Notes in a contact in OUtlook are no longer synched with my contacts on iphone
Hi I noticed recently that the notes that I make about a person in their contact in Outlook is no longer synched with the Iphone.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make this synch again?
What about the opposite way:
Create a test contact on iCloud, wait a few minutes, do you see it on the Mac?
In Mac's Contacts > Preferences... > Accounts > Is the iCloud account enabled?

status update -- I tried a lot of other things but finally solved the problem after I removed all the groups from mac address book. (thank-you to my son Ben)
FYI -- along the way I tried doing the reset sync history, which deleted all contacts from the iphone. I initially thought that was a good thing, until I discovered that nothing I tried after that would put the contacts back on the iphone. Next I restored factory settings on the iphone and set up as a new user, but that didn't work either. Or maybe it did; maybe deleting the groups wouldn't have solved the problem if I hadn't deleted all contacts and reset the iphone first. -

How can I delete topic index keywords that are no longer associated with a topic?
I am trying to clean up the index of an older Robohelp project before it becomes part of a merged webhelp project. I do not want to include any of its index keywords or topic keywords. I've managed to remove most of them, but I have a group of troublesome entries that refuse to go away. In fact, they cause RH8 to crash. I am running Windows XP.
Looking at the code in Visual Studio, it appears that an instruction is pointing to field which contains "zero". (see image below)
I have tried creating a new index and deleting the old index, but RH just keeps adding these topic keywords (in bold typeface) to the new index. If the keywords are no longer associated with a topic, where is RH storing these disassociated keywords? If I open the .hhk, it is empty.Not sure why RH crashed when deleting a portion of the topic keywords manuall

Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal.
Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal on my Macbook Pro (Lion OSX). It works fine the other way around.
I can't understand why, and cannot find a solution. Please help!You can no longer sync via iTunes. That method of sync was removed (and the 1000+ post thread is arguments over things tangientally related to that).
You need to sync via other means than iTunes, then.
One option is to use iCloud. If you sign into iCloud on all your devices, and then make sure your calendars are in the "iCloud" section on your devices, they should sync.
If you don't want to use iCloud, you could use Google calendars, they operate much the same way (but may be less reliable).
Or if you use Exchange for work, you could sync that way.
Or if none of those are acceptable, you could install OS X Server and set up the calendar server on your local network and use it to sync. This is fairly straightforward "for setting up a UNIX calendar server" but it's not trivial and beyond the scope of a forum post to explain it all -

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -

Thank youThe iPad is fine. But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad. You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

My outlook calendar will no longer synch with my iphone. how is this fixed?
my calendar was synching fine until recently and now nothing is updating on it. All itunes and iphone updates are up to date.
I just experienced something similar to this. What version of Outlook are you using? Is everything else in Outlook syncing correctly, i.e. contacts, notes? If so, it is probably a corrupt appointment that is causing the problem. You may have to delete all of the appointments and re-enter them (That is what I had to do). It isn't bad if you only have a few, but can be worse if you have a lot.
You can try and reset the sync history in iTunes. Go to Edit, Preferences, then Devices, and click on Reset sync history. If that doesn't help, you will have to delete appointments. You can print them off in Outlook so you don't loose them completely, but a manual re-entry may be in your future. -
Since 5.0.1 desktop upgrade, BBerry no longer synchs with outlook
I use Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 PC for the calendar, contacts, memos. I don't do email on the blackberry at all because my family runs its own email server on a UNIX machine we keep here at home and the Verizon Blackberry setup for the Curve 8330 doesn't play well with that arrangement.
For email I use Thunderbird connected to our own server via IMAP.
The BBerry was fine synching with the Outlook calendar, contacts, memos but sans email in previous desktop versions. It would complain about lack of Outlook as the default email handler, but it would soldier on and do the synch.
NOW, apparently, if Outlook is not the default email handler, it cannot find anything to synch with and it just quits.
I would rather trash Outlook completely and find some other Calendar app than to use Outlook email as my default. I moved to the BBerry from a Palm Treo. I could dig that back out and just use the BBerry as a phone if I needed to (The Palm calendar app is better on the PDA, worse on the desktop).
For now, I think I'm going to have to uninstall the desktop 5.0.1 and reinstall the old 4.7 version until someone can tell me how to make the synch work again... (And in the forum I can see that I am not the only one having problems with this).Well, I found something I can live with to make this work.
Using the 5.0.1 desktop... before I connect the Blackberry to synch, I set the Windows 7 default email to Outlook. Then I synch the calendar. Then I set the Windows email default back to Thunderbird. That works.
I can live with this for awhile, but I would hope that eventually the desktop would allow you to synch even if you don't use Outlook email. *sigh* I really don't need it to synch email at all... and with the amount of spam I'm filtering, trying to cope on the BBerry wouldn't be much fun anyway. -
Outlook 2011 no longer syncing with iCal 5
After the upgrade to Lion, Outlook 2011 w/ sp1 no longer syncs with iCal. Sync services are on but no syncing takes place.

Entity Bean Rollback fails: caches are out of synch with the database
We are encountering a critical issue where the rollback of a session transaction rolls back any database changes, but doesn't roll back bean changes in memory. When we next access the bean, it returns information that should have been rolled back. The memory cache is out of synch with the database.
We have a simple session bean S, using container managed transactions. We also have an entity bean E using bean managed persistence. E has a single member <name>.
We implement a method s() in S with <trans-attribute> Required as follows:

Since this is BMP, the setName call issues our SQL update against the S record. When the session transaction rolls back, the database changes are also rolled back. But the entity bean in memory shows the modified name. We can see this in the next call to s() since the getName() returns IGNORE rather than the original value. We have also gotten debugged into the underlying instance cache associated with the S bean descriptor. I.e.
AbstractEJBHome ejbHome = (AbstractEJBHome) lookupContext.lookup(SHome.NAME);
AlternateHashTable aht = ejbHome.getBeanDescriptor().getCache();
Looking at this map of bean instances also shows that the bean instance for S is not rolled back.
From previous conversations with the server technologies team, we understand that during the transaction, we should be working on a cloned copy of the S bean. Upon rollback, the copies should be discarded rather than merged back to the cached bean. They seem to be merged regardless of rollback state.
We are using OC4J 10.1.3.0.0 (build 060119.1546.05277).Actually, what one or the developers in my group found out is two things:
1) The clone is a shallow copy.They copy the references but not objects themselves. This has been causing problems for us.
2) It seems that you don't work on a copy and you work on the original and they keep a copy. Now, this is fine IF you don't have multiple threads working on the same Entity bean and we moved our application from Weblogic where it throws an exception if that Entity bean is in use to OC4J which is suppose to copy the bean and doesn't so you have multiple threads possibly modifying the same object. -
New images are refusing to synch with my online catalog
I'm using APE 8, and it has stopped updating my online catalog, although I'm nowhere near out of space.
The new images which refuse to synch have the backup/synch icon with the circling green arrow in the southwest corner.
When I right-click the Elements Backup/Synch agent in the taskbar and select "Backup/Sync now", it does nothing. When I select "View Backup/Sync Status" it says "Your desktop photos...are in synch..." But they're not. So I hit "Synch Now" and the gerbils run around for awhile, and then I get the same message (that everything is synched).
The visual indication that the photos are out of synch have now disappeared, but the supposedly synched images are not in my online catalog (bclayshannon.photosho.com)

I have been faced with the same issuebut did not realize no sync was taking place until i tried to share an album....
I upgraded from PSE7 to PSE8.... I believe I have resolved the issue....
You specifically need to:
1) open Backup/Synch preferences:
2) set backup sync to on
3) open advanced settings and check off the types of files you want syncronized... At least the status now shows
synchronization is pending.
4) Make sure sunch is operating (turned on) Move pointer over icon make sure it says "Backup Synch is operating normally"
When I upgraded from PSE7 to PSE8; these preferences were I guess, reset to what product normally installs with.
Hope it help everyone who is experiencing the same issue. -
I recently got an Iphone and after I installed it on my computer my 2 ipods are no longer able to sync to the computer how do I get the computer to recognize the 2 different ipods so I can still use them?
Since you already had two iPod before getting the iPhone, what exactly did you need to "install" to use the iPhone? Doesn't it use to the same iTunes installation you already used with the iPods?
So, I guess my question is, what changed on the computer when you started using the iPhone?
What happens now when you connect the iPod? Is the iPod still seen in Windows device manager? -
I used to be able to access my Events from my iphotos on my ipad and iphone. They are no longer available on either device since upgrading them
I have seen this problem before. Does it also ask you for a voicemail password (even if you don't have one). If so, call your carrier and have them deactivate your voicemail password and it should be fixed. What happens is, it asks you for your voicemail password and the default way to listen to voicemail is to call a number to listen to them. However, the iPhone has a Voicemail tab where all of your voicemails are stored, but the default probably got reset during your iOS upgrade.

Hey guys... for some reason my Mighty Mouse quit scrolling down today. It will still scroll up but not down. I can't feel anything when I scroll down that makes it seem like its catching something, so I am cluecless. Any ideas?!
