"Notes" making duplicates in my gmail account
This is my first Macbook or Mac Computer I've ever owned, and thought it was awesome that my notes synced with my gmail account. Except now, after upgrading to Mountain Lion there is always a folder in my trash labeled recovered items or something, and when I go to my gmail via mail or the actual web mail client, I have a bunch of duplicates for the same note. I deleted 45 this evening of one for my Psychology class. The only workaround I've found so far, was to disable my gmail notes, and make an icloud email and sync my notes that way... however, as it is now, I have an Android phone and syncing with my gmail is a better option when not near my Macbook.

Yeah, my mail account only has google, before it had google and icloud but only one of each. I may not have explained it properly though. Mail doesn't seem to be the problem, 10.8 seperated Notes and the Mail app, they no longer appear in Mail, but if I were to go to gmail.com they show up as duplicates (and many of them). When I switched my notes to icloud only, and go to icloud.com, the notes seem fine... with no duplicaes. Yet, in the "On My Mac" section of the Notes app, there is a folder labeled Recovered Items... where nearly every time I access notes, the most recent edited note displays duplicates.
I appreciate your input though, and I double checked what you suggested, no luck yet. I could switch to evernote but I love the formatting of "Notes"

1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you use MobileMe/ iCloud or another server based sync solution like Google or Yahoo?
4. Do other changes to synced information like Address Book content sync successfully back and forth?
Based on your description it sounds like you have a 1 way sync issue. Events sync fine between the iOS devices and fine from the computer to the iOS devices but not from the iOS devices to the computer.
Try:
Backup your computer and iOS devices before doing anything else:

Make separate backups of critical data:

Not able to add another gmail account to ipad mini it says something imap.gmail while adding an gmail account. The device already has my brother gmail created apple id so I also created mine using itunes .I can log in itunes and download apps and I want to do the same using ipad mini with my apple id but when trying to add another account it says something imap.gmail incorrect. ITunes making duplicates in second user account
I hope I can describe my issue properly. First of all let me start off by telling everybody that I am a new Mac user making the switch from PC so please be patient with this Mac noob.
That being said, I proceeded to setup my new Mac with all the software that I wanted on it before adding an additional user account for my wife. I went through the process of moving my music library over to my account (64Gb) and importing it into my library. I have an iPhone so I am pretty familiar with the iTunes interface.
Once I felt I had everything on this Mac that I wanted, I created a user account on the Mac for my wife to login to and setup sharing for her in iTunes so that we could use the same media folder rather than have 2 physical copies of the media across 2 user accounts on the same computer.
My problem is that when I tell iTunes on her account to find the music, it adds it into her library twice so there is 2 of every song and iTunes shows that there is 128Gb music in her library even though I can only find 1 copy of any of the music on the hard drive.
How can I clean this up?

'Notes' sends all entries to gmail account

hoping this is the correct forum section for my question.
I have multiple accounts in my mail application and have just discovered that whenever I have made an entry into 'Notes', it has always sent this to my Gmail account. How do I turn this off? All I want is to have 'Notes' as a local only reminder on the MBP and not on cloud, let alone be linked to an email account.
Well..if it cannot be done any other way, at least for it to stay away from the email account.

under Notes>Accounts I have my multiple email accounts and cloud option. What's interesting is that the 'iCloud' option for Notes was unchecked. The Gmail option did have 'Mail and 'Notes' checked. The other mail accounts only gave me the option to enable or disable the account.
Naturally I have now unchecked the 'Notes' option within the Gmail account. This deleted all my Notes and inserted 'On my mac' instead of the 'Gmail' heading on the upper left of the window.
Did take screenshots of my notes (didn't have that many) prior to making this change, so hopefully that was that.
Feel confident about that having been the case and marking it as 'solved'.

Mail not receiving incoming mail from gmail account
I have an imac with 10.5 that has suddenly stopped accepting email in one of my gmail accounts, but still gets it from another. I synched my imac with my ibook earlier today. The ibook has the same problem accepts mail from the account that the imac doesn't etc.
Any help solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Did you select “Directory Management Service” option, if so, please make sure you configure the Central Administration application pool identity account to have the Create, delete, and manage user accounts right to the container that you specify in Active Directory.
Did you install Exchange server 2003 in your MOSS environment? If so, you should add an SMTP connector in Exchange Server, if you don’t know how to do that, you can post your issue into the following forum:

Also, please check whether your configuration meet the following requirements, If not, correct them and check the effect.
· The application pool account for Central Administration, the logon account for the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service, and the application pool accounts for your Web applications should have the correct permissions to the e-mail drop folder.
· The domain controller running Active Directory has a Mail Exchanger (MX) entry in DNS Manager for the mail server that you plan to use for incoming e-mail.

Not Receiving Emails from my Gmail Account in Mail
I am not receiving my e-mails from my Gmail account. I have not received any since 31 Dec 2010. I have gone thru the Gmail web site to look at my mail & I have received several since 31 Dec. I've used the Connectivity Doctor & all three go green, but I'm still not getting my Gmail. I heard today about some issue with the iPhone & alarms - could this be connected with that? What's the problem?

I have an iPhone 4s. I did not know if I deleted my notes from my gmail account, they would also be erased from my notes. My last backup was in April, however I have added a LOT of notes since then.

Firefox will not let me access my gmail accounts
I just downloaded firefox last night and this is what I get when I try to go to gmail or my university's email account (powered by gmail)
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
Unless Firefox disables/refuses cookies automatically, that's not a problem and the same university email will load on chrome, but I shouldn't have to load two different browsers to do stuff on the internet.

I guess you believe the "Less Secure App" rubbish that gmail is putting out.
Gmail has an option to allow these "less secure app" into their secure world.
