Notes & Contacts disappeared from my iPhone

All my notes disappeared from my notes app & half of my contacts diasappeared, too! What happened to them, can I get them back? I've checked my email and apparently my notes stopped synching 10 days prior to all of this! Please Help, I have a ton of information gone missing! :(

you have notes in outlook and your trying to move them to the phone and you have the itunes preference set under devices/info to sync notes with outlook and hit applY? if all these settings are correct and your using 2003/2007 outlook try resetting sync history (edit/pref/devices in itunes) also try making sure itunes is up to date... try syncing a new note in a new user on computer to phone (see if its content error) and if still having problems on new user i'd uninstall and re-install itunes.

do you sync your contacts with an application in your computer? or use iCloud?
I can't tell you why the contacts disappear but you can get them back without much hassle by syncing through iTunes with your computer.
do you regularly make backups? if so, you can restore your iPhone using the backups and get your contacts back in your iPhone.
It is strange that half of your contacts are gone over and over again. Do you have Groups that are unchecked in your iPhone? If so, the contacts in those groups will not appear in your contacts list but they are in your iPhone and be recovered by re-checking the group name.

HT1689 All my contacts disappeared from my iPhone.

All my contacts disappeared from my iPhone.
The phone strarted "blinking" all of a sudden, and when it returned to normal all contacts were missing.
Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know if I can somehow restore the contacts? (No, I did not syncronize them with my PC or store them online..)

I would try a reboot and pray that it helped. But if you didn't back the phone up to itunes or icloud or if you don't already store your contacts in gmail, then they are probably gone forever.

My notes section disappeared from my iPhone! I deleted an email account but it was a duplicate of one I already had set up. Help! My baby girls milestone events were put there as I prepared to put them in her baby book! My iCloud hasn't backed up in a while because I ran out of space...

Try going into Notes, then tap Accounts at the top left, and then tap All Notes. You can also try going into all of your email account settings and make sure Notes are switched on for all (green side showing).

When setting iCloud my contacts disappeared from my iPhone

I sync my iphone 5 with outlook as well as my ipad mini.
I created an icloud account to be able to use the find my iphone app.
It asked me what to do with my contacts and I chose merge.
My contacts have disappeared from my iphone an there are no contacts in icloud.
My ipad mini has the data since I have not configured icloud in the ipad.
What do you suggest to get the contacts back to my iphone?
And what do I need to do to configure icloud on the ipad without deleting the contacts

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and when I slid the bar to off , I was asked what I wanted to do with the icloud synched contacts, leave on the iPad or delete or cancel. I selected leave on the iPad and then the synch symbol came on screen, it stayed that way for over 30 minutes, in that state. I then rebooted the iPad and it came back , I went to the screen and the setting for iCloud contact was back to on. The contacts were still not there. My mail was still not working. I turned mail off and on , I received some email but not all as I compared to my iPhone and I tried to send an email it still did not send. I went back to the settings iCloud and turned contacts off again, I answered leav on iPad again and this time left it like that for an hour and had the same results.

In order to set up Groups, I was advised to install CopyTrans (free version).
I have also set up and use ICoud.com through my PC to make Groups and arrange contacts.
But now I have NO contacts in my iPhone. When I close the Contacts App and reopen it, some appear. But when I touch 'Groups' they all disappear again.
How do I access all 700 contacts stored on iCould?
When I Synch with my PC (which uses Outlook) all those 500 contacts are added AGAIN and AGAIN forcing me to delete duplicates constantly.
And then when I turn on the iPhone and touch Groups - they disappear again.

Suggest you consider using an app to back up your contacts. This will allow you to easily restore them if this happens again. One I can recommend is My Contacts Backup Pro, although I'm sure there are others that work as well. The app will back up your contacts as a vCard attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself and save either the email or the attachment. If you ever need to restore your contacts you can just tap the attachment to import them back to your phone.
Then, as mentioned in the other post, try saving your photo stream photos to your camera roll, delete the iCloud account, provide your password and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in. Hopefully it won't happen again after that.

I had about 20 Notes mysteriously disappear from my iPhone 5.

I recently had most of my notes mysteriously disappear. The only notes that remain on my phone are over 3 years old. Trust me, I did not delete them. I have tried recovery software with no luck. A couple of the notes were business related and were my auto mileage records. Is there any way to recover the lost notes?

I tried to update my iphone, it seemed to work but to let my iphone completely empty: no more phone numbers, pictures, etc.. in it. I thought I could pick the info on my itunes in computer but apparently the update broke the itunes program as well: it says that some elemets are missing... does someone have an idea??? THANKS SOOO MUCH!

Contacts and calendar events aren't backed up? That's a complete load of hokey. They are backed up, and I ran into a similar problem and recovered them FROM the backup. Here's my post:

how can I restore my contacts to my iphone and ipad

Me to on my ip5. Then i noticed all accounts were gone in mail.
Luckily i had 90% backed up in yahoo so when i set up the account again i had most back. Still sure though info is missing.
In icloud i only found about 10 contacts who had been stored in icloud contacts

Why are my notes disappearing from my iphone

Some of my notes have disappeared from my iPhone 5S. I noticed a while back on my old 4S. I spent about 3 hours at the Apple store trying to fix this. But it was a waste of time. My notes are backed up to my iCloud and yahoo so I still have them. This apparently is a common problem because there are a lot of folks asking the same question. The same answer that I have seen is how to retrieve them. That isn't a solution. Why is this happening and what needs to be done to keep it from happening. This is a very useful app but it is no good when it continues to lose my notes. Same thing is happening with my wife's 5S too!

Yahoo is holding Notes as hostage. Check your Yahoo account settings.
