Hi Chefd,
The USB port is not replaceable. I am glad to hear you have gotten it installed. If you have issues with connectivity you may want to consider buying a newer printer. Have a good day

  • I've downloaded iTunes on this computer but now nothing happens when I plug my phone in the USB port.

I had a software update on my phone and tapped it to start the update then decided to cancel it. Now it will not let me back in my phone and has a picture that is telling me to plug into iTunes. I had to download iTunes on this computer first because it wasnt on this computer. It has downloaded, but nothing happens when i plug my phone up to the USB port in my computer. The picture telling me to plug into iTunes is still on my phone.

Try carefully following the steps outlined in this Apple support document to put your iPad into recovery mode.

I got a usb charger for my 4th gen Ipod touch that at first allowed my to charge and transfer music from my laptop to the Ipod now nothing happens when I plug the usb cord and Ipod into my laptop. Its mac so it is an apple system. I am wondering how I can fix this problem I am not very good with techy stuff so this is very confusing how it was working and it just stopped.

    Hi johnsmiff99,
That is never fun when your iPod touch does not show up on your Mac. Take a look at the article below to walk you through on getting it to show back up on your iTunes. It is very easy to read so you wont feel overwhelmed with to much techy jargon. Let me know if you get this worked out.

  • PC shuts down when I plug the iPod USB cable in :(

    Hi,
I have just bought an iPod Nano 8GB. Downloaded the latest version of iTunes and installed. Then as soon as plugged the USB cable into the PC it shut down instantly. I had to wait a good 5 minutes when before it would boot back up again. I have tried the front and rear USB port... but to no avail
I running Windows Vista and my PC spec is as follows:
AMD Athlon X2 4600 Dual Core
    2GB Corsiar RAM
    256MB GeForce 7600GS
    320GB SATA II HDD
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum with Nvidia nForce 3 Ultra Chipset (motherboard)
The USB ports are all 2.0 compatible.
    My PSU is 400W.
I have 3 USB devices plugged in the rear and nothing in the front. Devices connected are:
    Keyboard
    Printer
    Scanner
I am sort of guessing the iPod USB cable is causing a surge of some sort, but I might be wrong.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be... and to fix it please?
    Many thanks,
    Gazza.

Have you tried to use a different USB port on the PC?
Does the same thing happen when you plug in a different USB device?
Try a restart of the PRE and try again. Go to device info, reset options and select restart. Try again and see if you get the same error.
When you get the Blue Screen Of Death in Windows, it ususally means that Windows has a problem and needs to be reinstalled.
You could try to re-insall the usb drivers for your PC and see if that may resolve the BSOD error. You may need to contact the PC manufacturer for assistance in re-installing the USB drivers.

  • HP VT501AA USB Stereo Headset nothing happens when I plug them in

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP s3712f desktop.
    My sister's computer.
She bought this headset a while back and could never get it to work.  I thought I'd give it another try.
When you insert it into the USB port nothing happens and I can find no mention of the device anywhere in the system.  It's like the computer doesn't recognize that it's been plugged in or maybe I need a driver (hp doesn't have any on their site though, I've checked).
Anyway, if snyone knows how I might fix this it would be appreciated.  It's not a huge concern but it bugs me that it doesn't work.  If nothing else I could use the thing at work.

    tcrowe30,
What model HP PC are you using?
    Gadgetgal,
It might be a setting in the Realtek HD Audio Manager or perhaps you need a driver update.  Go to www.realtek.com for the latest audio driver.
BTW, I have the 2159 connected via HDMI and when I plugin my headset the speakers go silent.

  • Nothing happens when I plug my Ipod in...?

My first Ipod touch broke the other day so I went to the Apple store today and had it replaced. They said whenever I get home just plug it in to the computer and it should sync fine..I did so, nothing happened. After I already had Itunes up I plugged in my ipod and it made that noise it makes whenever you plug it in then nothing happened at all. I tried going under file and syncing Ipod and it won't let me click on the sync ipod link. I have no idea whats wrong. I know my itunes account is activated under a different email address than the one I gave them at my store when they gave me my knew one because I just recently got a new email. I tried changing my email under my itunes account and it said it changed but when I went on again to try it was still the same old email. I really don't think the email thing has anything to do with it but I can't figure out why it won't sync at all. Help please!

  • HT1476 How do I get my iPhone 5 charger to charge my phone? Nothing happens when i plug it in.

My Iphone 5 won't charge when i plug it in, there is no message to say it isn't recognised or anything it just won't charge. I replaced my charger and am still having the same problem, could someone please help me.

    Hi Luci,
If the iPhone that you are attempting to charge has the battery completely deleted of all charge it will take a period of time before the charge that is coming from the charging source gives the device enough charge to the device such that the display is able to then display that the charger is charging sucessfully. If you plug the device into a charger (again if the device is completely drained of battery charge) and it doesn't immedateily show that it's chraging that is completely consistent with how the device is expected to work. Please allow the device to charge for a period of at least a couple of hours before determining that the charger isn't working correctly. Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

  • Mac is restarting by itself when I plug in a USB cable

I have an Actisys IR computer link that includes a USB cable and the IR reading head that is used to connect to my daughter's Animas One Touch Ping diabetes pump.  It has worked fine for over a year and this week when we go to transfer data from the pump to the program on our Mac it is not reading the pump.  So when you unplug the USB cable and plug it back it, the computer immediately starts to restart.  Tried it multiple times on multiple days and I have no idea why this would affect the Mac and cause it to restart.  Any ideas?

    Try resetting the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

  • HT4528 I was using my phone, set it on my bed for maybe ten minutes, went to use it again and the screen was black and it was unresponsive. Nothing happens when I plug it in, I tried a soft reset and nothing happened either. Is there anything I can do?

a friend of mine said this happened to her, and apple told her to leave it plugged in for a while. I've already had it plugged in for several hours and nothing has happened. I haven't been able to get to apple yet but I was wondering if there was anything I hadn't tried yet?

  • Nothing happening when I plug nano in for the first time- no "source" tab

I have a 2nd generation 4GB nano, brand new. I used to have a 20GB ipod, hard drive crashed. So I have updated my itunes to 7.0, and charged my nano on a wall outlet.
I plugged the nano in, with the itunes open, and nothing has happened (it's been over an hour). I've read discussions, everyone keeps referencing "choose nano in the source panel"--I do not have any "source" panel or button on my itunes. The nano screen just says "do not disconnect."
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Sue

Are you saying that the nano does not show in iTunes? The source panel is always there....it's the panel on the left hand side of iTunes that allows you to look at created playlists (Recently played, music, videos, podcasts, etc). In that area you should see the nano (whatever you named it or it may just say "iPod"). If you don't then go to the Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" utility (it may be open in the area at the far bottom right of your computer screen where the time is. It is an icon with a green arrow pointing left and slightly down in case you are not familiar with it). You can "eject" your iPod using that (click on stop and then another box should open. Click on the iPod labeled drive listed and then click the ok button). Then restart iTunes and reconnect your ipod.

Try disabling a/v software and turning off the Firewall on your PC.
    Disable antivirus software
    Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    Then try syncing your iPod.

  • My computer basically ignores my iPod Nano 5th generation when I plug in the USB cable.

My iPod is always fully charged when I try to plug it in and I have the latest iTunes installed. My computer gives me nothing, not an error or a pop-up. Nothing. My iPod seems to be charging when plugged in, but even when my iPod stops charging, my computer does nothing. I cannot add music, books, videos, nothing. I've tried resetting both my computer and my iPod, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, putting the iPod into "Disk Mode", but nothing seems to work. I really am at a lost at what to do from this point. If you could help that would be most appreciated.

Alright, guys, I found a solution! Hurray! I bought a new USB cord/cable and it works perfect now. So YAY!
