Notification area unlock screen on tap

I have my Z3 Compact on swipe to unlock which works well. However the screen will unlock with a single press on the icons, not a sustained swipe downwards, just a little tap. This means when the phone is in my pocket it unlocks and does all sorts of things, like making phone calls and sending emails.
Please help.

Is that without a password protection on the phone?
When I tap an icon on the top of the screen when the phone is locked with a password, nothing happens, which is what I would expect. However, twice now I've heard phone dialing tones coming from my pocket, and sure enough, the phone dial keypad was active and numbers were being registered (pocket dialing). Is there some way to avoid that?

Oh, wait. I think I figured out what's causing my pocket dialing. It must be the "Emergency dial" button being pressed. Would that make sense? Any way to disable "Emergency dial"?

setting up the new playbook. everything is working: email, internet, tethering, blackberry bridge...
I have come across one problem though:
i found that I cannot reply to an email when open from notification area. i.e when new email arrives, ntification flashes in the corner. when I press to open the new email I see all the buttons, but nothing happens. I would very muxh like to reply to email from that window.
Is there something wrong with the playbook, or is it designed that way?

Works just fine for me. The list opens when Itap the notification area. When I tap on the title or letter icon for the new email, it opens in edit-reply mode.
Edit: Not quite the truth... I have to click on the reply icon at the bottom of the just-opened message - the envelope icon with the left green arrow.

Unable to unlock screen when i receive message notification in locked screen

Hi,
I am facing a software issue in IOS7 in iPhone5.
Whenever i receive Message Notification in locked screen mode, i am unable to slide & unlock the scrren.
I can open control centre, but cannot touch anything. I can open Notification, but again of no use.
Every time this happens and i have to power-off and restart my mobile.
Any solutions from anybody????

IOS7 Bug: Why is that i can only making an call works from notification area without unlocking the Phone using the passcode

After upgrading to iOS7, I was asked by the system to set an passcode.
When i try to swipe from the notification area, it navigates me to the passcode lock screen which is expected but the same behaviour is not shown for a call - when i swipe from my notification area for the missed call it allows me to make calls.
Is this a bug or expected behaviour? Why there is a different behaviour for different functionalities? Its just to confuse the users?

It sounds as if you only had one line with an upgrade available. So you can only upgrade one line. For you to upgrade as well, you will have to wait until your upgrade is available. You can check that at MyVerizon. That's just how it works. All carriers and phone brands are the same. I have to wait until February to upgrade. The only thing you can do to get the new iPhone, is add a new line. But then you're paying for a line you don't need.

I experience this also sometimes (whatsapp), is this a bug??
sometimes when a person writes 2-3 messages in a row (for instance) in whatsapp (im in standby mode), it sometimes only displayes ONE message in lock screen mode (though he/she wrote more than 1), and sometimes shows the right corresponding written messages!
Why is this?
its really annoyoing when you get messages in lock screen mode BUT it doesnt stay and remain so you notice it. That way you get missed messages etc and notices it first...when doing the "pull-down list".

Triple tap the home button

My Ipod touch has a problem where the apps are zoomed up all the time, even the welcome/unlock screen is zoomed in. How can i fix this?

The apps, unlock screen, and any in app usage is all magnified.

It sounds as though the Zoom Accessibility feature got turned on. This link will detail how to turn this feature off from either iTunes or from the iPod itself.

I am trying to watch youtube long documentarie, video gets interrupted when screen locking time kicks in- I go to settings/general/lock screen, but 'never' option is not there! Only 1 to 5 minutes options- can I unlock screen permanently To enable uninterrupted videos when using iTV+iPhone6?

What version of ios are you on? Anything current has multitasking (such as it is) built in. What happens when you duble tap the home key? If the task bar shows up on the bottom lf the screen, you are multitasking.

A weird looking icon in notification area.

Hello friends,
I own a Blackberry 9300 and recently I have had this weird looking icon in my notification area. It looks like some sort of sundial (the clock replacement we used when we did not have clocks) with a red star and 1 written before it. Tried every app, message, etc. etc. but to no avail.
I would upload the picture (I have munched the screen using an app), were it not for my knowledge of how to upload pictures on forums.
If anyone has the slighest idea on this, please help!

Your MAIN messages list, not your email specific folder.
Press the menu key > Mark Prior Read.
Does it disappear?

Virus try to brute-force my unlock screen pin on iPad immediately after FaceTime call redirect

Hi all!
I guess there could be exploit in FaceTime/call redirection proto. It's the 3rd time when I see my iPad is flashing with digits brute-forcing pin code to unlock screen and does not react on any touch or buttons.
The scenario is as following:
1. I receive a call on iPhone
2. Call is redirected to iPad via FaceTime
3. After call is answered from iPhone, iPad do not fall into sleep
4. iPad does slide to unlock!
5. iPad start flashing with digits (it looks the same when you tapping and after any touch digit flashes). The sequence is traditional: 1111,1211,1221,etc,etc...
6. Finally iOS blocks pin entering with timeout and iPad back to normal operations, reacts on buttons and touches.
I talk about iPad2/iPhone4S running latest iOS 8.3.
If anybody get the same problem, please write here.

What you describe sounds more like a problem with your iPad's touchscreen than a hack. There's no known method for brute-forcing the lockscreen code in that manner.
Note that the sequence you describe isn't really "traditional"... the only digits you describe as being used are 1 and 2, which are right next to each other... a problem with the touchscreen in that region could easily explain that. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the screen. If that doesn't help, contact Apple for diagnosis and service.

Can't get rid of Nvidia notification area icon

Hi All,
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Nvidia notification are icon keeps appearing and I cannot get rid of it permanently for love nor money!
If I deselect it by unticking the option in both the notification area icon and in the main Nvidia control panel... it just pops again when I close my laptop and reopen it.
Driving me crazy... anyone got any ideas?

Can't start camera from unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8

Hi!
Some I can't start the camera from the unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8 update.
It works a couple of hours after reboot, but the problem keeps turning back randomly.
After iOS8 update I also installed facebook, facebook messenger, linkedin and sync.me and configured skype.
The actions are:
Enabling the unlock screen and then sliding up the camera icon, it seems to appear a camera captured image but then the screen turns black or greyish (randomly) like the unlock screen background.
The problem doesn't happen from the control center panel locked or unlocked.
It isn't a big problem because there are simple workarounds, but it's annoying when it happens.

This problem seem to have been solved in iOS 8.0.2.

I-phone unlock screen has very large letters and numbers.

I-phone has large letters and numbers on the unlock screen. can see only about 1/4 of the screen it's so large. can't see the slide to unlock bar, only part of the actual time. will not compress with fingers. phone recieves e-mail/phone calls but can't unlock it. tried restore twice and shutting phone off. pulled SIM card too. when it's restoring the screen is normal size as soon as it's finished it goes back to super -size.

I'm having exactly the same problem, but It doesn't do a thing when I tap it twice or even three times. It's just locked on my screen saver. I can unlock it with some difficulty, because the screen is so enlarged. But, then I just get a big screen with numbers. I've reset it multiple ways, but with no luck.

Notification Area - temperature missing in weather (in HK)

For some unknown reason on iphone 5s, the supposed weather info under the date in Notification Area is not displaying correctly.
It only showed if it is cloudy or not, visbilty issue, but no temperature info.
I guess something to do with the location service and yahoo weather in Hong Kong.
Anyway, on iPad Mini (WifI), the weather info include temperture in the Notification Area?!
Both of them are using iOS 7.0.3

I knew tapping the weather on Notification Area launch the weather app.
Currently I am using Siri to check on the weather.
But is it defeating the main purpose of having a simple weather info on the notification area in the first place when it can't display the critical info aka temperature?!
