Nothing shows up in the message section when I try to forward or write a message; no cursor.
I can read emails, but can't write or forward them. The message box is empty.

If Write now works ok, then one of your addon extensions is causing a conflict. You would need to disable one at a time to work out which one is causing the problem.

I ran Malwarebytes & restarted the computer and now it works. It was strange, because I could add addresses to send to and a subject, but when I left clicked in the message box the cursor wouldn't appear and I couldn't write or paste. Thanks for your help.

Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue. -
No sound is coming out of the built in iPhone speaker I try turning it up and nothing shows up on the screen if I plug my headphones in and try to turn it up it will show headphones in Middle of me turning it up or down but if I unplug them and try it doesn't work
Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2. Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

Select "Internal speakers" and then back to "Selected sound output device". -
When I go to get add-ons (7.0.1), nothing shows up, except the "what are add-ons" info bubble. How do I make this work?. The rest of the functions in that section seem to work. And I can search MY add-ons, but not Available Add-ons.

I just installed iTunes 10 and all it does when I open it up is show me the software license agreement, and if I click either "accept" or "decline" it closes up and does nothing else. It does the same thing when I try to play mp3 files, just opens up the license agreement and nothing else. It also doesn't recognise my iPod touch when I plug it in, thinks it's a digital camera. I recently got a new computer and installed itunes from which had been saved onto an external drive - all music shows up in the library, however when I click on a song I receive this message "the song "abc" could not be used because the original file could not be found". What can I do?
I was given the option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it. itunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one. I hope this helps.

I see you are experiencing issues with sound on applications when playing video/audio content. If this is the case, the first thing I would check is if the side switch is set to silent as this can cause applications to be mute. I changed my ID Apple with another email, i received the confirmation, i changed my password and also received the confirmation but when i try to download something on my iPhone it still shows me my old email and nothing works ! ahhhhh what and how do i solve this ?
On your iPhone go to Settings > Store.
Select the Apple ID at the bottom.
Select Sign Out at the menu selection provided.
Follow this by signing in with your new Apple ID/iTunes store account.
All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. In order to install an app update for the apps downloaded with your previous Apple ID/iTunes account, you will need to use that account and password. -
I am trying to create an executable vi that will call out another vi and show its front panel in the executable. When I try this I recieve this error message "top level vi (my main vi) was stopped at unknown on the block diagram of (my sub vi)
Well the most common way is to enclude the vi's in the build spec either directly in the dependancies that the App builder automatically generates OR by declaring them in the build spec as "additional enclusions" (like you must do for dynamic vi calls in your app.
I have heard rummors about My.app Stuff.vi in a nugget Intaris posted- and I've wanted to dig deaper into Intaris' claims- but have not tried it myself.

Yesterday i synced my music to my ipod touch from iTunes. the musice went on but nothing showed up on the ipod in the 'recently added' folder. now today i went to connect it to the laptop and neither my computer or iTunes recognized the ipod. 1st a message showed up saying an ipod was detected but cuddn't be identified so reconnect and when i did nothing showed up again. i have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and restarted the computer a number of times but the ipod still wont show up. Can anybody help?

I know my back up exists I can see it on disk utility but migration and disc utility wont work to restore my back up on my new hard drive it shows up with the message "this disk is already in use" i am so done. someone pls help me
Otherwise software may be attempted to access the drive. The the computer up in Safe Mode by holding shift when you turn it on. Also be sure to power off and on the hard drive itself.

I have a "hacker" PC showing up under the "Shared" section of the Finder
Today I noticed a PC computer icon showing up under the "Shared" section of the finder. The computer name was brn_921bc1. I immediately went into System Preferences and turned off file sharing. Is it really that easy for a PC hacker to come into my computer? Please help, as this seems to be a huge security threat.

I doubt this is a hacker but you do seem to have an insecure setup. If you have your computer connected directly to a cable modem then you are essentially on a shared subnet with lots of other people Most of them aren't hackers -- probably none of them are. But this situation does leave you vulnerable which is why many people prefer to place a router in between their cable modem and their computer even if they are only connecting a single mac or pc to the internet.
My first suggestion is that you turn on your Mac's firewall immediately. Open your System Preferences and type "firewall" in the search box. Hit return. When the firewall screen opens select "Allow only essential services". You should do this before you finish reading this thread.
My next suggestion is to buy what's called a NAT router and stick it in between your cable modem and your mac as soon as practical. This will give you a far more secure setup than you can get with a software firewall alone. If you need help setting it up, come back here and I'm sure you can find the advice you need. -
