Nothing new about material that Apple uses on iPod

Ok. I'm sick and tired of hearing people **** and moan about scratches on their iPod. If you want the greatest MP3 player on the planet, do yourself a favor and buy an iPod immediately. I've owned every iPod that has come out and they all scratch! Period. I remember the 1G iPod that I had purchased and put in a generic MP3 case by case logic (back then there were not 50 different companys making cases for the iPods) the case had some mesh pockets in it. After a day of taking it in and out of the case the mesh had scratched the front of it. NO BIG DEAL FOLKS. Apple's products are first and formost aesthetically pleasing. The Acrylic they use on the iPod is crystal clear and beautiful. It's like art work. The Smithsonian has one on display for hells sake. I've tried all cases, iSkins, Rhinos and now the invisible shield. They all scratch (no word on the invisible shield just yet). Something about physics I think. Friction? Anyway what I'm trying to say is yes Apple should use a little more durable material but you can bet that it wouldn't look as hot as it does. Steve Jobs once said that sex sales, and he wants his products to be sexy as ****. I say do you want a sexy item that you have to pamper, or do you want an ugly item that you can beat the **** out of. I'll take the look. Maybe I'm shallow......Just my two cents. Thanks for listening.

- Go to settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

There were no PowerBooks made in 2007. By then Apple had switched over to Intel and they were making MacBook instead.

After you set up your service use your repair ID to track your replacement here:

Remember: You will receive a replacement unit approximately 6 weeks after Apple gets your current iPod nano
    Hope this helps.

  • Capturing screen to movie – need tools that Apple use

I've seen this video tutorial about Leopard: http://www.apple.com/macosx/guidedtour/
pay attention to zoom-in and zoom-out effects. I need these effects in my video lessons too. What tool does Apple use? It's seems that it's not Snapz Pro. What can it be?

I am pretty sure that is done in the editing stages.
(bring screen capture in to final cut pro, and zoom / pan / etc.)

  • How do I set up a new user account that can use all my software?

I set up a new user account on my 3 year old BTO iMac running OS 10.8.5. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it, the computer thought none of my software was registered, activated, licensed, etc. With 26 GB of applications on this machine, it will be a colossal chore to re-do everything. Is there any way around this?
    Thanks for your time,
    Larry

Is your regular user an Admin?
Yes. So is the new account I tried to set up.
Are these apps installed in the main /Applications folder?
    Yes.
Are they App Store apps or installs from disc/download?
Both, but App Store purchases are a clear minority, and aren't much of a problem, due to the ease of re-downloading and activating. The downloaded programs are the ones that present the problems. I have not been good about archiving serial numbers and the like, mostly because I've never had a problem like this before.
What specific apps are you having trouble with? For instance, I know that MS Office and Adobe CS5 for perfectly well for all users on my MBP.
This is a very long list. Let me give you some of it, and if you really need all of them, I'll add to the list later.

Also, what troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
Not much, since I have no idea where the problem is. I looked for some central repository of software serial numbers or activations, but didn't find one.

  • Why does the "Move to new window" function that I used to use not work when I right click on the tab anymore?

It used to be when I right clicked on the tab in Firefox that I could use the "Move to new window" option. Now when I go down to that option it looks as though it is going to work, but nothing happens. The other day I changed a few options in Firefox, but I don't remember changing anything that sounded as though it would have this effect and now I can't find any options that seem to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Beorn, probably the problem is an extension that isn't working correct.'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    thank you

  • Memory leak issues persist in Safari 6.0.5 (it's about time that Apple actually fixed this)

Safari has been notorious for its memory leaks for years, as I'm sure many of you know. I stopped using Safari as my main browser in 2010 or so, and I instead began to use Chrome. However, I recently had to use Safari to access some webpages, and I neglected to quit out of it. A few hours later, my computer slowed to a complete crawl. I was confused, because my computer never slows down to such a crawl, so I went into Activity Monitor to find the 'Safari Web Content' process using all of my available RAM, which was nearly 6 GB. Needless to say, Safari was force quit after that. I've heard that some plugins will cause this, but Flash was my only active plugin. Flash is, indeed, a heaping pile of crap that will readily eat resources as it sees fit- but this never happens to me in Chrome, and I use Flash all of the time n Chrome. This was after it had been sitting idle for quite some time, and I imagine that it would have used more RAM if it could.

Using 6.0.5 here without any of those issues ...
Regardless of whether Flash is being used, from your Safari menu bar click Help > Installed Plug-ins.
Try troubleshooting extensions and third party plug-ins.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that off if there are any installed. Quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn extensions back on then uninstall one a time to test.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
my computer slowed to a complete crawl.
Checked to see exactly how much space is available ??
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
    Checked the startup disk lately?
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click:  Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.

  • What kind of material did apple used for the MacBook Pro rubber feet?

One of my MacBook feet is loose. Now I try to fix it by DIY. The exact materialname of the rubber is important, because then I can use the suitable glue.

If the name of the material is that important and not mentioned in the DIY, call Apple Care.

  • HI my name is Luca. I have heard about workshops that apple stores are offering on LOGIC PRO X. I live in london but unfortunately nobody offers such workshop anymore. Does anyone know about this?

    Hi
my name is Luca, I live in London.
Is there any workshop I can book for Logic Pro X?
Has Apple stopped to offer such workshops? It doesn tm appear to be on their list anymore..
Where can I find it? Who should I contact?
The store regent street referred me on their online workshop list being unaware that the logic workshop doesn t appear there.......mmm

Apple Stores are allowed to offer these workshops if and when they can. Some of them do, but not all of them.
The One To One program is excellent if you are looking to get trained on Logic at the Apple Store.

  • The third party software that Apple used to have on their website

For years, Apple had lots of third party software listed on their website. Now, it's gone without so much as a link or even a paragraph of text to find it.
Anyone know what they did with it and where I can find it?

Mike, I see it's answered... or is it?

    Hi Team,
The customer is looking for creating call wraps in contact center form using APIs.
I have tried searching for available APIs in call wraps, but could not find any.
Any pointers in finding out the required APIs would be really helpful.
    Regards,

We do not have any public api's for call wrap.
A series of steps are done under call wrap (create note, update activity, end interaction).

  • Why is it that Apple no longer offers games for the ipod classic?

I just purchased an ipod classic and i just realized that I can't find any games for download on itunes. I also have an ipod nano and I know that Apple used to offer games for ipods other than the touch. Now they act like the touch is the only ipod that exists. I'm starting to think i should just return the ipod and go with a different brand of Mp3. My family has been telling me to get a Cowon and now I'm starting to wish i'd listened.
Thanks a lot Apple. You might be getting this product back.

  • Getting rid of apple apps on Ipod touch 3rd gen??

is there any way of getting rid of the app that apple puts on ipod touch....ie reminders, newsstand, voice memos...etc. I have ipod 3rd gen and have no use for most of these.

There is no way to remove apps that are bundled with iOS.  The most you can do is place all of these apps into a folder of apps and move them to a page where you will not see them.
