Notification Profile help

My last phone switched notification profiles when it was plugged in vs. unplugged. This was nice because I would usually keep it on vibrate during the day but it would switch to a higher volume setting when I plugged it in at night in case someone called to wake me up in the morning.
Is there any way for the blackberry to be set up like that?

NO. BB only has In Holster and Out of Holster sub profiles, but not plugin and unplug profiles. Send an email you [email protected] if you want, this will add your suggestion to their wish list.

Unable to run Memory profiling, help please

Hi there,
I installed the lastest version of JDeveloper 10 and created a very simple project(only have one class with Main()method) for testing purpose.
I configure the Profiler in Project Properties page, setting the class as included instance, however, all those profiling menu items(e.g.: Memory Profile...) are greyed out and I am unable to run memory profiling.
I wonder if the functions are available for the free-downloaed version of JDeveloper, or is there something wrong with my setting?

Make sure you are positioned on the class in the application navigator before going to the "run" menu option.
Also does it work if you don't change anything in the project properties?
Here is what I did - created a new project with a simple hello class. And I didn't had any problems profiling it.
There is no function limitation on the version you downloaded.
Here is the class I tried:

ICC Colour profiles help!?

Hi all,
I just started a new job and on Friday I sent my first work off to the printers.
It came up with error messages saying about colour error with ICC profiles being incorrect.
(I use a pre set export setting)
When I contacted the printers he said it wasn't a problem this time, but to take those profiles out my end next week/sort them out.
I have done a little reserach and looked on this forum to see if I can answer my question but i am left confused and I was hoping someone on here could help.
So my questions are:
What exactly is a ICC profile
How do i change or get rid of this so i do not have a error printing next time

Printer Profiles Help Please

Hi all, hoping to get a bit of help understanding printer profiles, the benefit of using them, how I know which profile to use etc etc. Would obviously like to get the best prints I can and if changing these setting will help it makes sense to get to knw how to use them. Just got a new printer too, so makes sense to start off on the right foot with it.
Using a Mac with OSX 10.9.1
Lightroom 5.3 Camera Raw 8
Canon Pixma MG5550 Printer. (new)

Printing using profiles has the potential of greatly improving your color accuracy and optimizing the results. I don't have the same printer you do, I have a Canon Pixma Pro-100. On the Canon website, under support for my printer, there was a download available that installed printer profiles for all of the different Canon papers. Additionally, I use several different Red River papers. And Red River provides profiles and instructions telling you what profiles to use to get the best results.
But the profiles alone will not guarantee that you will get good results. Your monitor needs to be adjusted to match what the printer produces. Those who are in the know insist that a hardware calibration device is a must in order to get accurate color. So far, I have not purchased one. But at the very least you should make a print and then adjust your monitor using monitor controls and operating system controls to match that monitor as closely as you can to the print. This is not the ideal or recommended way to set up your monitor. I'm still deciding whether or not to purchase a calibration device.
Once you have got your monitor adjusted to your satisfaction the process to set up your printing requires careful attention. It involves choosing one of the Canon papers that is closest to what you are using if it is not Canon paper. You make this choice in the Canon driver, and you choose from one of the Canon papers. You turn OFF color management in the printer driver. Then in your software that you will use to print you will instruct it to manage the color. If you are using third-party paper and have profiles for that paper, the manufacturer will tell you what profiles you should use.
Printing with profiles proved to be a bit tricky for me when I first started. I made several mistakes. But once the process sank in I found that my prints improved significantly.

802.1x System Profile HELP, Please!!!

To who ever may be able to help me,
I am the tech director for a school district and manage about 800 Apple laptops ranging from old MacBooks to the latest MacBook Pro. We utilize the LDAP service on our Apple server for authentication via 802.1x. Our entire district uses Aruba Network controllers and access points to privde wireless to our clients. For termination we use PEAP and EAP-GTC. Please don't ask me why we are using those methods, it was set up like that before I started and I am not very familiar with all these protocols and authentication methods. All of our students have network only accounts, nothing is ever saved to the client devices, so they require the system profile to be configured in order for the wireless to be active at the log-in window. I have preconfigured each of our 10.6 clients to authenticate this way with a preconfigured user name and password stored in a profile that I exported from the network preferences, because you used to be able to do that.
Now I am sitting on a pile of newly shipped MacBookPros that, guess what, have 10.8 on them and I am dealing with profiles made by profile manager. Obviously I am here because this is not going well.
I have created a profile in Profile Manager that has all the information I can provide.
Interface is set to WiFi
SSID is set properly
It is a hidden network, so that box is checked
Auto Join is checked
I have no Proxy
Security type is WPA2
I have checked, to Use as a log in window configuration
PEAP is checked
Password is entered
I have also added the certificate that the wireless network asks for when manually connecting
Additionally, I have looked at the profile in Text Edit and confirmed all of the key values are correct.
The profile will successfully install but it will never connect to the network, it will just sit there authenticating. I can manually connect just fine using the same user name and password I used in the profile. I am stuck. If anyone has any tips for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am experiencing exactly the same issue in my environment. Same setup: System-level profile configured via Casper, with 802.1x authentication at the loginwindow enabled. Users are able to log in using directory based accounts, but the connection then drops and the profile seems to disappear completely! It is no longer visible in the profiles preference pane, and the network will not function again until the user selects the SSID manually and reauthenticates.
Did you ever find a resolution for this issue? Please help!

Multiple profile help needed

I work for a company that requires me to connect to several customer Cisco VPNs via AnyConnect 3.0.5075.
Each customer site has provided it's own URL and certificate, etc.
How do I get Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client version 3.0.5075 to agree to multiple profiles?
I also would love some advice on how to add certificates to the tool without the "double click the certifiate" route. My laptop has an encrypted hard drive and when I try and "double click" the Cisco certificates the hard-drive encryption tool believes I am trying to add a certificate to it instead of to the Cisco VPN tool.
AnyConnect does not appear to have any editable/configurable settings for multiple profiles or to directly add a certificate.
I have googled furiously to no avail.
Any help available here? Even just to give me some bumps in the right direction?

SSL certificate mapping applies to both clientless WebVPN and AnyConnect connections where certificates are used. The certificate-group-map entries are processed in the order they are entered and appear above until a match is found. They do not need to be in numerical order.

The certificate selection can be done automatically by enabling the automatic certificate selection in the XML profile

Tone Curve in Profile Help

Hey all,
Hoping the more talented tech gurus can help me out a bit here?
I have custom camera profiles for each of my cameras, so that my colour is consistent across bodies. They're all dual illuminant, some made in the old DNG profile editor, more recent ones in the Lightroom plug in from Xrite (Passport).
The colour is excellent, but I always find the tone to be too contrasty for my preference. When I look at the values on the step chart (greyscale patches) part of the McBeth checker they are not uniform / linear but rather already hold a contrast adding tone curve. What I do in Lightroom is to take the TAT tool in the curves panel and move these points per patch until they are almost "linear" again. In effect I apply a custom inverse S or reverse S to the image. I then save this curve per camera and invoke it on import setting along with the colour profile. I LOVE, LOVE the files I now get with this calibration, skin tones especially.
BUT
I now have my curve area of Lightroom being used essentially for calibration purposes, which robs me of it's use for creative purposes. Thus, I'd like to do this tonal adjustment at the profile stage, in the .dcp file to free me up to use the curve panel to suit my artistic vision.
SO
The question is how do I visually target the tone curve in DNG Editor (or passport) to match those which I have created in the curve panel now? I can eyeball it so they look similar, but it's a bit vague. Either that or a way to visually adjust the tone curve while viewing the grey swatches within the DNG editor?
The result should be the same as my custom camera profile plus my bespoke lightroom tone curve but all done in the .DCP file.
Am I missing something? Willing to be schooled always!

Distribution Provisioning Profile Help

Hi,
I have an application that I've already uploaded and is available for sale ( using a distribution provisioning profile ). However, something seems to have happened and when I view my "Build" settings I can no longer see the distribution profile in the drop down for "Code Signing Provisioning Profile"... ( along with my Ad Hoc profile as well ).
My release build profile still shows up fine. I've double and triple checked my "Code Signing Identity" to make sure that it matches my distribution certificate name.
Just as a side note, I also have my distribution project settings setup to use a "dist.plist" file with the correct "get-task-allow" boolean set to false ( unchecked ).
Anyone have any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Can someone help please?
I have downloaded the lens profile tool and found one of the lenses I need. I have downloaded it and the tool now says it is installed but I can't access it in Lightroom. What have I done wrong?
Also I need another profile but I can't find the area the help files talk about to find it.

Star office with roaming profiles help please

Hope someone can help me
I have installed star office on a networked computer where the users profile and application data is situated on a win 2003 server (roaming profiles and folder redirection)
in a stand alone environment i.e no folder redirection the product works great with no problems
(on the same computer)
when i log in as a user that has folder redirection in place the software overall becomes very un-responsive
Symptoms
Launcher taking upto 30-40 seconds to open
Once program is open just simple things like opening the file menu can cause the program to become unresposive (not responding message in toolbar)
then maybe after 2--40 seconds it will come alive again
all the time this is happening i am able to access other programs on the computer without any problems
I have tried this on several computers in the office and its the same on all of them, the computer i am doing my main testing on, is a brand new DELL system dual core with 1Gb RAM and windows XP service pack 3
Any help or suggestions welcome

I'm having the exact same problem. When using roaming profiles and folder redirection StarOffice is often not responding when using commands as save, open etc. Often it becames alive again after a few minutes, but sometimes not.
I'm using a Linux server with Fedora and Samba. Clients are WinXPpro with Staroffice8.
All computers in the company has the same problem.
Hope someone can help me and macman73 with this problem...

Creative Cloud Alternate Profile-Help!

My computer will not work after installing the 30 day trial of Adobe Creative Cloud. Installed Photoshop and InDesign and used both programs without incident yesterday. However, upon shutdown and restart, NOTHING ON MY COMPUTER WORKS AT ALL. There was an alternate profile created using an Adobe wallpaper and I cannot access ANY of my files (documents, pictures, etc.) or settings (wifi,etc). Computer takes 30+minutes to even come on and go to the desktop. Have tried to uninstall the program but it keeps freezing up. Won't allow me to reset to an earlier time because this is not my profile. HELP!!!

Just got infinity option 2 installed a few days ago so i realise im still in the "stabilization period"
What im wondering is what profile am i on exactly. When i log into my account it says:
Up to 76Mb download speed
Up to 19Mb upload speed
But when i run the FTTC checker i get:
Clearly my upload shows upto 20mb but my download is no where near 76mb.
The connection is Wired directly to the hub and the max speed i can get on ANY tester is 33mb down and 6mb up.
Can anyone help or offer advice before i ask the "Mod" who is currently dealing with my install (long story lol) about this.

The bt speed test shows what your profile is. It looks like your profile hasn't been updated which has happened to a few.
As you are already in contact with a Mod you will get more info from him/her.

Camera profile help

I own a Canon xsi and do not know how to get Canon camera profiles into the camera calibration profiles in the develop mode. Help????

If you're using the latest LR (2.4) they come automatically installed. You will only see them when you use RAW files (so not for jpegs) and the profiles will NOT have the camera name in their names. LR will automatically only show you profiles relevant to your camera.
For your camera you should see something like six different profiles.

User status profile - help needed

Hello,
We would like to use a status profile in which there are three possible states:
1: Open (Users can enter and change data)
2: Closed (When this status is set, no data can be changed)
3: Re-open (If a trasaction has the status closed, but for some reason something needs to be changed, setting this status allows it to change data)
The problem lies in the fact that in order to prevent data being changed in status "Closed", we set the entry in the last column to "FINI"and the Business Transaction "Change Document" to forbidden. This works since all the fields are no longer editable, including the status field.
Is there a way for us to make suure that all fields are not editable, at the same time allowing (certain) users to change the status to reopen so that changes can be made?

Sorry, can't have the cake and eat it too.
Only way is to do it through another custom program. For example, see if the process of Reopening requires any workflow type of authorizatrion. Then you can sneak that in the approval process. We had a very similar process of not allowing a class of users to change the document (and status) and there was a workflow involved in the process.
Easiest way is to write a small dialog program, get the transaction number and check the authorization of the user, to start the process. You may have to directly modify the status tables - remove (delete) the "Closed" status after authorization check.

IP Profile Help
