Notes with tasks appearing twice in mail
Has anyone experienced a problem with notes in email where you create a note with tasks and find after you restart the computer that the note's contents have altered and/or the note itself duplicated so you now have two versions of the same note?
This happens to me a lot as well. This hinders my attempt at using Mail 3 for serious GTD. I've also experienced problems where the notes is losing its type. It somehow reverts to X-Uniform-Type-Identifier: com.apple.mail-message instead of X-Uniform-Type-Identifier: com.apple.mail-note.
Once in that state, all the todo are lost and you have to recreate the note. Very, very bad.
I'm surprisingly disappointed at the lack of stability of the note feature. Seems rushed to market. Not my typical Apple experience.

Does notes and tasks sync from Exchnage mail account to Iphone? what ios version is required for this and are there any sync restrictions - only one way and so on?
No, can't be done and No, there are no apps that can do this (by Apple's decree).

the problem I have since I upgraded to Mavericks version 10.9.1
The problem appears only with Mail not with other programs, not even with my browser.
When I try to zoom the text of an e-mail I received or sent , I can no longer use the keys Command + to enlarge the text, although I can reduce it with Command -.
As I have a problem with my eyes, This is a serious matter for me.
When I write an e-mail, if I select text and press Command +, it just displaces the text to the right.
Now, my husband has a USB keyboard. If he connects it to my computer, his regular Command + does not work either, but he uses the extended keyboard, then it works. Unfortunately, he needs it for a musical application which does not work with a wireless keyboard.Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10". -
Sent mail not appearing in Internet mail box
I have recently been using Mail on iMac and while I can receive and view all emails on it. But strange thing is that whatever I sent from Mail on the iMac, it just appeared on the Mail Sent box but do not appear on the internet version of email sent box or anywhere in the internet version. I do have an iPhone and the sent mail from the iMac Mail cannot be found too. However, receiptents do receive my emails anyway. It is frustrating and disappointed that this happened and unable to do work on my iMac in this way especially when I am travelling and away from my desk.
Currently I am using Yahoo! .sg mail with IMAP and has checked thoroughly, including the outgoing server. Did many delete and re-installing but this does not seem to work. Maybe there are some steps that I have overlooked, or improper installation, could somebody help?
JChanSGPI find that perhaps one message in ten is not saved to my sent folder. I am using .mac mail. I am storing sent messages on the server, draft messages locally.
It seems that some kind of timeout on port 143 prevents the message from being copied to the sent folder, although the message is actually sent.
This is clearly a bug. Even if there is a communication failure, the message should remain accessible somewhere, not drift off into the ether. It would be far preferable to risk sending twice by holding the outgoing message in drafts until the move to sent completes. -
Lock icons appear twice in notification area of task bar
I just got my touchsmart IQ546t. I've noticed sometimes the caps, num, and scroll lock icons in the notificaiton area of the taskbar appear twice. Not sure if it is something to do with the wireless keyboard or not. For now I hid them, but I would like to fix it.
Hi
Which tasks are not present in the taskbar area?
As far as I know if the application was started as a background process it doesnt occur in the task bar.
Furthermore possibly during the installation some programs ask you if you want create the icon in the task bar.
Additional I have found a very useful article about the Missing System Tray Icons at Windows XP start-up.

Maybe it will help you a little bit. -
Since update of my Mac Book Pro my previously drafted Notes no longer appear on my Mac but are still available through iCloud on my iPhone and iPad. How do I get my Mac to sync with the other devices as e'thing else has synced on my MAC through iCloud. Also since the update Notes no longer appear as a folder in "Mail" but are now a distinct programme-is there any way of returning Notes to the Mail programme?
Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple? -
Sent mail does not appear in sent mail folder
Hi. Odd problem. I have done a search for this but can't find an answer.
I have an IMAP account with PIPEX and mail will not display the sent messages.
Mail has 3 folders - Inbox, Sent, Trash.
IMAP account has 2 folders - INBOX and a sub folder sent-mail.
Inbox/INBOX syncs fine.
Nothing appears at all in Sent.
Sent messages sync ok, as (using finder) they appear in my library at myusername/library/mail/IMAP-(mylogin)/INBOX/sent-mail.imapmbox/Messages
For info, the inbox messages are stored at myusername/library/mail/IMAP-(mylogin)/INBOX.imapmbox/Messages.
For info again I have store sent messages on server selected in preferences (because I need to see them from another computer)
I have tried 'rebuild' several times on the inbox & the rebuild option is greyed out on the sent folder.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
StringbagHi Stringbag.
This account requires INBOX to be put in Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > IMAP Path Prefix for Mail to handle it properly. Mailboxes on the server should not appear as subfolders of the account’s Inbox in Mail.
After having done that, Mail should be able to properly save sent messages on the server, but maybe in a mailbox different from where you want them to be stored. To fix that, select the desired folder in Mail, and do Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent. -
I tried to configure my mac to enable it to receive mails in the notification center but cant. i have tried to send an email from other IDs but havent received any banner or alert while using my mac. i have checked the show alerts and banners in notification center. Do i have to keep the window of the mail app in a specific position to receive alerts in the notification centre? Also, the gears are not appearing in the mail app when i fetch for new mail. please help..
I'm also having this problem.
Notifications receives alerts from Reminders app, but not Mail.
I've set preferences in Mail for 'Inbox Only' and 'All Mailboxes', sent test mail from ISP webmail and Google (Mail is not setup to receive from this account) - still no notifications.
I had previously used Growl (v1.4) and GrowlMail very successfully (with 10.7), but while upgrading to Mountain Lion I was informed that GrowlMail was incompatible so I deleted it.
While testing this problem of not receiving Mail Notifications I have disabled Growl and rebooted.
Like others here:
Checked: Notifications setup
Checked: Mail setup
Rebuilt permissions
Rebooted
Any help would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks. -
With the new software for the I phone it appears 12 000 mails without reading and I can't find the solution, With the new software for the I phone it appears 12 000 mails without reading and I can't find the solution
Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

I've been getting this since I upgraded systemd last week. I tried fixing some of these by removing partitions with the same label that I wasn't using, which worked. The reason I have so many partitions with the same label is due to btrfs. Each partition that makes up a volume in btrfs has the same label. Apparently systemd doesn't like this.
Everything on my system seems to be working fine, however I would like to stop these errors since they are annoying/scary, but without having to reduce all my volumes to single.
Last edited by nstgc (2015-04-26 15:53:20)I'm running with a wired-only set up. I'll have to wait for the weekend to look into the wireless angle, however I doubt that is the cause for me.
Following dront78's example below is the output of "# hwinfo --partitions"

i don't have time to look at this in detail this morning, but I will this afternoon.
Thank you for all the replies. Have any of you found this to actually be damaging?
[edit] In an effort to not be completely lazy, and because I was curious, I did check a bit into netctl. Running "$ netctl list" returned exactly nothing. I have no profiles.
[edit2]
I just ran "$ dmesg -l err" on my laptop and I'm not getting any errors.

SyncMate vs. FoneLink for syncing Nokia E50 notes with Mac Mail
Hello,
After some searching, it appears that there are two programs that would sync my Nokia E50 notes with Mac Mail on my MacBook Pro - SyncMate and FoneLink. Both are priced at about $50 - a bit spendy. Has anybody use / compared the two? Are there other options?
Thanks,

When I start the m/ff 3.6.3 browser, the pop-up prompt asking for the master security password appears twice. It was not doing this for the 1st month i had it, and it just started doing it all of a sudden. What could be wrong? O/S = Vista Home Prem.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== Afew days agoIt could be this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499233 - - multiple master password prompts triggered by filling form logins in multiple tabs
If you have multiple tabs with form logins restoring when you restart Firefox, that could cause multiple master password prompts.
There may be other bug(s) causing multiple master password prompts. One way to make the master password a little more usable is the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9808/ StartupMaster] add-on, which prompts once for the password at startup, then never bothers you. -
Sync OSX Reminders with Google task and OSX Notes with Android's Memo
Hi all!
I have recently moved to OS X and I was wondering if there is a way to sync Reminders with Google Task and Notes with Android's Memo. I can see the question has been asked in past for a different OS X (I'm on Maverick) but I couldn't find a solution that works.
I have currently my Calendar sync'ed with Google Calendar: if I choose "Accounts..." in Reminders I can tick "Mail", "Contacts", "Calendars", "Messages" and "Notes" but I can't see "Tasks".
Is there a way to set this?
Thanks in advance!Cheers for that BikeMystery. So yeah, if you mainly use Google Services then the only way to get Reminders and Notes syncing between OSX ML and your iOS deviceis to activate Notes and Reminders under iCloud and create an @me address and an iCloud calendar. That's a bit pants really.
If you do have an Exchange or Yahoo! account set up in Mail, Contacts & Calendars does that allow Notes & Reminders to sync with iOS without iCloud? -
Contacts appearing twice on iPhone but not on iMac
When I update my contacts on my iPhone 4S (with iCloud), the contacts appear twice (the same doesn't happen on my iMac). If I try to delete one contacts, it deletes both... The same happens also to the groups.
Can anyone help? I guess it must be something to do with syncing, but I don't know how to sort it.
Thanks!Go to Settings>Mail, etc>iCloud>Delete account. It'll ask you if you want to keep Contacts, stored on your iPhone. Say no, then reinstate your iCloud account.
That should sort it out. -
Problem with replies in Maverick's mail. Originating emails send fine. When replying to an email (various addresses) the reply is hung up and can not be sent. Option becomes put in draft, delete, etc. Any suggestions would be helpful. Mid 2013 iMac.
I don't know how rare this is. I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur. Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
This is a show stopper. If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)
UPDATE: The problem comes and goes. The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds. Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming. I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.
