Notes deleted after Yosemite installation ?
Hello everyone
I have installed Yosemite on my Macbook Air yesterday.
After the installation, one week of Notes are missing from the Notes app.
I've just checked on my iPhone, it is the same, one week is missing. Same on iCloud.
My Notes were fine just before the installation on my Macbook Air.
Help me please!
Thanks
Thomas

Re: Mavericks Deleted My Notesin response to Tazamaraz
I was in the same boat, losing my mind because none of the suggestions were working or helpful until I stumbled onto this one. It refers to problems encountered while upgrading to Mountain Lion but the solution worked for recovering my notes..

Robin Darroch wrote:
I had this problem - all the notes I wanted were "On My Mac", which vanished as soon as I upgraded (and weren't in the new Notes app either). In the end, I had to find the files which Mountain Lion had failed to migrate to the new app, in the following location:
~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes/Notes.mbox/
There was one folder containing a whole bunch of numbered folders inside that. Going through each of the numbered folders right down to the "Messages" folder inside each, I found one or more files of the name format "nnnnn.emlx" (where "n" is a numeral). I copied all the .emlx files I found into a single (other) directory - as a backup in case something didn't work or I needed to do it again - then selected them all and dragged and dropped them onto the Notes app.
It's pretty poor form that the upgrade process doesn't reliably handle On My Mac notes, but at least it's not too difficult to recover.
Hope this works for others!

App Store is not responding after Yosemite installation
After installed Yosemite 3 days ago, I have been encountering many issues: 1) booting very slow (more than 10-15 minutes), even halt sometimes; 2) app store does not respond; 3) some apps like Spotify are cannot be opened. I have been always happy with Apple products until Yosemite. So disappointed!
What I don't get about this community is how come we have to rely on other users to guess how to fix major problem....SHOULDN'T BE Apple's duty to surf these users issues and give the RIGHT ANSWER ASAP!!!!!
Anyway I got the same problem...app store stuck!
Anybody? Any Apple technician around no?
Thanks

My daughter's 13" late 2011 MacBook Pro has frozen (null sign displays) after Yosemite installation. I can, however, boot from a clone of my MacBook Air that is on an external drive. I reinstalled Yosemite on the MBP HD, but it still hangs in mid install. Despite the fact that I can boot from the external, could it be the RAM that's the problem? I'd happily put 8 GB in if it seems probable that would solve the problem. I've tried all the suggested procedures that I've seen posted here. Disk Utility, and my older version of DiskWarrior indicate the HD is OK. I have DiskWarrior 5 on order.
Boot the MBP with the OPTION key down. If successful, you should see two HDD icons, Select the recovery partition (on the right).
From the 4 option menu select Disk Utility.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.

To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support to recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

Check the properties of casuser under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users and make sure it is not disabled or locked out. The only thing checked should be "Password never expires". Change anything required and reset casuser. -

Please reply us.To clarify, do you have the User Profile Service (including MySite Host) up and running on this environment? That's subtley different to the full MySite experience which is clearly not applicable...
Interesting question - thanks for that. Until now I didn't realise there was a difference.
The User Profile Service is up and running, but no MySite Host is set. (I don't believe MySite will be available anywhere here. I guess that means there's no valid MySite Host for me to use.)
Many thanks,

TPS file is not deleted after FrameMaker creates PDFs via Acrobat 8
Using FrameMaker 7.2 build 158, and Adobe Acrobat 8, when creating PDF files, the temporary PostScript file (*.tps), which is created before the final PDF, is not deleted after the creation of the PDF is complete.
This is a big deal for us because we are using a tool which hooks into the PDF-creation of FrameMaker/Distiller, and is reliant on this TPS file being deleted.
Is this a known bug? Does Adobe know about this? Do any other users have workarounds for this?Thomas,
FWIW, speaking from experience with the Save As route, I've seen
random "phunnies" in the final PDFs (such as the missing fonts
issues), a bigger .tps file than the .ps file generated from directly
printing to file, slower throughput in both the intermediate
postscript file creation and actual distilling (probably tied in to
the larger .tps file) and other differences from what the joboptions
should have been.
There should not have been any differences in the file sizes being
created if the same printer instance/configuration was actually being
used. I also see this on some automated runs with Miramo. It's not
consistent either - sometimes it works fine and then the next run, the
process is considerably slower and there are dropouts in the PDFs.
So far, manually printing to a ps file and distilling always seems to
work without any issues.
Your mileage may vary.

System preferences will not open after Yosemite 10.10.2 upgrade
system preferences will not open after Yosemite 10.10.2 upgrade. What should I do?
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

motion 4 will not work after yosemite upgrade
To be honest I do not use motion or any other compositing app so i do not miss it personally. However the new Motion is not that expensive, around $60 i think. Still, I understand your frustration.
I am afraid the more the OS is updated the less compatible certain applications will become.
Good Luck

Garageband not responding after Yosemite upgrade

Thank youHello,
Do you have some Sound amplifying App installed?
If so remove it & reboot. -
Since updating to latest iOS safari fails several times a day.
1. Just quits.
2. The items on the reading list will not delete after visited.
3. The screens goes grey when I go to email a reference.
Is the a solution other the restarting the iPad or is this something apple ought to fix?See if the following help.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

Windows 7 does not boot after bootcamp installation
Hey!
I installed windows 7 x64 on my MBP 15" retina with bootcamp, and the installation went fine but after the installation when it said " prepairing your desktop" it just restarted and went into boot loop, so I had to boot into mac OSX and make it primary boot. This have happend 3 times, and I've recreated the ISO image on the USB and I've deleted windows 7 and the partition and I have done the whole process over again (3 times) and it still does not work. Sometimes I get into windows 7 the first time and can move around the desktop with the mouse for about 5 seconds, then it says "logging out" and I'm back at the same problem.
What can I do?
Best regards,
Jack Hellberg.Hi Jack.........ok ive managed to create a link to that video on how to install bootcamp.....this is the tutorial i used and i managed to gain 100% completion on bootcamp 1st time no messing......like i said in my previous reply did you save the windows support files from apple....(Critical).....ok no point in messing about i suggest you start again from scratch........these are the things i used and YOU will need to complete bootcamp
mem stick or cd-r / dvd-r......original copy disc of win 7 ...i never used an iso i used original disc....allow a minimum of 30gb of space for your win 7 partition.....if you want bootcamp so you can use big programs like windows based games i.e.....Crysis/Call of duty etc etc ..then you will need to consider that you will need to allow a bigger partition to allow your HD to store the files.....this is the reason i installed bootcamp and so i made my partition i have a 750GB HD so i made a partition of 300gb for windows 7 and left the other 450gb for Mac....so you need to partition enough for what you want bootcamp for remember once you get bootcamp working you will need to install ALL Important Windows updates Including Win 7 SP1......once everything is installed you will have bootcamp up and running lovely.....u can then boot up with either win7 or mac......click this link and watch carefully and do exactly as shown ok and you should be fine...if you have any probs contact me again ok.....let me know how you get on ok..:)...http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=QFIWtXTl4d0&NR=1 -
