Nothing on the screen

new IMAC 24; problems from out of the box; in shop twice already; put IMAC to sleep last night; this morning, wake it up; receive log in screen, then black; no images; no desktop view; pressing f 9 give me the dashboard; use mouse to select a program, screen goes to black; unable to run/view any program.

Take it back. Before you take it home have them demonstrate to you that it is working properly.
If this is the third attempt to repair the same problem Apple will generally replace the machine. It is also a good idea to get a handle on your local consumer protection laws as well.
What are you using for a UPS?

I have an iPhone 3gs... The only thing that will come up on my screen is the apple logo with the little loading circle thingy... I have plugged it into iTunes and it updated and synced with no problems but still nothing on the screen...
    PLEASE HELP!!!!

iPhones that use the ARM chips (2g + 3g) are VERY slow to boot. Sometimes in excess of 1 minute 30 seconds (personal experiece). Assuming the device is not JB or has anything wanted on it, such as photos, do a DFU Restore. To cut it short, it basically forces itunes to give it the latest ios (4.something I think). Otherwise, personally I would wait

I know my network connection is fine and I've checked all the cable connections and my television is set to the correct input, but even though the remote beeps when I hit the button, I see nothing on the screen. The troubleshooting section in the setup guide says to make sure that Apple Tv is connected to my network by choosing Settings>General>Network. How do I do this? What do I need to do to get everything back? I've been using the Apple tv for a while now, and suddenly it's doing this.

I came home and attempted to power on my iPad2. I can see the backlight but nothing on the screen. Can someone tell me if there is anything else I can do before a trip to the repair shop?
    Will

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • TS3899 My email (hotmail) is frozen and has been since 20:24hrs on 10/3/13. Nothing on the screen responds

My emails have frozen. Open ended up an email last night and now nothing on the screen will move.

Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i cant restore and the buttons are not responding?

    - Try a reset Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then connect to your computer and see if yo can restore the iPod.
    - Next, place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore. for recovery mode se:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - If screen is still on, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the above again. If the screen is still on then it is time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

  • My screen on my mac book pro is black. I can see the mouse, but nothing on the screen

Please help! My computer has been perfectly fine! I get home and turn it on, and it boots up just fine, but my screen is black. However, I can see the mouse but nothing else. What do I do!?

Try resetting SMC and NVRAM and then reboot.

Try booting the Recovery Partition.  Power off (hold the power key down for 7 to 10 second).  Boot and hold down the Command and R keys.  Is the screen still black?  If so it is not a software problem so take it in for diagnosis and repairs.  Make a Genius Bar reservation http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider https://locate.apple.com/country .

  • Toshiba p505d-s8007 black screen nothing on the screen

I tried turning on the laptop, and nothing, no blinking underscore, just nothing. No color change indicating the screen is on either. I tried taking out the battery and leaving wire plugged in and turning it on, but not working

Lets test your memory, take out your memory then reinstall just one of them and try to start. Then try one stick at a time and in the bottom or top memory slot by itself and try to start each time, this will check your memory and memory slots. Sometimes you will find one stick of memory or one memory slot will go bad, you may have to check a known good memory in case both of your memory sticks are bad.
    post your results.

  • Nothing on the screen when I turn on the computer?

Hi, my laptop( hp g62) is turning on but nothing is appearing on the screen?

Hi ChevChelios, welcome to the HP Forums. I will use a random model number of a G62 as reference (G62-140US).  I have included the start up troubleshooting document. Find the symptom that most closely matches, and follow those steps. Perhaps "Symptom: LEDs glow, fan noise is heard, but display is black or blank" matches based on what you described.
Computer Does not Start (Windows 7, Vista, XP). I hope this works for you.
If you require further assistance, please provide the model number, and the installed version of Windows, as well as the results of the previous troubleshooting done.
How Do I Find My Notebook Model Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
I look forward to your response.

  • Macbook turns on, but nothing on the screen

I had my macbook pro last september for my birthday, and until last night it had been working properly. but just tonight it won't start up! when i held the power button, the screen stays black although there is this normal sound when mbp's starting. I blind my way and click randomly (hoping to choose the username like i used to) and then the screen's all white-and-gray thing. Any idea why, and how, to fix this? also how much would it cost? thanks

nothing, my mouse just stops at the edge of my screen. but i have it mirrored. when i turn mirror off then my mouse goes of the screen but nothing happens on the display. i am going to take it in to the store tonight and see if they can send it back and fix it.
    thanks
