Nothing shows when going to Tools Add-ons Extensions to delete Yahoo Toolbar.

When going to check my extensions, nothing shows up. All i want to do is delete these crappy toolbars ie/yahoo, vuze.
Nothing seems to be disabled, no recent updates changed anything, but for some reason, I'm just thinking i will have to reinstall Firefox, enable my IE again, and re-download firefox.

Reinstalling Firefox most likely won't help if there is a problem with the current profile.
See:
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_add-ons
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Why can't I get the Norton Toolbar? In menu, add-ons,extensions, it says Norton toolbar is incompatible & disabled.

I can't get norton toolbar for firefox 36. Have run Norton live update repeatedly; it updated everything fine and applied a patch. When I go to firefox menu>add-ons>extensions, Norton toolbar is grayed out and says it is incompatible with with firefox 36, and is disabled. Help!! I need my Norton vault.

hi Cathie7372, [https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-update-announcements/firefox-36-support-norton-toolbar according to Norton] the latest version of the toolbar compatible with firefox 36 is 2014.7.10.26 - yours shows as 2014.7.10.'''16'''...
as norton distributes the updates themselves we probably aren't able to help much - please contact norton's support if you aren't receiving the latest update even after running liveupdate repeatedly. they should be able to help you getting their product up-to-date.

  • When I go to Tools Add-ons, nothings shows under Add-ons, Extensions, etc.

The only clickable item there is "check for updates." My add-ons are all working, but none show up. Same for Extensions, Appearance, Plugins, Services.
I don't know how long it's been this way, because I've had no need to check until last Friday, when I picked up some malware that slides open a tab from the right-hand side of my screen with "Hot Deals" on it.
Firefox's "Automatically add" option tells me that listed below are my add-ons (though I can't see them in my own Add-ons tab). There are several there I don't recognize at all, but I have no idea how I can remove them without that page properly loading.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
*If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
*Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

  • Firefox crashes when I click on "Add-Ons" from menu tab

Every time I click on "Tools" in the menu bar and then click on the "Add-ons" tab, Firefox immediately crashes and a crash report shows up asking if I want to submit the report. This only started happening after I recently installed a bunch of add-ons to my browser. I want to uninstall some of the add-ons but unfortunately I cannot even view the "Add-ons" page now because it keeps crashing every time I try. I have tried restarting my browser as well as my computer many times and still get the same crash error.

  • I can't get firefox (Linux) to use flashplayer. I've installed a dozen times but it doesn't show up in tools/add-ons.

I've tried installing flash player a dozen times, with both the instructions on the adobe page and the mozilla page. I'm running Fedora Core 11 with Mozilla 3.5.9. I've gotten "libflashplayer.so" and copied it to every "mozilla/plugins" directory on the drive. It does not work and is not listed when I bring up "tools/add-ons." One instruction said to copy "flashplayer.xpt" to the "mozilla/commponents" directory, but the download included no such file and I have no such directory. (Probably pertains to an older version.) I've tried downloading it with the .tar, .gzip, and yum; all with the same result. It doesn't work online and doesn't show up in my plug-ins.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Only time I've tried to install it.

I had a problem with Fedora 15-64bit + Firefox 64bit + flash player plugins. I finally found that the plugins must be put in: /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins.
I downloaded the 64-bit version of the flash plugins at : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10_square.html Decompressed it and move the file libflashplayer.so to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins (you need to be super user to do that). Restarted Firefox and it worked ! My guess is that if you use 32-bit plugins then you must put them in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins-wrapped but I didn't try.
Arg ! It took me the whole evening to find that !

  • When i open the add ons page in firefox the pages do not display correctly the pages only show text and are in lists

when i click on the add ons tab the page does not show correctly. There are no graphics just text. It is difficult to view the page details. If you click on a link within the page the next page opens with exactly the same problem. All other tabs and pages open and display correctly

    Hi,
If you're using a theme you can try to temporarily switch to the '''Default''' theme in Tools > Add-ons > Appearance. If the problem persists, please check if this happens in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode]. Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', and themes ('''Appearance''') in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u '''Use hardware acceleration when available''']. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

  • The add-ons window does not appear when I go to Tool Add-ons.

A notice says: "A running script is insufficient...." often appears and I can not open my add-ons when I go to: Tool>Add-ons

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Firefox locks up then crashes when I open the Tools-Add Ons page

Hi - Just updated today with automatic 6.0.1 update and once I did, Firefox killed Adobe Reader. I fixed that but then found that opening the Tools, Add-Ons page locks up Firefox for a few minutes, then crashes it.

    Hello Ted.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
As for your problem, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • Tools/Add-ons, then the page will not 'load' symbel just keeps going round

the Add-ons page will not load, it just goes round a long long time and will not open,
    WinXP, Avira AV, Firefox 6

By default the "Get Add-ons" tab is selected if you open the about:addons page (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons)<br />
That page tries to load content from the Mozilla server and that can take some time especially if the Mozilla servers are busy.<br />
You can click on the Extensions tab to see the installed extensions or one of the other tabs to see other installed add-ons.
