Nothing higher than firefox 4 will run on XP

ive got a windows xp machine with sp3 running fine after a reimage ( my work laptop )
it originally had 3.x version on which i removed and installed 11 and it wont run
by elimination, the only version working on it is 4.0, any version higher does not start.. it shows up in task manager then vanishes
im at a lost as i need to have the latest version on my machine to test issues on websites.

Ok, well let's try a few things here to get firefox 11 working on your computer:
Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].

If these don't work, would you mind giving me a few more details? Like, do you get an error message, what security software are you running, etc.

Nothing higher than iTunes 9.0 will install on my computer!

So I have a new iPhone 4G and I have been trying to install iTunes 9.2. I had iTunes 9.0 for a long time. Initially I tried to run the auto-updater, however this failed to upgrade. Then I downloaded the installer manually and tried to run it. This also fails far along in the process. The iTunes & Quicktime box pops up and runs through the installation steps and then the green status bar suddenly changes to "Status: Rolling Back Action". I have tried uninstallating iTunes and all apple products using the apple provided support guides. I went through them all in order, and deleted the proper folders to verify they were removed. This has not been successful. I was able to successfully install 9.0 after the complete uninstall, from an executable I was able to find online. I tried iTunes v 9.1 to get another data point and this also failed to install, so we can assume it's somethign to do with versions of iTunes that are greater than 9.0. So who knows what was done in 9.1 that would cause a subtle conflict that would be hard to catch?
I recently went and ran all of my latest windows updates and had no problems here. After installing them, I restarted and tried again and iTunes 9.2 still fails to install. I checked all of the registry keys I could think of and nothing worked. I went through msconfig and disabled all services that I thought could possibly be causing a conflict with the installer and still failed. I always get this same result where the installation rolls back and when I click next it tells me the installation failed due to encountering some unexpected error. I have administrator privileges and even right clicked and ran the installer as the administrator. I'm completely out of ideas and need some help on this one. I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit, using the 64 bit installer. I've also tried downloading it several times, and from different sources. I highly doubt it's corrupted.

I can't really tell. It scrolls very quickly through it's status. Can only make out that it's copying files, registering things, validating parts of the installation, removing old files, then suddenly "rolling back action". I don't think it's the apple mobile device support part though. I have winrar on my computer and took a look inside the exe after I had all these issues and saw all the separate .msi installers. Individually they all seem to install, except for the iTunes.msi.

I downloaded by accident a later version of firefox than my Mac will run - 4.0.1. How can I get the older version back?

I have a Mac OS 10.4.11. I had a glitch while I was trying to register to a new WordPress and that site sent me to Firefox and told me to download. Before checking compatibility with my operating system, I download and put it in my applications folder. When I tried to open Firefox, I got a message saying 4.0.1 wasn't compatible with my computer.

Installed anfy java 2. free download. Previewing an aplet -will not run in FireFox but will run with I.E. . i have win 7 home.

Cannot run camtasia studio 6 in firefox but will run in IE and Chrome.

I am trying to view a camtasia studio 6 video file and it will not run. It runs fine in IE and Chrome!

I did not think that it was Google, so I created a stripped-down version of the page, removing all scripts, Google and mine. The Google interface just selects a spot on the map. My script converts this to a UK Grid reference which is then fed to the form. In the stripped down version, the form is given a typical value.
The form will still will not perform as per spec, neither on my PC nor on my server.

Although the program installs but fails to run on the HDX so I'm afraid this answer is wrong. The HDX is the most recent release from Kindle(Amazon) the Settings are totally different. The hardware is also different. Please make sure answers are more up to date.

If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

Firefox 5 will not launch. Error message "Another instance of Firefox is running" is generated every time

After updating to Firefox 5, on Windows XP machine, Firefox will not launch at all. No matter what I try, I just get the same error message, than Firefox is already running. Even after double checking task Manager, and ensuring that this is not true, as soon as I click to launch it again, the same message pops up. Everything worked well until I updated to version 5.

OK, for anyone else dealing with this type of issue, the fix is simple: Install the Creative Cloud desktop app if you haven't. Click on Apps, filter apps by "previous version" and boom, legacy apps. Easy.

When I update from 3.0 up, firefox won't run.

I am running on 3.0 because anything higher than that won't run. Every time I try to run I get the chrome registration error even though all the extensions are disabled. Use to run good until I upgraded to the latest version of firefox.

The last version that runs on OS X 10.3.9 is Firefox 2.0.0.20
Firefox 3 upwards require OS X 10.4, and Firefox 4 will require OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
