with syncing with iTunes with the wire, not wirelessly. I just restored my phone to today's backup and I suspect that since I'm tethered to my computer, the restore put them back and iTunes removed them. Since I cannot see the Notes folder in the email app - what good is it to sync them to Yahoo? Ridiculous. So the key is to NOT tether your phone to iTunes and sync wirelessly. Now I am going to have to go through the process of emailing all my notes back to myself and copy them into Notes.
Any one have a better cost-effective solution?Follow up to my earlier post. It appears that the notes that "disappeared" from my iPhone fit in a certain date range. Seems to be June and July. A note I created in August didn't disappear. So I just emailed the notes from June and July to myself. I created new notes on my iPhone in the Notes app for my Yahoo account. Automagically they appeared in my Yahoo folder and didn't disappear from my iPhone when I synced again. Solution?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Right at the end of the Mail for Exchange setup, you are asked what you want to sync, there you can pick email, calendar and tasks. You can change this setting afterwards by navigating to Menu > Mail > Settings > Personal information mgr > Applications and selecting either Sync calendar events or Sync contacts and changing the synchronisation setting on.
Alternatively you can set up your email account again. First delete your mailbox by long pressing it in the mail main view and selecting Delete mailbox. After that start New mailbox wizard, give your email address and the password, leave the domain box empty. Right after this you will be asked to give the server address, which is m.google.com, and what information you would like to sync. Just pick email, calendar and contacts, and they should be synchronised automatically.

the notes actually sync with your mail account so it should be somewhere in the mail app
