Notes from iPhone appear in Mail inboxes

This is a new behavior that I don't understand. Notes appear in the inboxes of both of my e-mail addresses, and in the reminders>notes box. If I delete them from anywhere, they disappear from my phone on the next sync. What changed, and how do I keep my notes on my phone and back them up on my computer without having them in my face all the time? Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
Under the Mailboxes Behaviors tab for the account preferences for each account, do you have show notes in Inbox selected?

  • Moving notes from iphone to iMac and cleaning up cloud problems

First off let me say I've had a very hard time finding any documentation of cloud services.  It's been very frustrating tying to figure out what's going on.
I decided I wanted all of my apple devices to be sync'ed for the main apps I use (notes, reminder, calander, and contacts).  During the startup process for using cloud services a number of questions were asked and I'm sure due to my lack of understanding of cloud services I made mistakes.  The end result is I ended up with many duplicate entries.  Trying to clean up the duplicates caused more problems.
    Here's where I am:
    on iPhone:
    good copy of notes
    good copy of contacts
    reminders look sync'ed with iPhone
calancer seems to look sync'ed with iMac
    on iMac:
a few notes on cloud but many gone when I tried to clean up duplicate notes on iPhone
good copy of contacts on cloud (I deleted all entries "on my Mac")
reminder seems to look sync'ed with iPhone
calancer seems to look sync'ed with iPhone
Here's what I'd like to have:
    on iPhone:
keep good copy of notes but have it on cloud
good copy of contacts from cloud (basically what iMac now has from cloud)
reminder on cloud and synced with iMac
calancer on cloud (may already be)
    on iMac:
good copy of notes from iPhone that are on cloud (currently not so)
keep current icloud copy (still shows "on my Mac" although I deleted all entries)
reminder on cloud and synced with iPhone
calancer on cloud (may already be)
On both the iPhone and iMac I have cloud services on for all the main apps except mail.  I don't know what cloud services will mean for mail as I'm not using the apple supplied email account(again no doc to tell me what happens).
What I don't want to happen is to lose my notes or contacts.  I'd be very unhappy.  My notes have been generated almost exclusively on my iPhone.
I still need to turn on cloud services for my iPad but will wait till I straighten out the above mess.  I don't want to confuse things any more than they arleady are.
Can anyone please help my achieve what I layed out above.  I would be most appreciative.

Can anyone suggest how to get my questions/problems resolved.  I'd go to a local apple store but I can only carry my iphone which won't help much with the imac.

  • Delete Apps from MacBook but not from iPhone

How can I delete Apps from iTunes but not from iPhone 3GS when I Sync them? The moment I delete the Apps from iTunes and then sync iPhone, iPhone deletes them as well.
    Please assist.

If you intend to ever sync your phone with your Macbook then you can't delete the app from your Macbook, otherwise the apps will also delete from your iPhone (as you've discovered).

  • Transfer "Notes" from iPhone 3Gs to iCloud and/or Devices

I lost my "Notes" from my iMac, iCloud and iPads. However they are still on my iPhone 3Gs. I turned "Notes" off under iCloud. How can I transfer the "Notes" from my iPhone 3Gs to the other devices and iCloud without risking the loss of the iPhone data during a transfer or iCloud backup?
    Thanks.

Well, you mean you want to extract your iPhone notes from iPhone backup, and get them to your other devices, such as Mac, iPad, get it right? If so, you can choose iPubsoft iPhone Backup Extractor for Mac, and connect your iPhone and iPad to your Mac computer, then start the program! Scan for your iPhone backup file! Select the notes you want to extract, then you can extract iPhone notes from backup file, and get them recovered on your iPad or Mac!

  • Is there any way to sync notes from iPhone 4 to MacBook Pro?

Is there any way to sync notes from iPhone 4 to MacBook Pro?

If the phone doesn't power on and isn't seen by the computer then you wouldn't be able to pull data off it with the USB connection to your computer.
You could pursue data recovery if the notes are very valuable, but the cost can be similar to having data recovered from a failed computer drive(possibly prohibitively expensive).

I cannot get "Notes" from IPhone 5.0 to upload or sync with the ICloud?

    Hi there PGMiller,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.
    iCloud: Notes overview

iCloud Notes uses your @icloud.com email account to store your notes. If you don’t have an @icloud.com email address, you can create one by turning on Notes in iCloud preferences on your Mac or in iCloud settings on your iOS device.

No.  All data on the phone are already gone.

  • How can i sync all my notes from iphone to ipad ?

I’m having difficulty to transfer all my notes from iphone to ipad, can some tell me how to do it please. I tried via icloud and iTunes still can’t have all notes, but managed to sync half of the notes  !!  don’t know how but only some of the notes are synced. I ticked the  notes box too.

If you can't get it to work, try a different note app such as Evernote.  Evernote has ipad, iphone, mac and website apps that sync.

    Hi TakesTwo2Tango,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you should definitely be seeing a plus sign after tapping Edit, so I would try a couple relatively easy things (closing the Music app, resetting the iPhone):
iOS: Force an app to close

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • Is there a way to access notes from iPhone 4 in Snow Leopard without using Mail?

I want to be able to access the notes from the iPhone 4 notes app on a Macbook Pro, running Snow Leopard, without using Mail.  Is there a way to do this?  Any good 3rd party software that does it without storing the information in the Cloud?

You could probably use something like PhoneView
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
but, frankly, I thnk that's more of hassle than just setting up an iCloud or other IMAP account on the iPad.
Even if Notes syncing is the only feature you use, it's going to be a far more seemless experience.

  • Incoming Gmail does not appear in Mail Inbox

Since installing Lion, none of my Gmail messages appear in the Mail Inbox at the top of the sidebar.  I retrieve my mail using IMAP.  Further down in the sidebar, there is a Gmail folder and under that another folder that says, "All Mail."  My incoming messages are appearing in here, along with all the spam, messages that are filtered, etc.  How do I get them back into the Mail Inbox?

It seems to have resolved the problem on its own.

  • Use of Notes with iphone and Mac Mail

I create notes on my iphone 4.
They appear in my Mac Mail, Mac OS X 10.7.5
When I move the note from my inbox to a folder, it disappears.
    Any suggestions?

To get what you appear to want, you need to upgrade to 10.8 where notes is a separate application. If you decide to upgrade here is a list of supported computers:

  • How to transfer notes from iphone 3Gs to 4s

How do you transfer notes from 3Gs to 4s

As it turns out, this is a laborious process. Apple could have simply put in option to Move under Notes (just as under Mail Box).
In my case, I had iPhone 3GS (from 2009 pre iCloud) and just got a new iPhone 4S.
    Notes are split under Accounts:
    On My iPhone (3GS)
    iCloud
After searching far, end up doing this.
Open up each Note On My iPhone
    Select All
    Copy
Go up to Accounts / switch to iCloud
    Open a new Note
    Paste
    Done
Repeat for 114 times (in my case 114 Notes On My iPhone 3GS). Then open up Notes iPhone 4S, all show up.
