Notes - How do I stop it from saving a copy every a few words?

When I select "All Notes" there are 20-40 copies of each note and each one has just a few words less than the previous one which means it's doing some kind of auto-save. I don't want it to do this because it makes it harder to look through the notes and its completely unneccsary. There is no preferences to adjust anything so I have no idea how to change anything.

I'm using 10.8.5 so it's right on the dock and connects to email or apple id's.
I'm not sure how it lead me to the 10.5.8 section I just clicked moutain lion within iCloud section.

New to Firefox. Running Mac Leopard and needed Firefox because a business website running a business replay podcast did not recognize Safari.
So far so good. I actually prefer Firefox to Safari now.
One little thing. Every time I browse the web and open a PDF file it "automatically" sends it to my download file and I therefore have the file "saved" . WELL, I don't necessarily want to save to my download file every PDF file that I open. I just want to open a PDF file, do a quick read and move on to more browsing. How do I stop Firefox from saving to my downloads every PDF file that I open? Is there some kind of setting I can adjust?

If you ever need to download a list of things, firefox can select a vertical column using the Cmd key, unlike Safari.
I have DownLoadThemAll installed and I can select a vertical group of files, right-click them and using DLTA, I can DL them to any location. With Safari, I would have to do this one-at-a-time.
Just another reason I like FF for many purposes.

I am using 10.7.4. How can I stop Preview from saving versions.

In Lion, 10.7.4 Prieview was changed to use Versions. This means the previous options of SaveAs is no longer available.
I want to be able to open a file in Preview and SaveAs (now Export) my changes, without having Preview then save those changes in the original file when I close the window. I know that I can use Revert to get back to the original, but is is time consuming and annoying to have to do so. How can I stop Lion from using versions??

How do I stop firefox from trying to resend every day an old email which I addressed to a bad email address?

Unknowingly I sent an email a couple of weeks ago to an outdated email address. I get an update from Mozilla every morning showing how many times it tried to resend that email the day before. But no instructions on how to stop it from trying to resend. Is there a way to stop the resending process? I already know the new correct email address.

Go to the Outbox and delete the mail.
The Outbox is under Local Folders.

How do I stop Thuderbird from saving an attachment when I double click it

This only appears to be an issue for Thunderbird in OS X.
When I choose to save an attachment, a Finder-like window opens. If I double click a directory, the file will automatically save there. A more natural behavior, in my opinion, is to descend into that directory, which will happen if I single click the directory.
Does anyone know how I can change the behavior so that a double click descends into the directory instead of saving the file.

When I go to my scottrade Sign in page and I go to enter the
account number. Firefox tries to finish the account number after I type one digit. I have different accounts and I do not what them rembered by firefox as other people use my PC

I have been trying to open .exe files on my computer, but instead of getting an 'open' option, I can only choose between 'save' and 'cancel'. Is there any way I can bring back my 'open' option?

No, you can't open an .exe file directly.<br />
Firefox will only offer to save such an executable file to allow your anti-virus software to scan the file and give you extra time to reconsider if you really want to run.

How can I stop pages from wanting to make every document into an outline?

Every time I try to create a document in Pages, it insists in turning it into an outline. How do I type a staright document?

Have you tried starting from a different template?
As far as I can tell the Outline setting is contained in the document, so this should only happen if you are starting from a template that was saved with Show Document Outline selected.

How can I stop iPhoto from importing duplicates of every photo on my iPhone

Having a problem with duplicates of all pics imported from my iPhone
-Connect iPhone
-iPhoto opens, showing the photos on the phone which have not been imported. Problem is that 2 copies of each of the photos are shown as being ready to import. Import otherwise goes as normal.
-If I select "import all," it will import both copies of each photo.
-Selecting and importing just 1 copy of each pic works fine, but leaves a copy on my phone, even if I delete the imported pics.
-The pics are not duplicated on my phone (before or after any import).
I'd appreciate any advice.

The problem is that every import is at least one new Event, and so it's quite possible that you could have 1,000 new Events every month thanks to Phootstream.
However, it's not such a huge deal to just select the Event at the end of the month and auto-split it (in the Events menu)

How do I stop Firefox from automatically signing in every time I restart

About a week ago, Firefox started automatically signing in whenever I have restarted or shutdown and then turned laptop back on again.
After the usual icons and stuff has reappeared on desktop, suddenly Firefox starts opening/signing in, without my asking it to open a window and sign in.
This is occurring whether I've checked to "save and restore at start-up" or to "save and quit".
Sometimes I want to do other work prior to signing into Firefox again.
I have repeatedly reviewed Tools/Options in search of a setting to adjust. From researching this problem on the web, the only direction I found was to UNcheck "Accept Third Party Cookies" from Privacy settings.
I tried this, to no avail.
I don't know where else to look for whatever setting I need to adjust to have things the way they always were before -- namely, to sign in when I would click on Firefox icon, and it would then open up Firefox to either homepage or to restoring the tabs that I last had open.

Firefox occasionally wants to update itself. Great. Sometimes I don't want to perform the update at that moment for any number of reasons, so I tell Firefox - Ask Later.
Firefox then asks again the next day, and the next day, and every day after. That's just annoying.
If I say "ask later", then ask no less than a week later. Better yet, give me the option to tell Firefox when to ask again.

Did you check the network setting?
Sounds that you have set to connect automatically when a connection is not available.

I had Opera set as my default browser since this began happening. I changed my default browser back to Firefox mainly because having Firefox open one or two seconds every time I open Opera was/is such a nuisance.
I believe this problem began because I attempted to manually transfer the files from my old computer to the new one (via the backed up files in my external drive). I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 when I did this. Microsoft changed the file set up from what I had been used to in Windows XP. I used XP for six years before being exposed to Windows 7 (I never had Vista).
I'm almost sure this problem has something to do with where I placed the application data when I was trying to reestablish the program set up on the new computer.
