Nothing is syncing on my itouch

I went to sync my ipod and it said there was an error and had to restore my itouch. So i did. And when i went to sync it again. NOTHING WAS THERE. No music, apps, nothing. I restored again and synced, again, and nothing. I restarted my ipod, tried syncing one song, and restored it again. This is really ******* me off. What should i try?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Does the car system manufacturer say it will work with your model iPod and it iOS?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT1386 i have an old i touch. it's full and won't sync at all. how can i choose only the cd's i want from itunes on my desk top to sync into the itouch? if i just plug it in it just tells me it's full leaving my old music in place. is there a way?

how can i (if i evan can) select only certain cd's stored in my itunes to sync into my itouch. right now i have too much music loaded into my itunes - desktop and when i try to sync my 16gb itouch it just tells me it can not sync because there is not enough space and i realize that. can i pick and choose from my desktop what i want going into my itouch?  help would be wonderful and i would need pretty detailed info for a guy like me to get it done - thanks

With the iPod connected to the computer go to the Music pane for the iPod in iTunes and check the box that says sync only checked songs. The check the songs you want synced and click on Sync. For more info see:

  • My Firefox Sync is set on 2 unit, but nothing is syncing

The Mozilla Support instructions state that one needs to be on the new version of Sync in order for devices to share information with each other. I already have the latest versions of Firefox (33.1.1) on both my Origin Laptop and my Surface Pro 3 (both with Windows 8.1), but there is no syncing, i.e., no movement of bookmarks, folders, etc. when managing same on either unit. Please let me know specifically what needs to be done get each unit to sync with each other. Thank you.

Accessing that link was the first action I took. The first item in that link (I set up Firefox Sync but nothing is syncing) is the issue. Please read my first sentence of my original question. I cited the instructions contained in that first item (I set up Firefox Sync but nothing is syncing) in that I already have the latest versions (33.1.1) of Firefox on both my devices. (The instructions state that both devices need to be on the new version of Sync in order to share information with each other). I presume that since I have the latest versions of Firefox on both devices, I also have the latest versions of Sync.

    4. Click sync.

  • Hi I lost my stuff from iTunes after I synced with my iTouch

Hi, I don't know if anyone else may have experienced this problem but I lost all my content from iTunes after I synced with my iTouch, but I had a message saying that my iTouch was authorized from a different user but I authorized it on my account but when it synced, I had lost all my music, videos, and apps that I had in my iTunes library. I have all my stuff in my iTouch. All of my content are still in the iTunes folder, but I see the XML document of the iTunes Library (where all my information is), and 7 Temp. Files in the iTunes folder as well. Is there a way to get all of my content back in place?
    Thanks,
    Jose

Syncing an iDevice with a computer does not cause the content on the computer to disappear.
Was there actually content in the iTunes library prior to syncing?
Are the files still on the computer?
In the iTunes folder, are there multiple iTunesLibrary.itl files, like an old copy(ies)?

  • Certain songs wont sync to my itouch

    Itouch 5
    Windows 7
A couple months ago, I updated my Itouch 5 to IOS 7. I noticed that all the songs that were unchecked were on my itouch. Thinking that maybe I had accidently checked them all again, I didnt see it as a big deal. Two weeks ago, I imported a few songs from some CD's onto my itunes. After seeing it was done syncing, I disconnected it and noticed that none of the songs I imported were there. So I tried syncing again but it didnt work (I have itunes automatically update and sync any songs to my ipod when connected). When it didnt sync I decided to just leave it alone for a couple days and wait until the next time I downloaded a song. A week later, I purchased a song on itunes. I checked to see if it was on recently added like it normally does but it wasnt there. I checked 'Songs' and surprisingly enough it was there. Then today, I went to try to sync my ipod again but nothing happened. Nothing imported to my itouch. And all the songs that I thought I must've checked.....were still unchecked just like I left them. I have tried closing itunes and then opening it again. I've also tried restarting my itouch. Could it possibly be that maybe my wire is worn out and just not working anymore? Or did updating the IOS change something?

Do the songs play in iTunes?

  • Syncing Two iPods/iTouch/iPhone on One Computer

Can iTunes sync on a single computer sync more than one device?
If I keep the old, deactivated iPhone as an iPod/iTouch, can I sync it one the same computer as my new iPhone 3GS? Will iTunes recognize that each has a unique sync protocol?

Although I'm not sure it's necessary, but it would be best if you gave each a unique name.
Ok, how do you give each a unique name?
I just got the 3gs and am giving the 3g to my wife. I got the 3gs working first and then I put her chip in the 3g, deleted the exchange email settings and most programs (leaving a few of the free programs I thought she might like). When I plugged the phone into the computer, iTunes started sycn (which I stopped immediately). I hunted for quite some time and couldn't see anyway to give this particular phone a new name.
    What have I missed?

  • How can i sync albums from ITouch to new computer?

My music Library is on my computer back home (Scotland), i am in Australia and want to get all my music on to laptop im using here.
If i sync it says it will only copy over items i have purchased from ITunes store and will clear my Itouch of the rest of my music.
Same goes if i copy CD's on to this computer, how can i get it on to the ITouch without losing the music i have on it already??
    Can anyone help??
    Kxx

Try one of the third-party utilities such as Floola or Senuti - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
iPod Touches are one way sync devices. You sync music TO the Touch, NOT FROM the Touch. By design an iPod device is not intended to be used for transferring data between computers. Third-party software such as mentioned above is intended to overcome this limitation but on a limited basis.
Unfortunately, your iTunes library folder in Scotland has everything you synced to your Touch. If you now try to sync from a different computer and your library is no longer present, iTunes will attempt to erase everything on the Touch assuming you intend to do a completely different library sync. Obviously this is not your intended result. With any luck you can re-create your iTunes library using the third-party software that's available. Hope you are successful.

  • I got an iPad (3) and set it up on my laptop (Windows 7) with my iPhone (4). The iTunes upgrade (before 6) crashed iTunes. I couldn't get iTunes to run again until upgraded to 6. Now nothing will sync. I have a small fraction of my apps. Help, please.

    Just a bit more.
According to my laptop, when I hook up my iPhone, either I hit an error of "user defined breakpoint" or it's having issues recognizing the iPad (when the iPhone is hooked up).
I've also tried installing iTunes on my work computer, but it won't recognize the phone unless I update iTunes. When I try to update, I get errors and iTunes crashes.
I'm worried because I haven't backed up my phone or pad in over 2 months and nothing I'm trying works.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Laura

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.
