Nothing works! itunes, mail, appstore, safari and INSTALLER
I have huge problems with my Mac. I have the Mac OS X v.10.7 installed, but the main problem is that Installer doesn't work when downloading itunes, or new upgrades of Mac Os X. Every time I try the installer freezes (the program doenst anwear). I don't really now how this happened, maybe after some kind of a unexpected stop when I upgraded a program. (I don't use these programs so often, so I dont remember when or how).
Unfortunetly I have unistalled itunes. I thought that the problems of connecting my iphone to the computer and the connecting issues to itunes store would be resolved with a reinstallation, BUT it turned out that I cannot install it again. Every time I try the installer freezes (the program doenst anwear). I Have tried to start the computer in safe-mode, to add new users etc. Nothing works.
I can't use Safari, it is only loading, but nothing happens (Firefox works perfectly)
I can't open App Store, it's loading
My iphone doesn't show up in Finder when connecting
Mail doesn't download any mails.
I cannot download any new upgrades

i notice that you're running McAfee. if you run into an odd problem where you can't see the download controls (there's a blank blue box on the itunes download page, for example), try:
iTunes download button isn't visible on the Download webpage

Hello, I've updated the iPhone I have got I have a problem I hope you respond to some of the applications no longer work, such as the safari and skype and many applications are no longer working with the ios7.0.4
Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
My iphone 4 was updated 2 months ago, after updated the safari suddenly stopped working.I open the safari and it stops immediately. i cannot download anything or access any website through Safari. What shall i do to resolve this issue?
Yes but there's no point doing it here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear this is a User to User forum. It's Users like you talking to other Users. It's not a channel to communicate with Apple.

HI ive been phonless since night and im really worried, wondering if anyone can give me some advice! so yesterday my iphone 4 running on 5.1 battery died on me completely,so i placed it to charge and walked off and when i came back about 3 hrs later it was still not charging. The entire night i tried to reboot it and nothing works! itunes wont even recognize it on my mac!:(please help!
Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

Threading not working on Mail 6.2 and 10.8. What to do?
I'd love to use threading mails. But the feature is extremely flakey for me. E.g. I see three mails with identical subject, sent on the same day next to each other in the same folder.
* I have Mail.app > Settings > View > View conversations: Include related messages (set to active)
* Mail.app > Menu > View > Organize by Thread (set to active)
This is very annoying, especially if you are an extensive mailing list addict and use many ticket systems. If then threading is not working - well your folders are a mess and you loose a lot of time trying to follow a single subject, scattered all over the place.

Do a backup.
Take notes of all account information or take screen shots. You may need to set the accounts up again. Quit Mail.
Copy the line below.
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Select Go/Go To Folder from the Finder menu bar. Paste the line into the window. You won’t see it.
Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Relaunch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.5. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible. -

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod. -
I try to access itune store, it doesnt download. Same for Safari I installed all the updates, turn off firewall etc. what else can I do.

Hotspots not working as expected in Safari and Internet Explorer
first of all, I am using the double <object> tag with conditional comments to hide the inner <object> tag from IE, to embed a QTVR in a web page (as recommended at A List Apart, see http://www.alistapart.com/articles/byebyeembed for details). I am not using the <object><embed> method any longer since <embed> is not standards-compliant.

this is the code I am currently testing and having issues with, for an embedded QTVR movie with blob hotspots. To see the hotspot in the VR, click the target icon at the right of the controller bar then turn around about 180 degrees.
1) in IE for PC (tested in v5.5 and v6.0), clicked hotspots invariably open in a new window and I cannot figure out any way of forcing them to load in the same window, even using the following code (greatly abbreviated here, of course):

Mail, Skype, Safari and some system preferences not opening
I wonder if anyone else has had this problem....my mac starts up but seems to skip loading things at the loading screen when it boots - When it gets to the desktop, Skype, mail (mac default program), and Safari do not open when clicked - I tried to go to user accounts in system preferences and that fails to open also - AIM, Fireofx and Transmit (FTP program) all work fine and are able to connect to the interent - It has done this before (months ago) and I ended up having to do a system restore to go back to factory settings - Yesterday it started this again and after 1/2 hour mail just popped open and all was well - It has been on for 4 hours so far and none of those programs are working - Has anyone else had issues like this ? any suggestions? I am using a Power Mac G5 cpu 1.8ghz and 1.25 gb of ram and 10.3.9 for system version - Any help is greatly appreciated
thanksHave you done the basics? Repaired permissions, cleared caches, run cron jobs, booted from DVD and run disk repair etc.?
It seems that when you did a restore, which I presume is an archive and install, it cleared up then over time whatever you do is corrupting things or the drive is on its last legs. Add a new drive (cheap) , clone the boot drive to it with Super Duper (free) and boot from that for a while. -
Airplay not working iTunes 11.1.2 and Mavericks

Updated to 10.9.0 and iTunes 11.1.2 without a hitch iMac 2011 mid year.
Restarted everything (base/extreme and the expresses and the main computer). The WiFi devices show ok/green light in Airport Utilty. iTunes plays fine through the computer's internal speakers. When I try to connect to speakers though iTunes via Airport Expresses they time out and won't play. iTunes reverts to just playing through the computer and the symbol for Airplay in iTunes turns orange. Dialogue box says, "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Dining Room”. The network connection timed out".
Has anyone encountered this, or have a remedy?

Using a laptop MBP (Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 updated also) as opposed to the similarly updated iMac (wouldn't work-kept giving error message with Airport Utility when trying to "see" the reset AE)
Password protect each Airport Express (wasn't protected previously, but they always worked fine without)

I have checked the server, checked connections, still cannot send mail.
It says: "Cannot send message using server [email protected] (MobileMe)
Connections to the server “smtp.me.com” on the default ports timed out.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."
