Nothing fits into my MSI ti4200 S-video port !!!

I love my ti4200, but I'm pissed off that the S-video cable that came with the card does not even fit into the S-video port at the back of the card.
It looks like it should fit, but I put as hard as I can and it does not go in.  I know it's not upside down either.
I have another S-video cable I bought from radioshack, and that doesn't fit either.
I've heard about some S-video converter?  It this something I'm missing?

Ok there... I dunno if you have the similiar card as mine as you didn't state you model of your card...
Well mine is also a Ti-4200TD 4x card model MS 8870...
There are actually two different S-Video Composite cables that comes together with the cards...
Cable 1: Short cable with 1 black RCA out head and 2 yellow RCA in head for TV-In and S-video In... (This is the one that you'll use to connect from the AGP card out... and later connect two the following cable 2.
Cable 2: Long cable with 1 black RCA head at each end. This is the one that you'll hook up with the cable 1 after cable 1 is hooked up to your card...
If you find that both or all the cables that I've mentioned can't be found in your bundle, or that practicaly none of the cables provided in the box has the right head for your VGA card, I supposed that it's time to return to your dealer and exchange for a new set which has the correct bundle...
All the Best... :D !!!

  • Video not fitting into preview window

    Hello,
I have been running into a problem that I have not had untill I restored my computer a few months back. To start off I know my video files are in 720p and I have the sequence setting set accordingly. When I place the video files into the "Source" the full video is shown. However, Once the video is brought onto the timeline the preview window shows it much more expanded tot he point where only the very middle of the video can be seen. I have gotten around this in the past by dragging the corners in and copying the scale to every individual clip but it has become extreemly monotonous.
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Thank you
the atttached screenshot shows the problem

To start off I know my video files are in 720p and I have the sequence setting set accordingly.
No, they're not. They're 1440x1080; you can see that in the project panel. Functionally, they're 1920x1080 since they're HDV. So, you should be using a 1080i/p sequence preset... or you can use a 720p preset, but you'll have to scale the footage down to fit.
A quick way to create a sequence that matches your footage is to drag a clip to the New Item button at the bottom of the Project panel; it looks like the dog-eared sheet of paper.
If you want to use a 720p sequence, select all the clips and use the right-click > Scale to Frame Size option; optionally, you can manually scale one clip, and then copy and paste the Motion effect to all the other clips.

  • HELP MSI TI4200 8x not working

I am currently using a P4 1.6 with ASUS P4S333 and just bought  MSI Ti4200 8x 128 MB VTD and it  is not working at all on this mobo. I reinstall my ASUS GF 3 Ti200 and it works......
I did took the new MSI Ti4200 8x and install it into my old Celeron 533Mhz on a MSI mobo and it works ....means my graphic card is working .....
ANy idea how to get this MSI Ti4200 to work on my P4S333 ???

Thanks for post.  I've tried the KDS monitor over to the DVI connector but it still doesn't work.  In addition, I have tried my old monitor on the DVI connector and it works.   I have checked the pins and they are not bent or damaged.
Is there a such thing as compatibility issue with the KDS and MSI video card?  Please help, anyone with any other advice or ideas?  Thanks.

  • GF4 Ti4200/Vivo - Video capture pauses

    Hi All,
Did a search and could not find anything on this topic.
When capturing video from S-Video input, the video is not smooth.  Getting momentary 'pauses' that leads to very jerky video on playback.  I've checked the 'smooth video' option, but to no avail.
    System specs:
    MSI (oem'd Medion) MS-8889 GF4 TI4200 128MB Video card
    P4 2.66 CPU
    768M PC2700 DDR
    120GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM ATA133
Original Shipped drivers for Video and WDM Capture (30.30 Video and 1.1 WDM)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    TIA,
    SteveK

Well, I tried capturing with Virtualdub and it works much better (no pauses or stutters).  But there is a fairly large number of dropped frames (about 20% dropped).
I've taken all of the standard steps to avoid dropped frames....no network access (no netowrk plugged in), no TSRs running, no antivirus, running with DMA enabled, hard disk is de-fragged (although I am running with a single hdd partitioned into 3 logical drives.  CPU is a P4-2.66Mhz, so there's plenty of horsepower.  The video card is an MSI-8889 (GF4 TI4200 8x w/128MB) ViVo. O/S is XP.  Mobo is an MSI-6701 (SiS Chipset).
I believe the Vivo is stricly software capture, so the results are directly related to the software used for capture.
Can anyone recommend (or use) another capture product for this type of card (with good results)?
    TIA,
    SteveK

  • Overheating and Lock ups with MSI TI4200 128DDR

This card seems to overheat and lock up during game play.
      Does anyone have a solution?
    My system:
    P4 1.8Ghz 512K
    Intel D845WNL
    512 Mb PC133
    SB Live 5.1
    MSI TI4200 128DDR
    WIN 98SE
    300W PSU in a standard P4 case
    No overclocking
Currently I play games with the case open and an external fan blowing into it.
    This as fixed the problem.
I looking for a permanent solution.
Should I get a better PSU?
...or should I just get an ATI 9700 Pro

From what you said your PSU is handling the load but having a dual fan PSU will help temps by maybe a degree or two.
You may not have adequate ventilation and need to ad some fans to your case but that may be the straw that breaks the camels back if you are on the edge as far as adequate power is concerned.
There are quite a few folks that run with the side covers off but you have to keep in mind the ambient temperature where the PC is being used in any case.
So far my experience with GF4 cards is they inherently run hot and can raise the temp in your case several degrees. Nature of the beast.
Bottom line, better cooling and airflow is paramount and take a look at the heatsink, it may have been mounted poorly...this happens with any manufacturer at times and I usually re-mount it with a thermal paste of my preference. Keep in mind you will probably void your warranty with the manufacturer should you need to return or RMA the product.

  • Kensington Security Locks don't Fit into Kensington Security Slot

Hello all, I'm just about to go back to college and I have this new MBP. Considering my dorm is in an uptown manhattan brownstone, I'm kinda worried about my MBP's security. So I decided to use a cable lock as a mild theft deterrent when I leave to shower, etc. But the problem is, after all the Kensington security cables I've tried, none would fit, even though on the MBP's specs page, it says "Kensington cable lock slot" for security.
As you can read in these reviews, it seems that many people w/ MBPs can't get their cable locks to work:
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?spart=T7229LL%2FA#re v
I have tried their keyed and combo locks, as well as trying a display port screw lock (but due to the design of the MBP's DVI port, the screw lock cannot mount), to no avail. Nothing will work.
So besides from ordering a locked down metal case or a safe (which will be quite tedious every time I need to go somewhere), what should I do? (And yes, I will have the software anti-theft things installed)

No, the lock comes with three seperate spacers that fit around the head of the lock where it fits into the computer, thus preventing the lock from moving on the computer and scratching the casing. The lock also included a 'base plate' which allows you to screw it into a desk, table, wall etc. if you have nothing that you could securely put the cable around.

  • MSI Ti4200 128MB card availability

My son's friend is building a system very close to the same as mine and he has most of the parts now that he bought from NewEgg. The problem is that he wants to use the MSI Ti4200 video card that I have but he can't seem to locate one.
Has MSI stopped producing these video cards or is the demand so great that nobody has any? I haven't even been able to locate many of them from Price Watch or other search engines either.
Any ideas where he can get one would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mike

  • How can I make picture fit into screen

There's a picture on the Internet that I want to print, but it's slightly too tall to fit into my screen. I've tried changing the resolution. I've also gone to Apple>System Preferences>Displays>Geometry, but nothing there does the job. If I could rotate the image 90 degrees, I believe I could get the ENTIRE image on my screen, but the Rotate button only makes the picture tilt slightly. The Height adjustment doesn't help, either.
Is there a way to rotate the picture 90 degrees, or is there any other way get the picture to fit into my screen? Yes, I've also dragged (stretched-out) the picture as far as I could.

There's a picture on the Internet that I want to
print, but it's slightly too tall to fit into my
    screen...
The answer to your question depends a several things.
Changing the screen resolution or "geometry" does
not change how something is printed. So is your
question the right question. Are you trying to make
it "fit into your screen"? Or are you trying to
make it print on a single sheet of paper?
NOTE: If the goal is to fit it on the screen, there
are many ways you can do that. Maybe the easiest is
to select Print in whatever program you are using to
see the image. In the Print dialog window, click the
Save as PDF... button. This will allow you to save
the page printout as a PDF file. Double-clicking on
the file should open it in Preview app. In Preview,
you can adjust the "magnification" to make it all fit
    on your screen.
Thanks for the almost instantaneous reply. I've copied it because it contains useful information that I might need in the future; for now, however, I somehow managed to stumble into a solution while waiting for a reply. Oh, now I realize where I had gone wrong, and why I was finally succesful. At first, I tried to copy the screen by using the COMMANDSHIFT4. And, as you know, when using this system, you can only print what is on the screen. Later, well, I'm already a little fuzzy on what I did, but I didn't use the "Screen Capture" method. Thanks, again.

  • Can a pcie-1x sound card fit into the third pcie-8x slot of P7N Platinium ?

can a pcie-x1 sound card fit into the third pcie-x8 slot of P7N Platinium (indicated by the green arrow in the pic below) ?
what is the intended usage or practical usage for that 3rd slot?
Also, kindly enquire if 3 ways SLI really feasible and any driver is released and tested to support it?
    My rig specification are as follow: 1)msi p7n sli platinium, 2)intel e8400 stock cooler, 3) 2x 2GB Crucial Ballistix  DDR2 800, 4)2x msi 8800gt oc 512mb  5) acbel M8 750 6) Samsung 160gb hdd 7) Asus DRW.
thank you. i do like this motherboard, very nice layout and the circu-pipe in particular. lack of sata ports has been compensated by purchasing a 4 sata ports controller card. if the third pcie x8 is a pcie x1 slot, that will be even better.

    Yes you can
great to hear that. like that, i can consider buying the Asustek Xonar D2X Audio Card PCI-E as the green indicated pcie x8 is my only unoccupied slot after using 2  gfxs (2 slots) and 1 sata controller pci card.
    thank for your prompt reply.
    cheers.

  • Grub error 28: selected item cannot fit into memory

I installed arch, systemrescuecd, and trinity rescue kit on a usb stick. I used the mbr arch installed, grub 0.97, and edited the menu.lst to boot all os'es on the usb.
SystemRescueCD provides an os with all kinds of "rescue" tools, but also other tools like GAG(gag.sourceforge.net/index.html), Memtest86, FreeDos etc, which can be booted from the bootloader.
But, when I try to boot GAG, Memtest86, or FreeDos, grub gives me an error saying "error 28: selected item cannot fit into memory". According to grub, my lower memory is 630K, and my upper memory is about 3.4GiB. The GAG "kernel", is 24.7 kb, and the GAG initrd is 267.8 kb.
This is not really arch related, I know, but still, if you can help me, I'd be very thankful. Google doesn't seem to help me on this one.

    Hello again,
i tried with Solaris 10 5/08 on VMware ESX 3.5 and VMware Server 2, both failed. I tried several ISO images, mounted as ISO or DVD, altered BIOS parameters in VMware ESX, but nothing works for me.
VMs where created with 1024mb RAM and 8GB disk space, more than recommended.VMware seems to be more successful with installing Solaris10:
    http://pubs.vmware.com/guestnotes/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=guestnotes&file=choose_install_guest_os.html#3888649
It seems to be a problem of GRUB in Solaris 10 5/08, but i don't know how to solve it. Every idea might be a great help for me.

  • All of a sudden my cord won't fit into my iPhone 5

My iPhone 5 cord won't fit into the phone.  I am trying to charge it and it feels like the phone won't let the cord go in all the way.  It kind of pushes it out.  Any thoughts, suggestions?  Yes, I am using genuine Apple products - no cheap imitations.  I have also tried using my son's cord to see if it was the cord - but it appears to be the phone.

Unfortunately my phone is only 2 days old, and since I have only used it in my home, it cannot be already be dirty or damaged. Plus the nearest apple store is about 50 miles away. It was plugged in this morning, so WTH. I am very upset about this, espescially since the phone is so new. Could someone send me a link to a video, showing me the proper way the cord goes in. Perhaps I am doing it wrong, but I tried it wt the B & lightening bolt, both up and down. I also do not have apple care, so a phone call would cost me. Does anyone, have any ideas.

  • Core i7 920 WILL NOT FIT into X58 pro-e

Hi guys, sorry for the n00b post
I'm trying to install a core i7 920 into an MSI x58 pro-e.  for some reason, the CPU won't fit inside the housing, the hinge won't close all the way.  I installed it the only way it's able to go in; by aligning the 2 grooves
It seems like the "fins" at the side of the CPU bracket that rest on the top of the processor are what's keeping it elevated. I can't figure out the problem here. It looks like it's set correctly and I have it perfectly aligned, but I can't close the CPU bar more than halfway. I don't want to put any pressure on it because I don't want to bend the board's pins.
Any help here would be great.

I don't want to put any pressure on it
You will  neet to apply a little pressure, otherwise you won't be able to close the lid.
If you really can't do it on your own, please ask in a computer shop for help.

  • I need a dockable skin that fits into portable speaker unit (MM50)

    Hi folks,
Ive currently got a ZSkin for my 30G iPod video. Its great but it doesnt properly fit into the iPod dock. I have kind of butchered the dock so it fits. Also the skinned iPod will not fit into my new Logitech Portable Speaker unit! You know the iPod should slide between the speakers and dock, it wont with the skin on.
I dont want to risk scratching the unit by constantly removing the skin so can anyone recommend a thin skin for it?
I have heard the iSkin Evo3 fits into the dock so will it fit my Logitech?
    Can you recommend a skin?
How do you protect your iPod and still dock it ect?
    Tc

GelaSkins, a Toronto based iPod skin company makes ultra-low profile, artist designed skins that will fit with virtually any accessory. You can protect your iPod from scratches without adding the bulk of other cases. No problem to use them with the iTrip or Dock connector, or even under a bulkier case if you are going to subject the iPod to serious abuse. Every skin comes with a great screen protector too. Crystal clear and bubble-free.
I am an employee of GelaSkins, and I am obligated to share this with you as discussed in the Appple Discussions agreement. However, by looking up GelaSkins in any search engine you will find several independent review sites that can confirm my post.
Hope you find the iPod protection you're looking for...
