Nothing Shows on the Canvas!

I've just noticed that Motion 4 has started to 'act up'. When I open a new (or old) project the elements aren't visible, though they are obviously are there - they show up in the project pane. I can export and the quicktime opens and plays without trouble. I've also noticed that text, which before used to look razor sharp, looks jagged, as if not rendering properly. Can anybody shed any light on these?

You Sir, are a bounder! Actually I wouldn't touch Color Munki with a bargepole. I actually use an eye-one Display Two for that sort of thing. I've done no calibration for a wile, so I don't think that thats the problem.
The books not bad though, Patrick; even so, I would have like a bit more on Motion 4, especially an indepth look at the Preferences setup. Perhaps you and Mark could get together and do something along those lines?
Just tried again and the dredded 'jaggies' have reappeared and the use of colour has sent it off on one. This could be a long night!

this looks like a common issue: You've probably not configured the static contents for APEX ("images") properly. Please make sure you've set the parameter to point to a path that contains the contents of the "images" directory of the APEX installation package that fits to the APEX version of the instance your APEX Listener is supposed to host.

What do you mean by "HD to VGA adapter converter"?
Do you mean have an HDMI to VGA adapter connected the the Mini's HDMI port?
Or maybe you plugged n the the included HDMI to DVI adapter and then connected a DVI to DVI adapter?
In either case that will not work since VGA is analog and the Mini's HDMI port is digital only.
You need to purchase a mini displayport to VGA adapter. It plugs into the Mini's Thunderbolt port.

Make sure you get a name--brand one. I purchased some el cheapo, no-name ones and they did not work

I can definitely how frustrating it must be to not be able to take pictures or even view pictures that have already been taken with your LG Dare.
Since this problem has started, have you tried to either:
a.) put that memory card in an alternate phone to see if the pictures can be viewed on there
b.) use a card reader/adapter in a computer to see if the pictures can be viewed on the computer
c.) take the memory card out of the phone and then try to take a picture?
What I am trying to determine is which of the 2 is defective (phone or memory card)
If you are able to view pictures in another phone, or on the computer , then you may have a bad card. If that is the case, you can transfer the pictures to the computer and then format the memory card by

Also, in order to access PixPlace, log into your MyVerizon account, at the top, you should see "Messaging" go down to "Manage your photo albums" once there, you should see "My Media", however, if you have already received a message advising you that your album would be deleted if you haven't logged on in more than 180 days, all pictures have then most definitely been deleted. Again, we do send warning messages once the online album hasn't been accessed in 150, 175, 180 days respectively prior to deletion.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

From what you describe it sounds like the phone is in recovery mode. Try connecting the phone to the wall charger that it came with, and perform a reset then connect it to iTunes again and try:
Reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Why is nothing showing in the new i tunes store?

Just dowmloaded the new version of itunes and nothing is showing in the store + it wont search. What am i doing wrong?

Top right hand corner of the store is the search bar. Just type it in, and it shows up.

There could be some miscleannous data that the iPad doesn't account for in the main categories that could have caused this influctuation. This could comprise of calenders, mail, website data etc.
Try to root out the main cause. See if it's app data that's taking the space. Go to General > Usage and you'll see the apps that take the most space.
If the app data is not the problem, try switching the iPad off and on. Otherwise, reset the iPad's settings one by one by going to General > Reset. There would be various options and you may want to reset them one by one and see how it goes.
The last solution is to scour inside the apps itself. Go into apps manually and see if there's some significant load of items stored in there, such as humongous Pages documents or multitudes of lapsing data. Consult Apple services and see if they could find your problem.
Note: if you have jailbroken your iPad, it is possible the "other data" may account for jailbroken features.

I thought I synced my mac to my Iphone but nothing shows on the phone

I thought I synced my macbook to my new Iphone5, but when I I try to access the music via the music button on the phone it shows nothing. Help?

When I plug in my phone to my laptop to sync, it automatically opens iPhoto and iTunes and begins syncing. When it's finished, in the past it was sync'd, with everything available. Now, it is empty.
So this time, in an attempt to follow your advice, I plugged in, waited for it to finish doing the pretend sync, then looked for the Device pane you mention, which I've never had to use before. I found it in the menu bar under Edit. There was no list of devices to choose from, only the option to sync the iPhone, which I selected, even though the phone already did that when I plugged in initially. So the click initiated the sync again, and I looked for the "series of tabs along the top of iTunes" as you mention, and there is nothing like that visible, nor are they listed in any of the menu tabs, so am still lost. Remember I am using a 3G. Thank you so much.

Hotsync Log does not show any information since August 2008. My Treo 755p has been syncing fine but nothing shows in the log!

I just noticed that when I am done syncing, the Hotsync Log does not have any information about the most recent operation. In fact the date of the last entry in the Log is August! Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix this?

Two more clues:
1) I was searching the Palm Knowledgebase and found out where the HotSync Log file is. When I open the file, using Explorer, this message pops up: 'To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this web page from running scripts or ActiveX Controls that could access your computer. Click here to...' If I allow it to run, the screen blinks but nothing seems to change. If I close the Log file and reopen it, it happens again. How can I stop this from happening to the file? Could this be the problem?
2) The Knowledgebase Article below tells how to create a new 'fake' log file to 'fool' the HotSync Manager. So I renamed the original log file, then created the new file as instructed. Then I did a HotSync. After the HotSync completed successfully, I opened the HotSync Manager and there is my new 'fake' log file that has only the words I typed into it when I created the file. Nothing in the Log about the operation at all!

The HotSync Manager is very particular: if it doesn't find things exactly as it expects, it won't work. One of the things it has to find in the right place is the HotSync log, a file where the HotSync manager records everything it does. When you get this error, your HotSync Manager can't find the HotSync Log. This prevents you from performing a HotSync operation. Luckily, the HotSync Manager isn't too bright. Give it any file called HotSync.log and it will be happy again.
The easiest way to give it what it expects is to create a new text document, rename it, and put it in the folder where the HotSync Manager expects to find it. Here's how:
Launch the Windows Notepad. You can usually get to it by clicking on the Start Menu, choosing Programs, then Accessories and finally Notepad.

From the File menu, choose Save As.
In the Save dialog, navigate to your user folder in the Palm or Handspring folder (find your user folder).

I am trying to see an old email that I kept because of it's importance, it cannot be read - what is wrong? There is nothing showing in the message.

I routinely keep emails that have photos, or important messages - such as airline reservations. Just now when I opened up Thunderbird to look up an old message from almost a year ago, the message section was completely blank. I checked a number of other old messages, including an airline reservation from 6 weeks ago, and except for messages received in the past two weeks or so, they are all showing a blank screen.
Is there a setting on TB that may be causing the glitch? This is a new problem.

Apperantly some anti-virus programs might apply changes to thunderbird mail files which could lead to the inbox becoming corrupted.

Mail Activity Window - Nothing showing most the time??

I am fairly new to Mail. I've used Entourage for years and switched over when i got my new imac. Sort of liking it. There are many more functions in Entourage that Mail doesn't have. For one...I could hit Command > Period to stop sending an email while it was in the process of sending. How do I do that now in Mail? I see there is a Mail Activity window but most of the time it doesn't show any status down there..? Why? Sometimes it does but not very often. There's no rhyme or reason...Just when it wants to it seems. When it DOES show the status of a sending email i see that there is an "X" to cancel. But that is only when it shows. Command > Period doesn't work here.

I have found an acceptable solution to this until the real thing comes along...
Under Window in the task bar, select Activity. This moves a small box onto the desktop. Make it as small as you can and drag it to somewhere on your desktop where it's out of the way.
Press Get Mail as you used to and all the activity is shown in the - ahem - activity panel.

Have you check the following?
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
Ensure that your device is using the latest software.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTune
