Nothing at all works
Alright, I've had a black ipod nano since christmas of 05. It just recently died. I was working in a cornfield when the music stopped playing. I got it out and the lock screen was frozen. I reset it and it turned off. It hasn't been able to turn on or reset since. I put it on the charger and it flashes low battery twice and goes to the turning on screen thing. It repeats that process. It has been doing that for over 3 hours now while I have been desperately trying to figure out what is wrong with it. I'm going to go crazy dealing with this **** corn all day with no music. Please HELP FAST.

I have the same **ing problem for a year now. And everytime I go to the store to fix it they don't know what the problem is so if you figure out what is going on let me know.

Nothing at all works in iCal on MacPro
I have finally got the new mobileme calendar to sync relatively normally with iCal on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. This was a trial in itself but I have managed to work out the quirky behaviour of the new calendar. When I tried to add my MacPro to the list of computers that sync to mm all worked except for iCal. iCal on the Mac Pro does not do anything: I can't add the mm account to the list of servers and I can't create a new event or calendar on my mac - options to do this are greyed out. There are no calendars in the side panel.
When I try to set up the mm server in preferences the password field will always revert to blank as soon as I hit return or close and open preferences. I also can't select 'push' (as I can on my MacBook Pro) in the refresh menu. I have deleted the plist files - com.apple.iCal.helper.plist and com.apple.iCal.plist and nothing changed. I've also tried resetting sync data for calendars in mm preference panel - it didn't work and I subsequently read that this has no effect with the new mobileme calendar.
I'm using iCal 4.0.4The settings in System Preferences>MobileMe.Sync have no effect whatever on the new MobileMe calendars (and in a few days time will have no effect on any local calendars either): it should be turned off. The computers listed for syncing are irrelevant here.
The new calendar does not actually 'sync', though people tend to use the term as it looks as if they do. Like Apple IMAP mail or webmail, the calendars live on the server and are accessed by the various computers or devices you use directly. (By default a cached copy is kept on the computer so that you see it immediately and then updates come it as iCal reads the calendar, but for the purposes of setting things up you can ignore that.)
Under Snow Leopard, when you upgrade the calendar at http://me.com/calendar , all your existing calendars are moved to MobileMe. They appear in the sidebar under your MobileMe login name. You can still have local calendars on your Mac, under 'On My Mac', but these obviously will not be available to other computers: and the original calendars, having been moved to MobileMe, should have been deleted. The transfer can take some time if you have large calendars, during which some or all of your entries will not be visible.
If you go to iCal>Preferences>Accounts you should see your MobileMe account listed on the left. The username and password should have been filled in automatically, and 'Refresh calendars' should be set to 'Push'. (Leopard users have to set this up manually but as you are on 10.6.7 you shouldn't have to.)
From your posts you appear to have been trying to enter details for this in System Preferences>MobileMe - you need only have your usual details there and iCal will pick them up. Are you getting other MobileMe facilities - for example, can you mount your iDisk on the Desktop (command-shift-i, assuming you haven't turned iDisk syncing on).
Note that transfer of data beetwen MobileMe and iCal takes place only when iCal is running, unlike before, so you should not close iCal at any time that the rotating icon in the sidebar is present.
If you check through all the above but still can't get iCal to work do post back: however if it's that bad you may need the services of MobileMe Support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com . Click on 'More Products & Services' in the left column, then when the centre column populates click on 'MobileMe'. Choose a category in the third column and click 'Continue'. In the page which opens select a category and add a description of your problem. Click 'Continue' to be led through support options. -
Regarding Pages: I was writing using the app Pages when I left the page I was writting on but now I can't access it at all. I have tried to send the document to my email, I've tried to make a copy but nothing seems to work. The document still exists and I can see my writting as I can with all other documents but I can't open that page.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Connect the iPad to your computer and try to get the document via File sharing
- Try getting the document from iCloud.com if you are using iCloud -

Hot links no longer work. When I click on them, nothing at all happens. what do I do to fix this problem?
That is just a link to what is already on this website. I don't know what any of that stuff MEANS. Tell me what to click on in my computer, if you know. I THINK it has Windows 8.1 but don't know how to tell. I was nagged into installing 8.1 and didn't like it and tried to uninstall it but I think it is still there. The hyperlinks were still working long after that. Now, suddenly, google chrome doesn't work, hyperlinks in emails (only) don't work. I don't know how to "reset" anything. This was working fine; now it isn't. I didn't do anything different, and every time I get a message it directs me to click on a hot link and my problem is that hotlinks in my e-mails are NOT WORKING!!! HELP!!!

You should not see anything labeled iCloud in Windows Explorer. -
I have tried all sugestions for how to charge my ipad 2 that no longer charges, and nothing seems to work, can anyone offer any new advise?
While both the iPhone and the iPad use an Apple dock cable for charging, the iPad wants a 1100 mA charger, and the iPhone charger's a 500 mA charger. USB ports on newer Apple computers can switch into 1100 mA mode, but your average computer is going to put out no more than 500 mA and, possibly, quite less (for example, an un-powered USB hub will only put out 100 mA or so, and an iPad won't charge off that). The iPad will say "not charging" if it is trickle-charging (receiving less than 1000 mA of power).
If the problem persists when using the 1100 mA iPad charger, you need to take it to an Apple store and have it serviced or replaced. Bring the iPad charger that you received with the iPad as it may be that the charger is defective and not putting out 1100 mA.
If the problem is that it charges slow because it's being connected to iPhone chargers or PCs or older Macs, then it's not a problem with the iPad. It's charging, it just takes a long time because you are using an under-powered charger. -
I have been working on a Christmas Video and all of a sudden iMovie got really slow and wouldn' let me edit or play the video. I restarted it a few times now and nothing seems to work. What do i do?
Which version of iMovie are you using and what mac do you have?

iPad2 is dead...worked fine, then when I tried to use it an hour later, the screen was black. Home button did nothing; on/off button did nothing. Tried charging overnight...still does nothing at all. Also tried syncing with my desktop; still nothing. Got it in March and have never had an issue before this. Thanks.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Should I use a network switch and plug my Yamaha A/V receiver and Yamaha DVD into it, then into the wireless router? Then the net into the routers net port???
HT4199 I have a Netgear R6300 wireless router and a Yamaha RX-3020 A/V receiver. An app is available to run on an Ipad. I have to reboot every morning to get it all working. Can I just plug cat6 between them, when I do nothing works, please help

Mac and iPad connect to wifi, iPhone will not. I have tried all resets besides the "erase all contents and settings" and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Hi. I tried to upload photos to Facebook from iPhoto yesterday and each time I try, Safari freezes and I have to force quit, and finder also freezes. This was all working fine a week ago and I have done nothing that I know of to the PC. Thanks

New update are listed on the app icon. When I click update all I'm prompted to enter password. When I do, the progress bars go away and nothing gets updated. Tried logging out, reset iPad, and nothing seems to work. Keeps asking me to enter password.
I've been having the same problem for days and just solved it. Tried going to Apple ID and had all the same problems you did in the second paragraph. I signed out with my current username on the ipad under settings--->store and signed back in with my oldest apple id and password. Now the apps don't ask for a password to upgrade. I too had a username that wasn't an email address and had to change to one that was at some point. That's what caused the problems. Hope this can work for you.

Is it a common occurance for an iPad 4th gen to just blank out and stop working? The screen shows nothing at all, no sounds but it registers on my computer when connected.
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -
I'm still struggling with being able to sync ipad3 and iphone 4s to itunes after upgrading software to ios 6. I've gone through all the recommendations by Apple and suggestions from other forums and nothing seems to work. Help!!!!!
Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call? You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.
