Notes won't open on ipad2 running iOS 7

The native Notes app will not stay open on my iPad2 running iOS7. It opens for about 1 second, then closes. No other software problems, other apps are OK. Thanks for your suggestions.

(A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
(B) Reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

If it is the third party apps that you are having problems with - try downloading another app - any free app will work. See if the apps will open after you try that. Or look here for help.

  • IMessage Won't Open on iPad 2 iOS 6.1.3

My 32GB Black Wi-Fi iPad 2 Running iOS 6.1.3 has been working fine until recently. My friend spammed me with messages on iMessage and now it won't open. I launch it and it crashes. I've tried a soft reboot, a hard reboot, and a "reset all settings." In Settings<General<Reset
The only think I haven't tried is restoring it with iTunes. I know how to do it and I've done it in the past, I just don't want to go through the hassle. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    David

To fix this issue, go into the contacts app and choose to send a message to a random contact. Then the messages app will open. Delete the spam message that was causing the problem, and delete the blank message you chose to send to the random contact. This discussion is now closed.
    Thanks,

  • Safari won't open, I'm running 10.6.8, with safari 5.1.7

    Hi,
Safari was working fine yesterday, but today I switched on my macbook pro (10.6.8) and now safari won't open. It says "Safari cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Safari works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X".
I went to 'software updates' and everything is up to date.
I can't copy and paste the error message here because I can't get onto the internet using the macbook. I'm on another computer.
I'm not sure what operating system I have. I don't know how I find that out either!

  • ProRes422 HQ File (142gigs) won't open on PC running win7 & Premiere CS5

-My associate has Adobe Premiere (CS5) running on her PC under Windows 7 and cannot open the 142gig prores 422(HQ) QT file on my Gdrive and I believe it's because she's running Windows 7.
-At ScreamerVision in NY where I had the file put on a 1tb GDrive from my XDcam Master, we managed to open it on a small Dell machine running XP and it ran the 142 gig movie flawlessly.
-Do anyone have any ideas why it won't open on her PC or if there's a plug-in from Apple or Adobe that she could put on her PC that would make it possible for her to open the Prores 422 HQ file on her PC with Premiere? Once she does that she can transcode it to any file format she needs to use.
    - She doesn't appear to have any PC machines running XP except for an old one that doesn't have USB 2.0, eSata or Firewire (all the outputs of my GDrive).
Anyone run across this before? Any suggestions or answers? Thanx in advance.

    A.  PROBLEM: Each time I try to use this reputable program (version 5.2 (7534.52.7), I encountered the following problem:
Program (1) loads instantly, (2) presents the browser space, (3) agrees to open new tabs, (4) but when I try to direct it to ANY URL at all, the hour-glass appears, but the wait is fruitness.  I cannot reach any site at all.
I've tried to access the program, both as "administrator" and regular "user."  No joy.
All I ever get showing is the interesting interface (and an hour-glass on an URL-call) and nothing else.
Even though it's about a different application, I'd try the following document with that:
iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(Safari uses the same webkit engine to render web pages as iTunes uses to render the Store pages. So an issue that can cause the iTunes Store to blank can also cause a Safari for Windows application on the same PC to produce blank pages.)

  • Pdf files won't open in Safari running on a Mac

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard in preparation for Lion and ever since the upgrade, pdf files won't open in Safari.  I have Reader 9.4.5.  It opens documents that are on my machine, it just won't open in Safari, nor do the documents download.

MIght be helpful to disable Adobe plugin by going to Adobe Reader's Preferences -> Internet and unchecking "Display PDF in browser using".
Then dump the atrocious bloated Reader.

  • Time Machine not configured / won't open / but it runs?

I'd appreciate some assistance troubleshooting a Time Machine issue.
I recently purchased a 2TB Time Capsule and set it up on my home network.  I have set Time Machine up using it to back up 2 out of 3 MacBook Pros with no issues.
On the third MacBook, the Time Machine setup appears to work just fine (I have selected the Time Capsule disk, it has done the first full backup and periodic incremental backups).  However, I have the following problems:
I cannot open the Time Machine application.  Clicking on the App causes absolutely nothing to happen.  No error. No windows. Nothing.
The icon in the menu bar is greyed out and gives no indication of backups in progress (no spinning clock like the other macs).  Clicking on it reveals the top, greyed out menu choice that says "Time Machine not configured".  (I can open time machine preferences and observe status from within that window.)
I have searched this and other sites for solutions.  I have done steps A4 and E4 from this site (repeatedly) with no success.

  • Pages '09 won't open on MacBook running 10.5.8

Was running Pages 09 on 10.5.8 MacBook for quite some time. It suddenly stopped working. It won't start. It doesn't start and crash, it just does not start at all. Nothing happens.

  • Tv out not working on my iphone 3g running ios 4

Not sure why, but after upgrading to ios4 i can no longer use the tv out features to display photos or movies (via ipod) to my tv/projector. Any ideas why this might be?

It's likely running slow because of iOS4, not because of apps being open.  Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore from your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
You'll most likely need to restore as new to get it running as good as it can.  A 3G will never run as good on iOS4 as it did on iOS3.

  • Some apps won't open with iPhone 5, ios 6

Is anyone else having problems opening certain app with the new iphone 5 running the ios 6 software?  They open for a few seconds and then close immediately.

    I have the same problem
Below are what I did a few days ago and might had led to the problem
I transferred my purchases to iTunes and synced them --> no problem
I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 --> no problem
I installed "the little crane that could" version 4.4 --> starts but hangs
Updated "the little crane that could" to version 4.4.1 --> crashes and never starts
Removed the app to reinstall again --> not on App Store (knew later that Apple removed it for this bug)
Installed again from my synced apps on my computer --> starts but shuts down unexpectedly
Now all my apps shut down unexpectedly including App Store, Contacts, and even during phone calls voice is muted for a second and I get back to home screen. I thought that this usually happens when I am connected to either WiFi or cellular data but I found it happens even in Airplane mode.
I tried all the options I found on the Internet like
    Restarting iPhone
    Rebooting iPhone
Removing and Reinstalling the App (now it is back to App Store after fixing the bug)
Closing all open apps by double clicking the home button
Deauthorizing, then Authorizing my PC and syncing
    Downloading a free app
I did not try to restore my iPhone because I do not want to lose my data and because some people said it did not help

  • When I disconnect my bluetooth keyboard, Safari and Notes won't open the onscreen keyboard

Hi, on iOS 7 when I've dismissed the onscreen keyboard because I'm using my Bluetooth one, but then disconnect my Bluetooth keyboard, I can't get the on-screen one to pop up again in some applications like Safari and Notes. Other applications such as Mail are unaffected.
I Googled this a lot but mostly what comes up are "x tips and tricks for ios 7" articles which don't have anything to do with the problem. The only relavent result that I found recommended I restart my iPad. OK, so I restart my iPad and now the software keyboard works in Safari... That's ridiculous! I don't even want to use my bluetooth keyboard if I have to restart the iPad every time for when I'm not using it!
This apparently affects all bluetooth keyboard models, I use a Logitech FabricSkin folio, but I also have tried it with my Apple Bluetooth keyboard with the same problems.
Tapping in the text area used to bring the keyboard back up, but no more.
Please tell me there is some alternate solution, or a gesture to bring up the keyboard, or something? This is probably the stupidest thing I've seen in iOS 7.
    Thanks

I also have the same problem.  If you turn off Bluetooth, the virtual keyboard won't come back, especially if you're using Bluetooth speakers as well.  Heck, it even rebooted my iPad when I tried this.
I'm very tempted to dump my iPad + Logitech Keyboard if this doesn't get resolved in a timely manner.

  • ITunes & Quicktime won't open but processes running

Tried to startup iTunes one day for some music before class, the hourglass came up, but no iTunes, looked in the system processes and there it was, just wasn't opening. Uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version 7.4.2 numerous times, some with leaving the application data there, most with wiping out anything iTunes related from my hard drive and trying again. Also tried earlier versions of iTunes, all did the same thing.
Nothing seemed to work, so I just reformatted my harddrive and started to put things on, at first it opened fine, then I added all my music in, and it went to get album art I believe, and I started to sort through my iTunes music folder, I go to right click to sort by name and my whole computer freezes. Now iTunes does the same as is it does before, just the processes open, and then about 2-3 mins later if I don't kill the process my whole computer freezes.
I don't know whether this would be something with my sound drivers or whatnot because it all started happening randomly, and my laptop runs iTunes perfectly fine, same with my roommates desktop (almost identical hardware). Every other media device I have runs fine, VLC, WMP, etc.

I had a similar problem with iTunes not working. Hourglass would come up, then it would revert back to arrow but iTunes wouldn't open. It would appear to be running on the list of processes, but I could not end that process.
I fixed it - or at least it seems fixed - by performing a repair installation of Windows XP. My guess is the problem was with one of the deep system files, which the reinstallation replaced. Can't know for sure, though.
