Nothing on firefox is working

After updating my Firefox I have encountered a several problems.
1. When right clicking on the tab bar, and then clicking undo closed tab. Nothing happens. Firefox will also say I have no new closed tabs.
2. Firefox will also say that even tho a page is booked marked. It will not have the filled in blue star next to it. Even after I had just bookmarked it.
3. Firefox will not open my home page. I had it set to facebook, but firefox will open to a blank white screen, with the tab saying "New tab" Nothing else will happen.
4. the 3 bar menu button will not work. I can click on it all day long and it will never open. When downloading anything from the web. The download button will not light up blue and tell me it is downloading, or tell me anything is downloading for that matter.
5. firefox will also randomly freeze up for a few seconds and then work again normally.
It was working completely fine until the update. I love using firefox over any other web browser. I have used firefox for many many years since I can remember. Never liked anything else, and I'm now about to be forced to use google chrome because I can not get anything done using firefox will out getting frustrated and trying to figure out why it's not working.
PLEASE Do not tell me to restart firefox in safe mode. I have already done that.
I have also completely uninstalled firefox and deleted every folder off of my computer that has anything to do with firefox.
I have no add-ons any more, my book marks and history have been erased, and cleared. Firefox is now basically "first time" installed on my laptop.
Even after reinstalling it after deleting everything. These problems will keep happening. I have no idea what to do any more for this, and I'm about to just give up is there is no fixing it.

If the problem only started after you have updated perhaps you could try going back to an older version of Firefox

A link to install an older version of Firefox, however it mentions risks of using outdated versions

I am very frustrated with Firefox! I can load firefox fine in the morning, but after a short time it quits working & I get a Net Error message. I notice it most on Facebook! When I click like, it won't do nothing but sut there working, if open in a new tab, I get the net error message. I try to open other websites & get the net error message. I checked & I am running the latest version. I am running fine on IE, but I like Firefox! I've been using it for years with no problems, but after an update is when I started experiencing problems. I waited thinking, firefox will fix it with another update, but no fix! I am running Windows 7 on a Gateway computer & have had no problems with older versions of Firefox. I'm sending all this information via Internet Exployer since Firefox won't work!

• Firefox only works after I re-boot my computer

I just got a new computer last week. It is running Windows 8 - 64 bit. I installed Firefox, used it for a week, set up my bookmarks, etc. and it worked fine. The other day when I logged in and opened Firefox, I couldn't click on anything - nothing would happen - it was like it was frozen. I went into Internet Explorer and also into Google Chrome and they both worked fine - I could click on things and it would do what it was supposed to do. So, I re-booted my computer and then Firefox worked fine. Same thing the next day, Firefox only worked after I re-booted my computer...and also today, same thing. Why is it frozen when I first go into it, but if I re-boot the whole computer, it works? Has me baffled. Any help would be appreciated, because it is my favorite browser. But if this keeps up, I won't be using it anymore. Thank you!
I have my home page set to Yahoo, so that's where it goes when I open it. When I get there, I can't click on my e-mail, nothing in the toolbar, it's totally frozen.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
:
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

• How can I get Firefox to work?

I am unable to get Firefox to work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and created a new profile to no avail. When I open Firefox and type in a website address or attempt to complete a search, nothing happens. When entering a website, it just disappears, Please help!

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• On my older MAC, Firefox stopped working on my wife's username but it works fine on my username

using MAC OS10.6.8
When she clicks on Firefox in the dock or in the Finder nothing happens ... there is no Firefox (Safari works fine though). This just started ... we've both been using Firefox for many years.
When I log-in, I can click on Firefox in my dock (or in the Finder) and Firefox starts right up.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

• Garageband video podcast shows up with a QT logo ? in Safari, and nothing in Firefox.  Tried with .mov and m4v.  Looked at a lot of discussions and no answers.

Went from iMovie 11, then to Garage band, made the podcast, then went to iweb.  Uploaded and nothing in firefox, and in Safari I get the good old quicktime logo with a ?.  Tried the put the movie in a textbox trick.  No dice.  I don't understand code.  I just use the darn thing and can usually figure things out by looking at discussions but I'm coming up flat on this one.  Have used iweb for three or four years.  This "should" work but can't get it to work, have tried switching out the podcast with different formats and nothing.  Any ideas are appreciated.  10.6.8

The first thing you should do is clean up the movie file name by taking out the space and the apostrophe. Never use spaces or special characters in any file name that is going to be uploaded to the server.
Change this...
Chiro%20Works%21.m4v
... by taking out the ! and replacing the space with a hyphen to this...

Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. I don't get a spinning ball, it just stops working at whatever page it's on. I can close the program just fine but when I re-open it, either safari or firefox, it freezes trying to load the hompage. This started a few days ago after trying to stream a movie on my computer. I'm on a Mac Air OS X Version 10.6.8 and have downloaded all updates. When I go into finder, it says I have over 80 gigs available. Is there some other memory cache that I need to check? Thanks so much for your help.

It's not a router problem as I explained in my post. If it was a router problem then I wouldn't have the problem everywhere I go. It is an issue with the software.
Then I guess the millions of people running 10.5.7 with no issues are just hallucinating that their machines are working fine?
I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3."
