Notes won't sync on iPhone or iPod Touch

Since July 13th, the notes on my iPod Touch 2g and now on my iPhone 3g will not sync. If I add any, they are deleted when I plug it in, but nothing else is lost. Can someone tell me what may be wrong? For a while, there would be a box popping up asking me to choose if I wanted the notes from the device, or the ones on the computer. As soon as I selected one, it would give me a server sync error (saying it couldn't connect to the sync server) and then go away and erase the new notes. But I haven't gotten that popup in a while.
I've done virus and spyware/malware scans, but that did nothing. What's up with this?

On my Macbook/iPhone, I've been having this same problem too and haven't found a solution.

I try to transfer the LP to my iPod touch and it won't work. My iPod iOS is up to date, as is my iTunes. I deauthorised my account as well as reauthorising it. Nothing is working. Please help?

How are you trying to add these new music/content to your iPod?  How is your device configured to sync Music from under its Music tab in iTunes?  See this article for more help and information on syncing music to your iPod Touch.

  • Mountain lion notes won't sync with iPhone notes

I must have a setting messed up but I just upgraded to 10.8.2 and iTunes 11.0 and I want to move the notes I have on my iPhone to my Mac.  I am having trouble syncing the two devices.  I didn't see anything in iTunes 11.0 to force a sync nor did I see anything in the setting of my phone that would solve this issue.

I have the same problem after updating it 2 days ago, used it for the first time today with my iPhone plugged in for sync.
I don't think that you messed up anything. This is a terrible user interface. Much harder to use than the privious one. Who approved such a bad one?

  • Syncing prob:icons for apps won't sync from Mac to ipod touch G1

I have a 1st Generation iPod touch, 32 GB and the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I have tried several times to sync my laptop to my iPod...all goes well except it won't sync the icon pictures of my apps to my ipod...except 2 or 3. Please tell me what setting is wrong or what I can do to get the icon pictures on my iPod. Buying an updated iPod Touch may solve the problem, but that is not an option at the moment. This one is so old it doesn't have a cam or anything... but it still works very well.

You say you have a 1G iPod. Those can only gas as high as iOS 3.1.3 that you get here:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
However, not there are few apps still compatible with the 3.1.3. Many have been udated so theay are no lnoger compatible with th 3.1.3.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Can I sync a MacBook Pro to my iMac.......like syncing my iPhone or iPod Touch...using a common USB cable?

    Hullo all.
Am curious to know whether I can, on a regular basis, sync my new MacBook Pro to my main machine, the 27 inch iMac?
Obviously I do this with my iPhone, iPad2 and my iPod Touch.
I guess I would use a USB to USB cable...which I have, to allow the two Mac's to talk to each other.
Any suggestions? I do have Chronosync...should I try this application?

ps, I did buy the new iPad2 and love it...but, for all its brilliance , it is not a MBP......obviously!
So, I bought a new one to the one I sold a few months back, and it is fabulous, got a 500 gig machine this time!

Comment was an after thought! But it might help explain my situation!

Hi all, a bit surprised at total lack of feedback!
Maybe with the Cloud coming, we don't need to worry about manually syncing devices!!
So, can I conclude that you can't really 'sync' a MacBook to an iMac?
    Appreciate an answer
    Thanks

  • Sync multiple iPhones and iPod Touch's to one PC

I am going to have one iPhone 4 32GB and two iPod Touch 8GB's with one PC. I read up on how to sync different playlists to each device. However, I am unclear on how to sync different Apps to each device. The iPods I will have are much smaller capacities, so I know I won't be able to have all of my apps + music on them. How to you limit which Apps go to a Sync'd device?

Basically the same way you sync different playlists, by checkmarking what you want to go onto the device, but you do it through the Apps tab.
    Regards.

  • My iTunes won't sync music to my iPod touch 5th gen.

    It's NEW.
I got it in the mail a week ago, and updated it to iOS 7 before I started syncing anything. And I updated iTunes to 11. It syncs all of my apps problem free. And it syncs my photos. But the music is not transfering. My iPod touch 4th gen is working just fine. So what do I have to do to my new iPod to make it work?

    Hi raymanvancil,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You may want to try setting up syncing in iTunes again by following the steps in the article below. If music doesn't seem to be syncing, try un-checking and then re-checking the "Sync music" checkbox in iTunes.

  • S 10 won't sync music to my iPod Touch 4

Trying to sync my music (eonly certain albums and artists) from iTunes 10 to my iPod Touch 4.
I have the iOS 5 update loaded to my iPod.  It starts step 1 and just says "waiting fo rsync to start",
then after a while it gives me a separate error box that reads "The iPod 'Kari's iPod Touch" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start."
Last week I was removing programs that I didn't think I needed and I deleted Bonjour.  Could this have anything to do with it?
I am operating on a Dell Optiplex on Windows XP Pro.
    Thanks!

The problem seems to be in the photo syncing portion of the routine.
I found this solution and it appears to work.

  • Movies converted for AppleTV won't sync to 2nd gen iPod touch with iTunes 8

I have about 40 movies that I converted to "Apple TV" format with Quicktime Pro. They all play fine on my Apple TV. But only one of them will sync with my new 2nd gen iPod touch... and that one was converted by someone else for me to Apple TV with iSquint!
iTunes tells me the remaining videos cannot be played on this iPod. ***? They play in iTunes, they play on the Apple TV... what's the difference with the iPod?
So now I'm having to completely reconvert all my movies to iPod format with the function in iTunes 8 "Create iPod or iPhone version" but this is PAINFULLY SLOW!!! One video on my brand new 3.06Ghz iMac Intel Core 2 Duo took FOUR HOURS
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone else find a faster way to fix it???
    HELP!!

    It just does.
You can do it quicker using other tools.
For instance I have a hardware device called Turbo.264 which shifts the conversion off the computer and is much quicker.
You can read all about it here :-

  • Music won't sync on 2nd Generation Ipod Touch

My husband recently accidently reset his Ipod touch and lost all of his music. When attempting to sync the Ipod with his library, only his photos were transferred to the Ipod. I checked the settings on Itunes and on the Ipod and I don't see anything amiss. Any suggestions?

Is the iPod signed into the same iTunes account of that of the music on the computer? To sign in on the iPod go to Settings>Store and sign in.

  • Albums won't sync to iPhone or iPod

This has been driving me crazy, can anybody help please? Here are the details...
    * I'm up to date on iTunes, OSX and iPhoto. Always have been, always will be.
    * I run an iPod Classic, iPhone 3G and iPod Nano 1G.
    * I synch photos to the iPod and iPhone, not the Nano.
    * When I plug in the iPod and iPhone, they sync everything except for the photos. When it gets to this stage I get a -50 error (seemingly generic error)
    * This has only been happening for the last two weeks.
    * This doesn't happen to the Nano.
    * I run iPhoto from an external drive, always have.
    * I've restored the iPhone to factory settings and still get the same problem.
    * In iTunes, the "Albums" option is grayed out, when it wasn't before.
    * By these deductions, it must be something to do with iPhoto.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Message:
"The iPhone * cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50)."
I've always had 4 albums on my iPhone and they've always fit. They just decided one Wednesday not to. I keep around 1GB free on my 8GB phone. There are around 1500 photos. On the iPod I sync my whole iPhoto library which is around 20GB but I've still got 15GB free after that.
Neither of them want to sync any photos now.
    Thanks for your concern.

  • Notes won't sync between iPhone

Maybe I need to wipe my phone and reload everything.
Notes created on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) don't sync to my Mac (Lion OS X 10.7.3). Notes created on my Mac sync to the phone, where I can edit them and they will sync back to the Mac.
I wish I hadn't bought Apple Care to go with this phone... I've put in 4 calls to them and haven't managed to get a single suggestion for what to do or anything to try.
Is it my imagination or has Apple changed a lot since Steve Jobs died? I used the tell people Apple tech support was excellent but after getting this iPhone my opinion has changed. Forget Apple Care and just use the support communities. You get faster response and better suggestions.

One other thing to try.  Do you have a Yahoo email account on your phone?  If so, Notes that I create on my iPhone are synchronized to my Yahoo account instead of Mail.  Notes that I create in Mail stay synched in Mail, however!
To change this, on your iPhone, go to Setting -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> (select your Yahoo account).  Then set Notes to Off.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This will erase your notes off your phone and from your Yahoo account!  Make sure to email each of your notes somewhere safe (such as to your home email) before making the above change!  Then recreate the notes either on your iPhone (where they will now sync to Mail) or in Mail (where they will sync to your iPhone).

  • ITunes won't sync music to my iPod touch

I recently tried switching the computer that my iPod syncs to.  At first I got an error that there wasn't enough room on my ipod.  I reset my ipod, I restored my ipod, I repaired itunes.  Nothing has worked.  Yes...the sync music box is checked.  I'ved tried both entire library and individual folders.  I have 1,485 songs that I'm trying to sync and it has only put 110 on my ipod.  These were all on it before and I never had any issues on my other computer.
I'm at a total loss and getting really frustrated! Help please!!!!!!!!

Hmm.. Thank you for the response.
Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
Maybe try reformatting it, using the tools provided by Windows. Instructions on how to reformat your iPod can be found in this article.
